Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Brum, you voted for Obama TWICE, so now it's time for you to put on your man-pants, and either defend his policies, or admit when they are wrong. Please, no more attempts to obfuscate by mentioning birthers, etc. Or you can ignore this forum and keep me on ignore.
He doesn't have to do that because a vote for Obama is as much or maybe more than a vote against the alternative than it is for Obamas policies.
Or he can simply read what I said then and continue to believe, that Obama's healthcare policy needed amended. But's that's not his MO.
I think we've all said that. No one seems to think the law in its current form can survive.

Still trying to figure out how this is "better." This sucks, actually.

br
Do I need to post a definition of sarcasm or are you just gonna play dumb the entire thread? You have supported the idea of this massive law from the beginning, why aren't you defending it?

False. I don't think anyone here supported the bill in it's current form. Those who were health reform advocates, including myself, repeatedly said the bill was rushed through and had a ways to go before being a sustainable plan.

When a crappy law is passed, it should be repealed--period. Trying to put band-aids on it won't work.

Our founders intended for new laws to be thoroughly debated, and vetted BEFORE being made the law of the land.

Speaking of our founders, I hope all of you guys have a nice holiday, even Brum.

And Lars supported it in Massachusetts....wonder why.

Secondly, if 'laws should be repealed instead of putting band aid son them', then either he thinks his beloved Patriot Act perfect or it should be repealed.

False, I've never supported the Mass healthcare law. I did say that all states have the right to make their own decisions on important matters like that.

Yes, I've repeated my support for the Patriot Act several times. I think it falls under "to provide for the common defense" in the US constitution. I think it's generally a good law, and Obama Care is a crappy law. You think ObamaCare is generally a good law.

It's interesting how you guys are now admitting ObamaCare is flawed and needs to be fixed. Please link me the Dem efforts to improve/fix this crappy legislation. I'm expecting crickets, but would be happy to be surprised.

I wouldn't waste my time looking for anything either of the major parties are doing to better the country.

Fact is, I can't remember a single poster that was all-in on obamacare as written...

If you weren't all in, you sure got a thrill up the leg when the SCOTUS found a loophole to keep it constitutional.....being a tax and all. When you have to jam something this big thru without reading it, the Supreme Court redefines it to keep it legal, then it probably is a bad idea....can we agree on that?

br
Brian, you and most OHB posters have been generally supportive of ObamaCare. Colt, Aaron, and I have been consistently against it.

What amendments do you and the OHB posters think would help the law? Do you favor a single payer government system?

I don't favor a single payer system because I haven't seen a single payer system proposed that works better than the competitive system. Although, I believe it's in the country's best interest to set guidelines when it comes to the health and welfare of its citizens (pre-existing condition clause, dependency age limits, low-income coverage, etc).
