the fractional reserve banking system is what allows the reckless spending that you are against....yet you praise the reserve system at the same time.....you can't have em' both lars. |

The fractional reserve system is one significant factor that has led to our meteoric economic rise. We can argue about what the reserve percentage should be, but full-reserve banking is a joke and not even worthy of consideration, IMHO. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Full-reserve_banking |

Te people up in arms over a rodeo clown is laughable. The NAACP seems insistent on making themselves less and less relevant in our society. Sad to see an organization that used to do so much good turn into a political tool.....and that is really all they are at this point. They have lost ALL credibility. |

Did the NAACP call for the Dixie Chicks to be investigated? I must have missed that. |

where were they banned for life from? What group called for a legal investigation? Has Obama come out in defense of the rodeo clown's right to express his opinion? Here was Bush's response to the Dixie Chicks' comments: "The Dixie Chicks are free to speak their mind. They can say what they want to say ... they shouldn't have their feelings hurt just because some people don't want to buy their records when they speak out ... Freedom is a two-way street ... I don't really care what the Dixie Chicks said. I want to do what I think is right for the American people, and if some singers or Hollywood stars feel like speaking out, that's fine. That's the great thing about America. It stands in stark contrast to Iraq" I think it is one thing to not support someone because of their outspoken political opinions, and quite another to ask the federal government and the secret service to investigate legally. Fwiw, I believe if Bush would have been a black liberal, the Chicks would have probably been out of show businesses and have similar NAACP attacks on them. |

Yeah, I'm pretty confused as to why a smart guy like Brum would compare the Dixie Chicks situation to this. It appears that his fingers got ahead of his brain on this one. |

I guess you don't recall death threats. http://www.foxnews.com/story/2006/05/11/dixie-chicks-discuss-death-threats/ And I wonder why you hold so much of interest in what the NAACP says. I don't and you sure never did before. |

Because they didn't speak out for past presidents. Why now? It's a fucking mask. It's free speech. Why is it now so offensive? Please help me understand. President Bush handled the situation with class when he addressed it....he spoke up for his detractors rights. Pretty classy, IMO. |

People didn't just all of a sudden become offended by free speech. Did you hear about the music group who received death threats for exercising it? |

Equating the actions of the DOJ and the NCAACP with some nut-case is a weak attempt to win this argument, IMO. |
