Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

If the US wasn't able to borrow and print trillions, we would be much closer to Greece and Spain economically. The question is how long can we continue down the current road? Nobody knows what the end game will look like...

I personally think that the US can survive with minimal pain IF we can gradualy reduce our dependence on debt spending over time. This would allow us to slowly turn back around into more of a state of self-reliance. We have the natural resources to sustain a high level of living in this country if more people are willing to earn it.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I totally agree for two key reasons: The potential to gain energy independence (which can't happen on Obama's watch) and a large food supply. At the end of the day, having cheap energy and ample food are the key to modern day "prosperity." Then throw in our know how to do almost anything, and our future is still bright.

Our founders would be shocked to see the economic and social problems caused by liberalism.

I'm not sure the founders would be shocked....I think they knew the problems of liberalism, which is why they tried to construct an environment of maximum self-governance.

To be fair, they would also be surprised at the amount of corporate welfare, e.g. farming subsidies and excessive defense spending. Given how poorly Washington DC is operating, I could see myself backing someone like Rand Paul in '16. He has a lot of his dad's ideas, but is a little more balanced, IMO.
