It was a question aimed at Rag since she said she'd whip up a post. But considering the small amount of stuff to comment on, maybe it's best that I get along with STUFF rather than force someone to whip up a few-liner.

Yeah, that sounds like a good plan. Val wouldn't know a thing about finding an Inn anyways. She'd probably end up dragging everyone into a crypt or something.

It's good enough for now, and we have a Tavern! Val is surrounded by OLD PEOPLE!

Don't bother to read my post if you aren't interested in the adventures of Cpt. LonewolfPhyron. Just know that I'm in a tavern at the end of it.

Captain lone wolf... the greatest adventure of them all... Captain LONE WOLF!

You know I think a good rp can be made with a lone wolf character just it must be a GM not a pc.

Then it's not exactly a RP.
More like, 'hey everyone join this thing to hear how awesome my DMPC is and how they get stuff done while you do NOTHING or never actually succeed'.

At least that's how it tends to turn out most of the time.
The story should never have to revolve around a single character that's actively controlled by a GM.

I agree with Leb there. Not everyone does. Why I'm not exactly looking forward to the next dnd adventure path after the one I'm running. Yay being the escort of the important npc for 6 entire books. Admittedly she's going to be a support class, probably bard, but still.

It's basically a story then. And not a cooperative one. If you're going to do that, then it should just be one pc and the dm then. I do it all the time on msn.

Agree with the two above. It's no fun when being the GMPC's shadow. Usually, the players are the stars , not the NPCs. That's why I've left my previous D&D game, because it was exactly like that. Probably due to my taste for free adventuring too. I like free-based RPs who're not based on storylines.

Personnally, I don't think it's so bad to have some lone wolf characters in a story. It kind of represents that you can create an interesting character without the "united we stand!" cliché, depending on how you play the character. I admit that my character is far from interesting the way he is now, but the concept remains.

You know what? It's just because I like doing stuff this way. No more, no less. So yeah, my taste is subject to disapproval or not.

So you trade the "united we stand!" cliche for the "one-man army" cliche. That is debatably better.

I prefer the united we stand cliche since then we at least have someone else to talk too. That and everything works better when each person has a niche. As is we have all fighters/spellswords haha. Val doesn't count, she's technically a non combatant by virtue of being useless in a fight.

Maaan, it's hard to do conversations when you need to cut 'em apart so they won't be too long or other PC's might get overwhelmed.
