We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! no medicine to take.....I am firm in my belief as to what these young women were doing. Unless you somehow believe that it was completely spontaneous that they all simultaneously put their fists up while having their photo taken.....well, then you've got me....and I'll take my chances on that one. But maybe they all just randomly thought that they just made a game winning play and were fist pumping like an athlete, or perhaps they were doing yoga, or perhaps they were mimicking a Venezuelan gesture of defiance. If it wasn't any of those ridiculous examples that brian and others posted, and it wasn't BLM or Black Power, or Black Panthers.....then what was it dreach. Just a sign of "solidarity" amongst blacks which also happens to directly imitate another historical and current symbol used to unite a black cause? Yeah.....that's probably it. Or.....we can all put our big boy pants on, stop playing the PC game, and admit what is pretty obvious. Not that I expect common sense to win out in this crowd. |

You sound like Trump more and more every day...although he actually trusts the military system. The same one that found they were not making that statement... br |

They covered their ass and took the easy way out. You can't prove the intent of the gesture if the girls don't admit it, so it's easy to "conclude" your investigation on the side that doesn't cause a stir from lefty suckers like you. Ridiculous, but that's the moronic world we live in. Edited by Mr Gray, May 11 2016, 09:07 PM.

What kind of crazy/scary/unjust world do you want to live in where an armchair QB like yourself can declare the intent of others? I'm pretty sure you own a gun because you want to kill someone (maybe your own family member?). You may deny it, I may have no proof of that, but really that's what it is. Why? Because I decided that's the way it is. br |

Military and government reports are gospel to you now? Can we keep that on the record, or will it be selective depending on which side of be issue you would rather come down on. |

Wrong. You would be making a random assumption based on nothing. I am making an educated assumtion based in common sense and circumstantial evidence. Nice try. |

You've been pretty blatant about trying to switch the actual topic here. |

For the record, I am fine with the military finding, just as I would have been fine with it they had found that it was indeed a political activity and therefore subject to discipline. The 'Army Strong' commercials I have said previously and I mean it -- the military limits political activity. And this doesn't even remove their voice -- they may exercise their rights as citizens so long as they do so out of uniform and not as a voice of the military. They may donate to political campaigns....as citizens. It's no different that me not teaching my own political agenda in my classroom. IMO, it's not a slam dunk case in the slightest which is why I'm fine with the investigation. If it were a slam dunk case, the Army Strong raised fist tradition wouldn't exist. Occurs at 0:56 mark of video. [utube]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPJP4qDQrSI[/utube] Edited by brumdog44, May 11 2016, 10:57 PM.

John Burk, an Iraq war veteran, former drill sergeant and self-described "fitness motivator," wrote in a blog post that "this overt display of the black lives matter movement is not, in itself wrong, but to do so while in uniform is completely unprofessional and not in keeping with what the USMA stands for." |

In this case, everything I read in the report sounds very normal and plausible so I have no reason to not believe it. |

I'd be making an assumption based on the fact that other people have bought guns for those same purposes, so you must have as well. And it's that way because I said so. Truth or not...quit being PC. br |

if you think that the percentages are equal between people who buy guns to kill a family member and young black people who pose for pictures with their fists in the air as a symbol of black power, then you may be even more delusional than previously believed. |

I don't believe that is the case...but as long as we're just making stuff up and ignoring facts, i might as well state that as a fact. br |
