Don't give me ideas. Because I will make it possible. I'm not afraid to bend reality and sanity to it's limits to get the desired results. Now hold still! Anyways, at least you aren;t using a katana. No offense to those using a katana currently, what you do with your cavalry sword is your business. |

you can make a 21 handed sword? Wow. And katana's aren't only made for calvary. Lets see you find a sword that literally weighs from 1/2-3 pounds. Also; Wolfie, how many names are you gonna rip off of World of Warcraft? O_O Edited by MrEddIsDead, Feb 2 2011, 01:50 AM.

300. And I can do it. I have the technology. And metal working. And know the local SCA group. Well see, the problem with weighing so little is... You're only good for killing someone no wearing armor. They were a cavalry sword for fighting militia as the samurais main opponents were almost always drafted militia in light to no armor. And they were mounted bowman primarily anyways. |

Master of Disguise. Possibly a Doppelgänger.

Lack of armored opponents in Japan had to do with their crappy metal sources/lack of metal sources too, so they did the whole FOLDING thing that katana's are oh so famous for. |

Yep. I wonder how they thought of it. But that aside, that's why I said Katana's were good for their era and region. Since few people had good armor, you didn't need weight, just sharpness. Somehow, and I primarily blame ff7 though I doubt it is the only genesis of this, people have come to the concluion that if you have a katana, you are god. I truely beleive that if there isn't a trope for this already, there should be one called Katana's Can Do Anything. So they are bloody everywhere now. I get a little sick of it. So it makes me happy to see so few of them for once. I think only one person with them this time. Now if we can get people to stop one haning two handed weapons without any balance issues, or being a giant or something, I'll cry great sobbing girl tears, haha. |

Nocturu's Wind of Change

If it's not some god-like characters that handle anything without issues, that would godly magicians instead or godly agile ninjas. I like katanas, but it's because of their style, not because I've seen it in video games, anime or mangas. Since I was a kid I loved swords, especially katanas. I didn't mind them before. But they've oversaturated everything, so I've grown sick of them. At least magicians make sense to be godlike, but I swear I've seen people use katanas to help their relationship problems rather then talking and succeed. Hence the trope name. It's a sword! It's a shield! It's a can opener, lock pick, girlfriend, sibling, WMD, windmill! It slices, it dices, it solves all your problems! Knocked your one night stand up? Press the hilt of the katana to her stomach, problem solved! Doing bd at tests, hold your katana while you study! Problem solved! Lost a limb? Replace it with a katana, better then new! Get yours now, we have an unlimited supply as katanas are everywhere! *Pants* |

Hahahahahahahhaahahahahahaha you got pantsed. Honestly, the only reason I like big weapons is they are usually meant to be one hit kills. Hence my favorite weapon, the Claymore. You don't want to get in it's way, armored or not. And I refuse to acknowledge Sephiroth's blade as a katana! It defies the laws of physics! What 15 foot blade can be swung around like a toothpick, and not break like one in the process!? And more importantly, how the HELL can it match a greatsword? Nag nag nag. I agree. Claymore is essentially a greatsword yes. Thats what heavy weapons were for really. Cleaving through armor into the nice soft squishy insides, and if not, probably breaking a few bones instead. |

Actually, there is a trope for that, though not the name you stated. I must admit I am guilty of it on a few occasions, including with Vox in this very RP. Then again, he does have a mount, so it isn't completely unfounded. Edited by Captain Sappy, Feb 2 2011, 06:43 AM.

I think my name is better but there we go. And yes, I'm not saying anyones characters are bad due to katana. I'm not that arrogant. Yet. But I do kinda hope to get through one fantasy game without seeing one handing oversized weaponry or a katana without expressly forbidding it. |

Great! Wouldn't hurt. Light? Internal damage? Does this mean you going to light up my stomach? *giggle sniggle* Just make it do internal damage without any element. But I will watch how you use this ability. Inside lighting! Touche. Much better. If anybody points out something I should address then please do. Other then that you can start roleplaying. But still do what I said above. ![]() Edited by Masterwolfie, Feb 2 2011, 02:36 PM.
