How does a president's stance on guns affect the 2nd amendment rights of anyone?
There is this little thing called SCOTUS and the next POTUS will most likely nominate 2 Judges. This could drastically change the 2nd Amendment.
The second amendment isn't going anywhere....unfortunately. You gun people need to relax. I remember hearing for 8 years how Obama was gonna round up all your guns. Don't recall that ever happening... Don't really consider myself a gun "person", but of course the SCOTUS can have a major impact on the 2nd amendment.
This was in reply to Brian's question: "How does a president's stance on guns affect the 2nd amendment rights of anyone?"
The President's stance on all issues are important.
Each of us have different issues that are more important to us than others.

I'm well aware of the SCOTUS implications, but in what way, specifically, would that have a drastic change to the 2nd Amendment? Not trying to be a dick or anything, I just hear these claims all the time yet never know what they mean. br Repeal 2nd Amendment
Will this happen? No, at least I don't think so.
Nah, I don't think you're being a dick.
I like debating, but don't get worked up about much.

Donald trump says and is whatever will get him votes.
Are you going to vote for Hillary?
Yes I will likely vote against Donald Trump...but it's not like it's gonna matter in Indiana.
Do you not think that Hillary says and is whatever will get her votes? Have you been paying attention to the ridiculous string of serious lies she's told and is still telling regarding her FBI investigation? It's hard to fathom why anyone would consider voting for that.
Trump lies allllll the time as well. We democrats didn't ask for much from the republicans this year in order to get our vote. Romney 2012 and McCain 2008 would be getting enough of a share of the democrat vote that Clinton would be getting killed. There was multiple republican candidates this year that I would have voted for over. Anyway -- and not to be disrespectful -- I'm not sure why you would care that much about the e-mail issue. You've already said you wouldn't vote for someone that is pro-choice for president which makes anything else about her moot.
Do you seriously think that I don't care about other issues, such as honestry, integrity, freedom, justice, gun rights, taxation, spending, foreign policy, immigration.....etc?
Honesty and integrity is not an option this cycle! Clinton nor Trump have either
I am not voting for either.
I believe you aren't voting for Johnson either (I think you and I agree on him). I know you aren't a Stein person (LOL). What other candidates will make your state's ballot? Evan McMullin Is on my states ballot.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I don't like guns or the second amendment personally. But I accept its people's constitutional right to have them. Since guns are so imbedded in our culture for whatever reason what I want is compromise and to make our gun laws stricter. I have family and a lot of close friends who have guns and are responsible gun owners.

I almost referenced abortion in that post. I know people who personally don't like or approve of it but respect others rights to have one.

Same reason abortion stance is pretty much moot point for me. Roe v Wade will never be overturned, regardless of who is president and who they nominate for scotus. Roe v wade will likely get overturned as technology advances and continues to show the humanity of a fetus. You can find writings from ignorant people 150 years ago or so similar to your statement, but referring to the rights and humanity of black people.
Many people already view the fetus as a human, and many laws already recognize this such as homicide convictions when someone hurts a pregnant woman and kills the baby...etc.
