It wasn't until Edgar started bring that Jade looked away. Shara managed to force her out of the seat and away as his shouts followed them. Jade put her face in her hands and cried the whole way to Mid'gha and Shara's shared quarters, where the matronly woman bundled her up, fed her hot tea and then took her daughter out into the hallway. Through her own warbling voice, Shara explained to her mother what happened. They wer eboth quiet for some moments. Then Shara whispered, "They will be punished tomorrow. I heard The Magus say so as we left, Mother. I... I do not wish to see it. Not for what they did."

Mid'gha nodded slowly, stoic brow furrowed in thought as Shara made to return to Jade's side. Mid'gha caught her daughter ina quick hug and whispered, "Pack a small bag, only what we need. Then talk to Alai in the stables. He is a friend but fears to flee, he will get us horses. Then Rest until I fetch you, my light."

Mid'gha held her daughter before her with a smile, SHara's eyes brightening with tears. Mid'gha gently wiped them away with her thumb then tilted SHara's chin up. Shara returned the smile with a determined little nod. Daughter disappeared, and Mid'gha squared her shoulders. It was easy to sink back into routine. It was not too late to visit the Sultan's chambers. She set off, the passing guards none the wiser.

She would do this for her daughter. She would do this for the two young boys she saw tormented every day. She would do this for the angel. ANd she would do it for herself.

Raka flopped to a knee as Dima approached. As his command, Raka reached a hand out then made a swift fist, stifling the flames roiling on Edgar and bringing them back to himself. That action made him a tad woozy though. He did however, as always, have energy enough for a snarl. He made no move to resist the pikemen, but he did smirk at them.

A sidelong glance at Walker confirmed that he was at least alive and moderately well. Raka spat a glob of blood from his lip onto the garden floor and he bowed his head low to Dima, pushing himself to his feet to folow the Pikemen. As he passed Walker he hesitated - then he offered Scorpio a hand up.
