I've already stated what it does. Thank you for linking the bill. After reading it, I can confirm that I was correct in my assessment. There were some other passages that caught my eye as well. Here's one.
This paragraph is defining what the protected classes against discrimination are. Notice "biological sex" is underlined? Notice there is no mention of sexual orientation? It's stating that LGBT people are not protected classes against discrimination. I mean, I'm sorry yer buddies are the ones who wrote the bill, but they get a fat 'ol F- from me on it. |

It says exactly what every summary I've read of it says. It even establishes a HORRIBLE guideline for even determining which single-sex bathroom is to be used. It states that biological sex is determined by birth certificate sex. It then states that 'single sex multiple occupancy bathroom and changing facilities -- every public facility shall require every multiple occupancy bathroom or changing facility designated for a person based on their biological sex.' So by this law, a woman who has completed a sex change operation is to use the woman's restroom and a man who has completed a sex change operation is to use the men's room. |

By saying that men use the mens room and women use the omens room that is horrible? I think it is insane that a need to pass a law to keep restrooms safe form sexual predators was needed is also crazy. |

So when a man has gone through a sex change, surgery and all, she has to go to the men's room now. And all the men will first be like, "what the fuck are you doing in the men's room?" The she has to tell them, "don't worry boys. It's cool. I used to have a dick." Not only does it not make sense, it's embarrassing and potentially dangerous. Why a politician thinks they need to tell people which bathroom to go in is beyond me. |

I think you're backwards on this one, BG. There's no reason for this law. All it does is increase the potential for even more abuse on the LGBT community...a community that is abused at MUCH higher rates than most, if not all, demographics. The sexual predator thing is a wedge based on flawed logic as well. There are far better ways to address sex preds than this boogeyman argument. Either way, this unconstitutional law won't be around for long... br |

Boiler, I think I've made my position pretty well clear, but you seem to indicate there is a different purpose to this bill. Can you elaborate on what the bill accomplishes or tries to accomplish that maybe I'm missing? |

You would have to ask the Charlotte City Council why they passed the ordinance in the first place. If you changed your physical sex you can change it on your birth certificate in NC Edited by boilergrad01, Apr 11 2016, 01:14 PM.

Which makes even less sense. Secondly, you don't have to be born in North Carolina to go to a bathroom in North Carolina. I guess if you were born in Ohio, which will not change sex on birth certificates, you couldn't have a sex change and then go to the proper bathroom in North Carolina. In terms of Charlotte's city council, then chose to make a decision on the issue. My question is why the so called party that wants decisions made more at the local levels decides at the state level to not allow them to do so. Edited by brumdog44, Apr 11 2016, 03:27 PM.

He did nothing to change the bathroom provision in the bill. https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-nation/wp/2016/04/12/deutsche-bank-halts-north-carolina-expansion-due-to-transgender-bathroom-law/ |

Bg, did the gov actually think he was doing something important or was he already aware that the politics behind the bill demonstrate that his state has decades worth of catching up to do with not just the rest of the country, but the rest of the world? Forever NC will be known as the originator of a discriminatory and unconstitutional bill that got overturned by SCOTUS. The Genesis of an eventual great step forward. |

So if you disagree with someone just make wild statements and insult them, then say the other side in not tolerant. |

What a red herring. Who on here has made 'wild statements and insulted' anyone? And why are you avoiding the fact that you said 'you spoke to the governor and he was changing by executive order' when in fact the executive order did not address the specific item we were talking about? |
