Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Story on Cruz true or not? Thoughts?

Personally, I don't know. I'm more tired of the Trump twitter responses than I am of the story.

Stop with the Lyin' Ted and Little Marco remarks. Campaign like an adult. The margin between Clinton and Trump is 11.2% right now. Give the people a real option.

Had heard before this that Trump was connected to National Enquirer. Not surprising. Only thing that's surprising is that people would run with a story from the National Enquirer. Were these women aliens from another planet too?

It does seem that a number of people who were Rubio backers were pushing for the story to come up in the timeline sometime around March 10th through March 15th. This was in the hope that a Cruz scandal would help Rubio gain from Cruz voters prior to the Tuesday election that saw Rubio finally drop out.

It also does seem pretty confirmed that Trump is connected with higher ups in the Enquirer. However, the connection with the origin of the sex scandal stories doesn't seem to be coming from his camp. Could it have something to do with the release of the story? Could be. Seems awful convenient timing, especially given Trump's recent twitter feud with Cruz and with Cruz being the only candidate who could still possibly have any shot at winning.

I don't know if the rumors are true -- the timing of the rumors coming out seems very strange to me, as does the lack of what seems to be any of the supposed mistresses coming forward (I believe that those that have been identified from the NE pictures all deny it).

I just can't believe how little of a man Donald Trump has been in his response to all of this. It's like he and his campaign team are being run by middle schoolers.

I don't like Ted Cruz's politics one bit. But if I had one wish for this political season, it would be that Cruz somehow gets the nomination and the country gets to actually have the presidential election be about two very different political ideologies as opposed to the freak show that is Donald Trump......which by all accounts, doesn't even provide any kind of real choice in November.

I don't have an opinion on this. I think Cruz should have taken the high road and laughed it off. History has shown that anyone who tries to get down in the dirt with Trump ends up permanently soiled.

I don't know that the initial response was taking the high road (he did call Trump a sniveling coward)....but I don't think that it was disproportionate to how a normal person would respond to the childishness of Trump.

It is interesting to me that it's been three days since the story broke and there still hasn't been anyone backing up their story....just Roger Stone (a big Trump guy) saying 'if it's false, then sue us'. The whole 'if it's false, then sue' is flawed logic.....it's the middle of a primary and sueing now would do nothing more than more the story more prevalent in the news.

Didn't the washingron times and breitbart reporters confirm the story?

And, yes, I know they aren't exactly the most credible of sources, but it's something to go on the record to confirm a story. Breitbart likely isn't in the trump camp either after the simple battery charges against his campaign manager today...

If you are talking about Drew Johnson and the Washington Times, I'm not holding much credibility of what he says. While the story certainly could very well be true, from what it looks like he was nothing more than a minor contributor to the Washington Times who hadn't written anything for them in some time. The WT first said that they had split ways about a year ago, Johnson tweeted a pic of a check he received from them last month (the amount deleted -- I assume that he was probably on retainer but wasn't really a contributor any more -- and the WT then ended their agreement with him. Johnson seems to want to be the one who is confirming everything, but he really hasn't provided anything different than others who have said that the rumors were already 'well known'.

Don't know anything about the Breitbart source.

He said something about a word describing copulating with rats, which seemed a bit over-the-top. How does Cruz know that Trump's behind it? Blaming Trump w/o evidence made him look desperate, IMO.

It might have, but at the same time Trump had already gotten exceedingly personal by trying to make Cruz's wife an issue.

We do know that Trump is very, very close with the editor of the NE. He may not have been behind it, but he certainly knew the story was coming out.

I don't like Cruz but I wish this was the decision that voters would be getting instead of Trump and Clinton. And I say that with the belief that Cruz would have about a ten times better chance to win the presidency than Trump.
