Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

All these BLM stock photos are very concerning as well.

Denial is a scary place. It's hilarious how you give every liberal cause the benefit of the doubt, but in other situations you are ready to convict with next to zero info or evidence (gz)
If you'll recall, I took my medicine in the George Zimmerman thread, manned up and admitted I rushed to judgement. It's a shame you seemingly can't do the same here.
no medicine to take.....I am firm in my belief as to what these young women were doing. Unless you somehow believe that it was completely spontaneous that they all simultaneously put their fists up while having their photo taken.....well, then you've got me....and I'll take my chances on that one.

But maybe they all just randomly thought that they just made a game winning play and were fist pumping like an athlete, or perhaps they were doing yoga, or perhaps they were mimicking a Venezuelan gesture of defiance.

If it wasn't any of those ridiculous examples that brian and others posted, and it wasn't BLM or Black Power, or Black Panthers.....then what was it dreach. Just a sign of "solidarity" amongst blacks which also happens to directly imitate another historical and current symbol used to unite a black cause? Yeah.....that's probably it. Or.....we can all put our big boy pants on, stop playing the PC game, and admit what is pretty obvious. Not that I expect common sense to win out in this crowd.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

You sound like Trump more and more every day...although he actually trusts the military system. The same one that found they were not making that statement...

They covered their ass and took the easy way out. You can't prove the intent of the gesture if the girls don't admit it, so it's easy to "conclude" your investigation on the side that doesn't cause a stir from lefty suckers like you. Ridiculous, but that's the moronic world we live in.

What kind of crazy/scary/unjust world do you want to live in where an armchair QB like yourself can declare the intent of others?

I'm pretty sure you own a gun because you want to kill someone (maybe your own family member?). You may deny it, I may have no proof of that, but really that's what it is. Why? Because I decided that's the way it is.

I don't have to guess. I read the report.

Military and government reports are gospel to you now? Can we keep that on the record, or will it be selective depending on which side of be issue you would rather come down on.

Wrong. You would be making a random assumption based on nothing. I am making an educated assumtion based in common sense and circumstantial evidence. Nice try.

For the record, I am fine with the military finding, just as I would have been fine with it they had found that it was indeed a political activity and therefore subject to discipline. The 'Army Strong' commercials I have said previously and I mean it -- the military limits political activity. And this doesn't even remove their voice -- they may exercise their rights as citizens so long as they do so out of uniform and not as a voice of the military. They may donate to political campaigns....as citizens. It's no different that me not teaching my own political agenda in my classroom.

IMO, it's not a slam dunk case in the slightest which is why I'm fine with the investigation. If it were a slam dunk case, the Army Strong raised fist tradition wouldn't exist. Occurs at 0:56 mark of video.

John Burk, an Iraq war veteran, former drill sergeant and self-described "fitness motivator," wrote in a blog post that "this overt display of the black lives matter movement is not, in itself wrong, but to do so while in uniform is completely unprofessional and not in keeping with what the USMA stands for."

Lol. Now the West Point Cadets were doing it because...Beyonce.

Question aaron: Do you think West Point was afraid to reprimand the cadets? Did you read the report?
You do know the background of the Superbowl performance of 'Formation', don't you?

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jessica-bolanos-/11-references-you-missed-in-beyonces-formation_b_9196612.html

I have no problem with the performance in that we are talking about an event where the organizers of the Superbowl had obviously seen the performance or known what was going to happen prior to the Super Bowl and obviously had approved it. We aren't talking about someone sneaking something in like what happened with 'the wardrobe malfunction'. Bottom line, if you disproved of that performance so much, let the NFL know or let their sponsors know. Or boycott Beyonce or her recording company. Or don't care about it, or support the performance. That's your prerogative.

Yeah. And? Beyonce doing it in a performance while singing a song specifically about political and social commentary doesn't mean the cadets raised their fist in the air because Beyonce did it in the Superbowl. That seems like quite a stretch to me.
is it more of a stretch than the idea that these girls all decided to raise their fists for a photo, yet it had nothing to do with BLM or any other black "rights" movement? I think not.
Questions from earlier:

Do you think West Point was afraid to reprimand them? Have you read their report?

In this case, everything I read in the report sounds very normal and plausible so I have no reason to not believe it.

I'd be making an assumption based on the fact that other people have bought guns for those same purposes, so you must have as well. And it's that way because I said so. Truth or not...quit being PC.

if you think that the percentages are equal between people who buy guns to kill a family member and young black people who pose for pictures with their fists in the air as a symbol of black power, then you may be even more delusional than previously believed.

I don't believe that is the case...but as long as we're just making stuff up and ignoring facts, i might as well state that as a fact.
