Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Here's an interesting little note. I'm visiting my parents in Florida and I noticed in their mail that I was sent my voters registration card. It appears that my voter's registration is automatically renewed unless I tell them otherwise. Of course, I can't vote in the upcoming election, but I believe that if I tried to, I'd get away with it.
that's because you are white.

Since our highly accurate poll in this thread points to a third party candidate being elected into office this year, I thought it would be worth posting an article about a third party candidate, Gary Johnson...

I think Johnson would impact trump more if he were a better candidate. As a libertarian, he has a few big flaws.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I love the irony in democrats supporting an old rich white establishment candidate with a strong history of corruption and a life spent in politics. Darn that 1%!!!

In her defense, Hillary does identify as a woman.

Yes, he has. His subsidies for the film industry and saying he would support a ban on burkas are two examples. Also, if he would articulate the libertarian position rather than just talk about how many items he vetoed as Governor of New Mexico he would do himself some a favor.

Think about what that says about who she is running against.

Does the addition of Pence to the ticket sway some of your guys over to the Trumpster?

You've been away from Indiana for quite a while now. He's got a negative favorability rating in his own state for a reason.

Anyway, VP picks don't really move the needle much, particularly with unfavorable candidates. Trump and Clinton's picks would mean much.

It's more of a "lack of gain" than it is a hurtful move. He just chose a bigot as a running mate...a reputation he's already built for himself.

Pence is not a bigot.

A lot of analysts feel he was forced into making a pick to try to make his base happy rather than try to expand it. It's not a pick that will make independents or liberals cross over the line. It certainly isn't going to play well with a group he has been trying to court (IMO, that was a losing battle anyway) in disgruntled Sanders supporters.

Ultimately, I don't think it makes much of a difference anyway. Dan Quayle performed pretty poorly on the national stage leading up to George H.W. Bush's election and Bush won easily. Biden said some goofy things as well, didn't keep people voting for Obama. VP picks don't really matter much.

How do you think the pick fairs with those sympathetic with LGBTQ causes?

http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation-now/2015/06/01/lgbtq-questioning-queer-meaning/26925563/
"Still, others identify with queer not because it's an umbrella term, but because of its connection to the rise of Queer Nation in the 1990s. Queer Nation is an activist group that first emerged in New York and used militant action to oppose discrimination to LGBT people and reject heteronormative ideals."

So anyone who doesn't think man-woman relations should be considered the norm can identify with the Q. Cool.
