RP THREAD BEHIND THIS CAPS-DEPICTED LINE OF TEXT

So on a random trip over to the Lucian PF I noticed an old RP of mine had it's OOC necro'ed. Well out of curiosity, I checked out what I wrote 2 years ago and the stuff there was... Well, at least amusing to read.

Quote:

The kingdom of Peacehills had enjoyed centuries of the good life. The land was plentiful in animal and plant, both which the peasants helped themselves to eagerly, with knives, and sticks, and bear hands, if they had them.

But then, a horrible darkness fell upon the kingdom. No one is sure when exactly this horrible thing happened, but they were pretty sure it started when the dark clouds gathered above them and rained for seven days and nights non-stop.

Many farmers were soaked wet, and obviously unhappy. They marched to the King's castle, and demanded that there either be change, or there be a new King sitting on the throne by the end of the week!

The fact that most of the castle guards were on break at the moment unnerved the old King, who thought furiously of the situation.

How to please his people? What should he say.

In the end, he walked to the balcony and all the angry peasants silenced themselves. No one spoke a word, until the King opened his wise old mouth.

"MONSTERS!"

Truly this horrible cataclysm can only be the work of forces of evil! Far too long have they plagued the land with their wretched aura, that wilt's the grain, scares the goats and makes boys turn into bards!

The people were confused at start, granted how they didn't know what "monsters" were, until the King pointed them out to be the horrible beasts that lurked the dark corner's of the world, and preyed upon the weak.

"Ooooh." said the people in unison.

Suddenly it made me realize how I miss writing kooky things like that. Especially when the whole thing was supposed to be a RP.

Well, it wasn't really that successful although I blame myself for that, since the whole thing was me putting the PC's against horrible monstrosities, each more horrible than the last(we barely got to the 2nd one after the 1st ran away after killing several PC's).

So what does this mean?

It means that once again, it's time for the realm of Peacehills to come to life! A generic fantasy world, plagued with horrible creatures, oddjob magic linking dimensions together in such patchwork manner that your grandmother would be ashamed, and of course more treasure and dungeons to plunder than you could successfully shake a stick at and roll a hit with a d20!

However, I thought about taking a bit different method of throwing a plot at the PC's general direction.

Right now the idea I got is that the players take turns in moving the plot forward. For example...

Player 1 has the King assemble the finest of heroes in his castle!
Player 2 suddenly discovers that the King is a vampire and the PC's are to be his next meal!
Player 3 however discovers that no, the King is actually a zombie! But yeah they're all going to be eaten.

As the GM I would of course have the luxury of throwing in extra gears to the wheels of story, in case someone doesn't have any idea what they could do.

Although, just because it's your turn to do something for the plot doesn't mean you HAVE to do it.

So, you think you got what it takes to join a braindead RP where we most likely will not learn anything at all, except how much we can hate each other for coming up with ridiculous plot threads?

I am interested for the sheer enjoyment of inflicting my twisted ideas upon others without having to be a gm.

Oh this surely sounds interesting because making things up on the go is the only RPing style I am actually half good at.

Now is the time to change that! In fact, you can start throwing around plot ideas already in this thread, like where you'll start and whatever you can think of. Or just put down what is the situation currently like at Peacehills.

Dammit Fishtank, why can't you take our online escapades where we delve into a magical wonderland full of goblins, dragons, fire-spitting trees and cutebolds seriously!?

EDIT: Approved.

Also due to lack of thrown ideas as of this point IT IS MY DUTY AS THE GM TO KICK THINGS OFF

SO HERE WE GO EVERYONE

That is what is expected of you.
Let's take this RP to a whole new level of... I don't know.
Meta-gaming? Ridiculous plotlines that intertwine in unpredictable ways and weave together something of a plot in the end?
