I los the will to write giant backstories beause my dm never read any of the backstories I gave him. He just screws up what little I give him anyways, so less is more in my opinion. I gave a backstory on my character sheet though... Not sure why I'd write it again... |

Nocturu's Wind of Change

That sucks. My friend took care of reading them, so he would have better interaction between NPCs and my characters and to better understand who he was playing with. Sometimes he would even creat situations linked to that character's past, given what is written on the background. @Sappy: Ah, now I understand. I didn't thought there would be a character limit here, so that thought never occured me. Well, Wolfe said to write what happened in the character's entire life, and should be aware that it would take a quite a text. I think it's ok to spread it over posts. That's what I'm going to do anyway, and if Wolfe wants that in a single post, then I'll cut parts what is not needed. Doesn't matter much, I'll just put the whole story in my MP3 (where I stock all my backstories), so there would be no waste of my imagination. And by the way, I appreciated reading your backstory, Leb. That's a kind of story I enjoy reading. Edited by Riffus Maximus, Jan 22 2011, 04:42 AM.

Thomas doesn't care if it fits in a single post or many. He will link all posts you make to the first page, either with for example; Vox's backstory part 1 or 2.

Currently at war with NovaSpork.

I WILL try to get something done in the coming week but I still wonder if I really have time to write something that big. It's a possibility that Wolfie returns before I have written my character's history, but I guess it's better to post it late than never. |

Even if he returns before I post it, I guess I'll do it anyway. That might give me something to do in my free time.

@ Shadow Max My Dm did that... Once? Then after that nothing. So I've just said screw it since. He screws me half the time anyways. I'm an abberation bloded sorceror, and somehow I permanently absorb a rod of woner thus making my spellcasting useless or worse, very dangerous for self. Given I'm n ENCHANTER, having my char monster spells highlight enemies or myself, or worse, accidentally sumon horrible monsters from another dimension to assault the party in a boss fight... Now he's turnedthe armor I need for class abilities in another game into an enemie scrying device, so it's impossible to ambush them or anything. Very irritating. And I can;t be rid of it, because it's that armor or I'm useless. I suspect he's trying to punish me for running rampant over the enemies. Maybe thats why you don;t send rogues after a fighter in platemail... |

Nocturu's Wind of Change

That's quite the story. Sounds like you're in the kind of trouble one of my comrade had when he was playing with us. A Druid afflicted by Lycanthropy. t'was the kind of crazy guy vying for power. Totally nuts. On another note, my backstory is up in the Book of Lore. I like doing my assignments as soon as someone give one to me. |

Meh, we jsut finished the capaign in a very anticlimatic fashion. We defeated the final boss by the gnome filibustering until the boss broke down into tears and went into exile. And so the heroes saved the day. |

If someone tries that in the next campaign, I'm eating the boss. Since I'm playing Val in that one. Mwahaha. Also, there wrote a story so I'm not the only one not doing it. It probably sucks. |

I find it quite interesting. Though I wonder where she picked up the habit of acting so strangely, since she looks like to be somewhat smart some times. |

She is smart. That's her playing at being a fool. It's a defense mechanism she uses to seem less threatening and ambitious then she really is. Same with her constantly smiling, though she admits it often seems more intimiating to humans. So she uses it for that too. If she says somethign stupid, or strange, it's almost always intentional. Though she has very weird perceptions, and is just odd at times. She often mae stupid decisions msotly based on ignorance in her past though. She is quite young for a demon she's 20 something. She left at a much younger age. |

I understand the concept. I was just wondering if it was apart of her past that made her having fun to act like this. |

When you are sort of the runt of the race, you learn to act the part of the harmless idiot to avoid just being killed. It's more fun to beat her and humiliate her then just kill her and everyone has a place to vent their rage since she's bottom ofthe totem pole. It's actually pretty common in psychology. The strongest takes out anger on the person under them. That person takes it out on the person under them. This continues down the line until you reach the bottom. You can see it if you follow along most organisations. Applies to most animals as well. Val just happened to be on the bottom there. So now she' going to flip the system for the world where she;s on top! |
