I'm not sure how we've survived all these years with bathrooms being a free for all. we haven't....we have had boundaries.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

you don't agree with the Charlotte Law You think the Charlotte law was unnecessary you think that just letting people use the other bathroom isn't the solution - noted that you have specified children here, but I believe that you also feel that a non-trans person should just use the bathroom of their biological sex
The side that you think you agree with, actually disagrees with you on all 3 points. Watch out.....brian might assume he knows your heart and call you a anti-trans bigot.
Correct: But important to note that while I think the Charlotte law was unnecessary, the law passed in response is what I am vehemently against. The Charlotte law was just putting into law something that was already inherently legal. Pretty important to note that I'm only referring to school children here. Letting people use whatever bathroom they think is most appropriate at the time is exactly my opinion, and falls right in line with the LGBT community.
we've probably covered this to some degree, but how do you define "appropriate" in your statement.
There's probably 1000 different reasons. As RKL mentions in his post, "appropriate" varies from person to person.
so in your world, is it basically just a bathroom free for all then?
TOTALLY. Every bathroom is going to be fucking crazy, man. Men, women, children, all doing their business loud and proud. Tampons are going to go flying and diapers will be smeared all over the walls. Sex....OMG...SEX....all the time. I can't wait.
good job avoiding the question
Oh are we calling people out for not answering a question after one post now? Ok. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5q27rSY39U"free for all" makes it sound like anybody can do whatever they want in the whatever bathroom they want. So the answer to your question no. It's not a "free for all". by "free for all" I meant that anyone can go into any bathroom they want because they feel it's appropriate. Is this your feeling on the issue?

I have to say I disagree with Mr President.
By using a Transgender bathroom every student in the school will know. It will just advertise the issue.
That will only increase the amount of Bullying that student will endure.
Kids can be cruel and no law or special bathroom is going to help the situation.
i don't think the President is calling for a "transgender bathroom"
Maybe he isn't. But, when a classmate that has been using the men's restroom for as long as you have known them suddenly starts using the ladies restroom??? Hello?? McFly?? Life sucks and is cruel. I was teased to no end when I was in elementary and Jr. high because I am short. And my middle name is Kelly and because my last named is pronounced like Lush. (BTW, not even spelled close to that, those darn Germans!) I don't remember anyone offering me elevator shoes, or changing my name.
I too am short and am not going to even begin to compare any sort of teasing to the discrimination a transgender individual would endure. That's just silly Not trying to compare.
Just pointing out that kids are cruel. And that isn't going to change, ever
No set of bathroom is going to help that.

Because I think LGBT should be a protected class... Making violence against transgenders based on their gender identity would make them a protected class. I don't see a bathroom bill doing anything to make them a protected class.
I'm not sure where the LGB comes in here.....many states already have LGB as a protected class. Are you saying that bathroom should not be based on either sex OR gender identity?

Private business don't even have to have bathrooms open to the public.
