Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Anthony bourdain is kinda the man. I liked no reservations. It was one of the tv shows I actually kinda followed.

I hate her voice and my mom enjoys the food network and has it on a lot whenever I visit, so I'm glad she was fired.

There is difference in a change of heart and what Paula Deen did. She continued promoting her fatty foods and hid her diabetes until she cold profit from promoting diabetes medication.

So the Sandy Hook situation gave him a change of heart? Before that, gun and violent movies and the profits that went with them were acceptable...ok. I'm sure he'll donate his pay from this last flick to gun violence victims....being that Sandy Hook affected him so deeply.

He said it gave him a change oh heart, but I guess you know his line of thinking better than he knows his own.

But let's assume that they were the same situation (which they aren't):

Still not sure how that makes what Paula Deen did make her any less of a despicable money grubber.

My point is that they are all opportunistic "money grubbers". Nothing Paula Dean or Jim Carrey have ever done or said has forced me to do anything. They can profit from whatever they want as long as its not criminal, and we all know that goes on too. Point being, it's a free country...who gives a flying fuck what these people say? You have a choice, don't eat at Paula's restaurant, watch her show, or buy her cookbook....it's really that simple. Is she the only person to use the N-word or hypocritically profit at the possible expense of others? You act surprised.

Most human beings are "money grubbers," which explains why free enterprise works and teachers' unions suck.

You are correct, it is a free country where we aren't to do anything. That's why I used my freedom to to give my opinion of her. You have a choice not to listen to it just as I have a choice to consider her to be a money grubbing unethical subhuman (which, for the record, had nothing to do with any racial slurs which I said was completely beside the point to my opinion of her). That's my opinion of her....and I won't watch her shows, won't buy her cookbooks, won't eat at her restaurant...but I'm not sure why you are opposed to me taking giving my opinion of her in a public forum when it's the topic at hand. I'm not losing sleep over whether she is on the food network or not but I certainly don't feel lie I should hold an opinion in if it is asked for. Aaron asked, I responded.

And I certainly don't understand the 'they aren't the only person who' argument. There are certainly lots of guys who are pyromaniacs out there....are they less guilty because others do it?

If every person that has ever used a racial slur, in any way, is a racist then we have about 299 million of them in this country.....estimating of course.

Idon't disagree that pretty much everyone has used some kind of racial slur.....but my attacks have been on Deen's hypocritical and what I consider slimy nature, trying to promote herself as someone who 'cares about' people's health only after she continued to promote her fatty foods and hide her diabetes until should could profit from saying she had it.
