Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Pretty sure under law you can do that.

There are Klan meetings correct?

yes there are, and there are also black panther meetings. So, you are saying that I can discriminate as long as I don't charge for it? That's seriously your reasoning? So, if the photographers stop charging for their photography service, then you would be OK with them excluding gays?

Would you feel differently if a large company like verizon, apple, amazon, etc suddenly denied their services to blacks?

br
no. I would see it as an extremely stupid move both from a moral and capitalistic standpoint, with the later opening up a mountain of new opportunity for competition.

I am pretty sure if the photographers stopped charging then they wouldn't be a business so yes, I wouldn't care.

What is going to be the next ridiculous analogy?

You're right, in that case I'd just go and startup my own refinery to serve the masses!

You know the funniest part of it all?

Freedom of anything is great as long as you are the majority.

br
you wouldn't need to start a refinery...refineries don't sell direct to consumer. They have no idea if they are serving blacks or whites. There isn't a VC in the world who wouldn't JUMP in a New York second to the opportunity to capture 100% of the ethnic gas market.

absurd. discrimination doesn't exist in this world so long as you are willing to pull up your bootstraps. it's really just that simple.

Real, if you had a lawn cutting service and had no openings on your schedule, should you be forced to cut someones lawn outside of your normal business hours because they ask for you to? Do you think just because you own a business you should be legally required to accept all business?

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed
