Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

HA! FYI, the "you suck at cooking" video was the wrong link. Sending that to my sister who writes a blog all about beets.

Quoting limited to 10 levels deep
There's probably 1000 different reasons. As RKL mentions in his post, "appropriate" varies from person to person.
so in your world, is it basically just a bathroom free for all then?
TOTALLY. Every bathroom is going to be fucking crazy, man. Men, women, children, all doing their business loud and proud. Tampons are going to go flying and diapers will be smeared all over the walls. Sex....OMG...SEX....all the time. I can't wait.
good job avoiding the question
Oh are we calling people out for not answering a question after one post now? Ok.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l5q27rSY39U

"free for all" makes it sound like anybody can do whatever they want in the whatever bathroom they want. So the answer to your question no. It's not a "free for all".
by "free for all" I meant that anyone can go into any bathroom they want because they feel it's appropriate. Is this your feeling on the issue?
good job avoiding the question.

Yes.
I know you feel that schools shouldn't have to follow these rules, but what about other places that mostly cater to children, such as a water park or bouncy house facility? Should they have to let people go to the bathroom that they feel is appropriate?
I believe we're speaking about public facilities here, no? Private business don't even have to have bathrooms open to the public.
they are considered "public accommodations" if they serve food....so assuming they offer a bathroom at all, it would have to accommodate all. So, with that being said, how do you feel about the children's water park bathroom situation...my original question that you tried to dodge?

Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

we've had long long long discussions about "public accomodations" and how they relate to your inconsistency regarding smoking laws.

If you are against public smoking laws (despite it affecting other's health) but are for bathroom laws that keep one sex from entering the other bathroom (you have cited safety reasons), then that seems pretty inconsistent to me.

Anyway, private businesses are not subject to the NC bathroom bill nor Obama's executive order.

This. I wasn't avoiding the question. The question isn't applicable to private businesses. If the children's waterpark is located at a public swimming pool or something, then we can talk.

Dude.....this issue absolutely impacts private businesses. You are both wrong. According to the Charlotte law, any business who offers bathrooms to the public would have to allow a person to go to the bathroom they identify with. Not just public buildings.

That being said, are you saying that people should only be able to go to the bathroom that they feel is appropriate if they are in a public place? If so, define public place.

Why did you skip over the part about the inconsistency?

I will get to it. I'm trying to finish the conversation with dreach that you derailed. I want to understand where he's coming from on this "appropriate" aspect.
