Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Unfortunately I agree. That's why we should go all out to get Archie Miller.

With Blackmon's injury, will this have a bearing on Tom Crean's status after the year? Will it be an excuse to have him come back? Will it be an excuse as to why they didn't make a deep run into the tournament?

Just some of the questions I believe most of us are asking ourselves.

Thoughts?

I think you're getting a little ahead of yourself. Blackmon is an elite offensive player, but Indiana can still be a top offense without him. Their defense has been much improved without him though. It's POSSIBLE this particular team is better without him. They're 3-0 in the BIG with 2 road wins. Their Kenpom adjusted D is up to 94 after last night and they're ranked 26th overall. While you're talking about excuses for when we don't have a good season, I actually see some hope for the first time that this team can become the top 25 squad we thought they were when the season started.

This is, unfortunately, a very real possibility. The verdict is still out, but definitely not out of the question IMO. I really can't figure out why Blackmon is so bad on defense. He's very athletic and seemingly a very smart player for the most part. That is usually a combination that allows for great defense....yet he clearly isn't.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

It could be because he doesn't have desire to play it. Probably wasn't made to in High School having to play for his father. Definitely seems offensive minded but seems to want to rest on D.

It's one of the odder things I've seen out of a player and team overall. Troy should be an elite defender. It's not even that Blackmon is bad, he is awful. It really doesn't make much sense.

I'm with Dreach here, this team is 13-3 (3-0) and we're sitting here predicting the inevitable collapse? I also think we are better defensively, and I don't think his points are something that we can't replace elsewhere on the floor. I am excited to see where this team can go riding this hot streak, not burying my head in the dirt assuming the worst
