Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

they're 1-3 their last 4 games with the only win barely beating Minnesota at home
They've struggled of late but their resume is pretty solid. And they got the shaft with their league schedule having to go to Purdue Indiana and MSU Maryland.

The unbalanced schedule has really made these regular season league titles a bit watered down.
Only if you don't win it. I don't think IU is going to be less happy should they win the title. The whole 'title doesn't mean as much' is really something fans and announcers like to talk about but doesn't mean shit to any team winning or not winning the title. There hasn't been a balanced schedule in football in a LONG time and no one talks about a diminished title there.

BTW, comparison of team records with IU with the common opponent (with common venue) as IU and including their game or games with IU whether home or away:

IU and Purdue had 9 games in common so far plus their head to head game; IU went 9-1, Purdue went 6-4.
IU and Iowa had 9 games in common so far plus their head to head game; IU went 8-2, Iowa 7-3.
IU and Maryland had 10 games in common so far; IU went 8-2, Maryland 6-4.
IU and Michigan State had 7 games in common plus their head to head; both teams were 5-3.
IU and Wisconsin had 5 games in common plus two head to head matchups; both were 4-3.
IU and Ohio State had 6 games in common plus one head to head; IU went 6-1, Ohio State went 5-2.
IU and Michigan had 6 games in common plus their head to head; IU went 7-0 and Michigan went 6-1.

So where teams had common opponents and venues plus head to head games, NO team in the Big Ten put up a record better than IU. No other team can make that claim. Even if you remove the head to head games -- saying that one team might have played on one's team venue -- no team can still make the claim that they had a better record against common opponents.

Yes, IU had the easier overall schedule. But no team was able to gain ground on what was common to both.
This is one of the best researched posts on OHB. In true Brum style. Easier schedule yes. But undeniably shows the phenomenal season IU had and this really helps show it.
