Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

well, disappointing result. but there is a whole season, literally, to still play for.

what i want to see now is a team that feels hungry down the stretch. if they don't bring it they could easily lose 4 or 5 more and we'd be right back to where we were last year. and where the hell is troy. NBA? (hahaha). he's one of the most frustrating players i've watched in candy stripes, but we really need him to find his game for the stretch ahead.

BIG game thursday (pun intended). go hoosiers!!!
They have four games against top ten teams, two of them on the road, as well as a date with Purdue.

I'd take a 4-3 finish.

For some perspective, Oklahoma lost on the road by 11 tonight...to a team that was 2-7 in conference. Shit happens.

yeah. i'd be "ok" with that. i just worry that this team will pull another PSU in champaign or something like that. i think it was dreach who posted some time ago how he was amazed IU hadn't just shat their pants in some game yet, and i agreed.

but hey, let's finish out 7-0 and hang the banner!!!

I had a feeling this was a trap game, and it ended being correct. Damnit!!!!

Bad game, shit happens. Learn from it and bounce back Thursday.

Hopefully this game was a reality check and wake up call!

I didn't really view it as a trap game....I viewed it as one that was losable if we didn't execute. We were favored by 7 and we played about 10 points worse than normal.

Didn't take this game or team seriously and they got punched in the mouth. Serves em right for looking ahead.
Meh. To me that's always the easy thing to say. We got open looks, didn't hit them. And it's not like defensively we were giving a layup drill like we did preconference.
They clearly came out of the gates lackadaisical and unfocused. They turned it over 8 times in the first 10 minutes. They were fouling too much. And their defense was shitty.

Yeah, they figured out they had to actually come play and then it ended up they just missed a bunch of open shots. The D improved too. But it wasn't the 2nd half that cost them tonight. It was the first 10 minutes of the first half.

That was my biggest problem with us in this one. I know Bryant was in foul trouble but he still ended up playing something like 24 minutes and had 4 shots. 5 of Bielfeldt's 6 shot attempts were threes. We never tried to go inside until it was too late. We shot 2-18 from three at Minnesota but still won because Bryant and Bielfeldt were something like 15-20 from inside the paint. I don't know if it was something Penn State was doing on defense or what, but damnit...the guy's shooting over 70% and there were times when he was open and calling for the ball and never got it.

The other thing that drives me crazy is when we're playing that 3-2 zone and leave guys wide open for corner threes because the guy on the baseline on that side pinches in too far trying to help on the dribbler coming into the lane. That's what the guy in the middle of the zone is for...that other guy needs to stay home. Twice Troy or whoever it was did that and left Taylor, who was on fire, wide open in the corner...and he killed us.
