Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

You would think they learned from Indiana's mistake, but nope!

New York and Vermont have now outlawed any non-essential, stat-funded travel to both states. Also, PayPal has canceled plans to build a new facility in NC.

Washington State issued travel bans as well.

Shame on Mississippi and NC. There are a lot of really hateful people in this world. It's too bad some of them hold positions of power in this country. Can't wait for the new laws to get overturned and further strengthen the path to LGBT equality in the US. How embarrassing...

Not the actual bill, only summaries. While it's being talked about as "the bathroom bill", in reality the problem is that it prevents cities and counties from passing ANY LGBT anti-discrimination laws.

1. Not a religious freedom bill.
2. How do you have an opinion on a bill you never read.
3. Have you read the ordinance that Charlotte passed that the state struck down?
4. Did you know a registered sex offender was the main supporter of the Charlotte Ordinance?
5. This was a strategic move ny the left and the right fell for it hook line and sinker.

1) Well I lumped it into the thread about Mississippi, which is a religious freedom bill. So sue me. Same general category anyways.
2) Unless we're discussing the minutia of the bill, I believe I've researched it enough to discuss it.
3) Yes. The ordinance added LGBT to the list of protected groups free from discrimination (race, religion, etc).
4) And?
5) And?

Ok. Well we're talking about it now. Feel free to enlighten me on what I may have missed.

So.......your accusation that he has only read summaries is countered by giving your summary (and with a completely irrelevant #4 and a bias #5)?

Why exactly should your summary hold more relevance than published summaries from legal experts?

Brum,

So? You are reading the same bill that the legal experts are analyzing. And they aren't doing so through the lens of being a North Carolina republican, they are looking at its legality.

The fact that you have already said that 'one of its main supporters is a registered sex offender' doesn't show me that you are attempting to look at the bill for its merits.
