http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/DC-Decoder/Decoder-Wire/2013/0813/Obama-mask-clown-gets-lifetime-Missouri-fair-ban.-Just-or-too-harsh Does anyone else think that we are far too sensitive...especially with this particular President? It seems that far too often, any criticism of him becomes a damn racial issue....WE ELECTED A BLACK PRESIDENT.....it's not about race at this point! Here's a piece that partially defends the rodeo clown by making comparisons to past Presidents. http://washingtonexaminer.com/article/2534213 And this is where the story goes absolutely over the edge, IMO. The NAACP wants the DOJ and secret service to investigate the incident....come on man http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/08/13/Missouri-NAACP-rodeo-clown |

Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism. | |

My daughter and her friends have a lama song with many verses. One verse says "mentally distressed lama." A new friend from Australia also knows the song, but that verse says "Obama lama." Had to chuckle about that... |

It was done in poor taste.....especially the part with the announcer asking the crowd who would like to see Obama run over by a bull. I agree that it has been done with past presidents and I've been against those as well. |

poor taste...sure it is....but the same can be said about many of the antics from Jon Stewart, Bill Maher and Saturday Night Live. But again I ask, aren't we a bit oversensitive, particularly when bing anti-Obama? |

The wearing of that mask was an insult to rodeo clowns everywhere. |

As I said, I think it would be poor taste regardless of the president....but I'm not talking about the wearing of the mask, I'm specifically talking about asking the crowd if they would like to see Obama run over. I didn't have a problem with the rest. But just as bri said about it being the choice of those who made the joke to make it, it's also the choice of the rest of us to decide how we view it. It is what it is.....it's a story that will be here for a few days and then it's gone. What you call being 'a big deal' really isn't...nobody here even discussed it until you posted it because it's a pretty big non-story. It's a slow news week....CNN and Fox News websites top "breaking news" today is 'Former Bachelor contestant dies". |

Bill Maher in particular has made news for things that were said to be done in poor taste, BTW. He's made much bigger news than the 'rodeo clown' ever has. |

I don't think anyone called for a DOJ or Secret Service investigation of Maher |

I don't take that as any kind of serious reality. And Maher did receive an actual denouncement from White House secretary Ari Flescher after his comments on 9/11. |

Fuck Obama. Makes budget cuts, effecting military operations/livelihood, then flies his dog around in a personal aircraft, and takes at least 2 vacations a month. |

I agree about too much wasted time flying around AF1 and taking vacations. We need to make some budget cuts, and this will affect military operations and our short-term livelihood. But what will happen when the government can no longer borrow enough money, or the Fed's money printing is no longer tolerated by the world's financial markets? Can you say shit-storm? |

Not sure what you're saying, but I've been preaching about the problems caused by excessive health care costs and globalization for many years. Borrowing and money printing puts off the consequences of those systemic problems. And the big government, welfare state makes things worse too. |
