Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

But i see you and Lars both trying to move this off topic.
You're the one who said "Why are other countries so far ahead of the US when it comes to these things?"

http://www.nationsonline.org/oneworld/world_population.htm
Note that Asia and Africa represent 5.3B out of a total of 7B humans worldwide, and in most of those countries same sex marriage is either illegal or punishable by death.
And i didnt say EVERY country now did I?

But stay off topic Lars. Ignore the Intersex baby
The US is a melting pot that includes a large number of Asian and African immigrants. Trying to paint the US as being so far behind the times is untrue, IMO. I agree that some people are biologically a mixture of the sexes, and think this explains why homosexuality can be caused more by nature than nurture in some cases.
lol.

Realtively, I know that you consider yourself to be very smart and enlightened, and that your ideas and opinions are always correct, but sometimes it can be helpful to step back and consider the possibility that other cultures and belief systems have merit too.

Ok Lars. You are correct. I didnt really want to go down this road in this thread, since it has nothing to do with the subject, but here goes.

I will learn from you. So what are the percentages of Gays that are gay based on nature vs nurture? I am sure you have these figures since you only deal in fact.

I am anxious to see this link.

I don't have the link, but maybe Dreachon can provide the one to the IU research on the subject.

Look, there's no reason to be an ass about it. Dreachon posted information based on the research of a respected scholar on the subject. I'm just not willing to spend any of my time looking up something that we've already discussed at length.

Ok, back on topic, if Western Europe is so enlightened on things, shouldn't the US raise taxes and adopt a single payer, government run health care sytem?

http://www.dailyfinance.com/2013/04/14/think-your-taxes-are-high-the-5-countries-with-the/
Western Europe led all world regions with a 46.1% tax rate on personal incomes. By contrast, North America stood at 27.7%.

Keep staying away from the topic of intersex babies lars.

I am glad you dont want to "spend time" looking up something you claimed as truth but yet you will "spend time" being completely off subject.

Since you consider the Europeans to be so enlightened regarding sexual behavior and policy, it seems reasonable that you also agree with their policies on taxation and health care.

Do you think "enlightenment" means thought that agrees with yours on any given topic? So the Europeans are enlightened about some things but not others?
