When you're older you just want to stay young. Birthdays keep track of your age, so once it's your birthday you feel older. It's a horrible feeling unless you're a little kid who wants more freedom since so many things are age restricted, and parents can be very strict towards their children. There comes a point where you want to stop aging because you hate the thought of getting older. Why celebrate something bad like that?

I for one love birthdays, and I love making people feel special and valuable on their birthdays. I don't think birthday celebrations are overrated at all, because to me, I don't just think of it as a celebration of the person's new age. Instead, I think of it more as showing appreciation for someone by celebrating that person's very existence. :)

Birthdays are annoying. Celebrations are annoying. I'm an introvert and just want to be left alone.
