It's also the cause of wars, helps battles become even more bloody, is the cause of the slaughter of millions, and can alter reality to serve the casters means.

I still don't see why guns aren't a viable means to kill a mage. I only see two characters capable of countering a gun especially from a distance, and one of them can do anything for a price and the other was designed to be damn near immortal.

Other then the 9 out of 10 cases that guns jammed. The fact its a secret war and most people who uses guns don't know of the situation. But also because every agents doesn't exactly go out on the field alone. They always occupied by at lest one who can cause guns to be too inefficient to be used as a weapon against Rune wielders.

There are far more Rune wielders who has the aura to cause such effect with guns then there is people without the ability. Also it's a deliberate Roleplay thing to stop PCs to get guns and headshot the others.

None of the character sheets here say anything about that kind of aura. Plus, it contradicts what you told us so far. You say even if the Runelord isn't paying attention, he has enough magic power to dismantle a bullet before it can hit him, yet when outside of combat they seal their powers to avoid being tracked?

Plus if the Runelords continously give off an aura like that without a detrimental effect on their fighting ability, that means all of us could spam are spells for ridiculously long periods of time based off the mana we must have.

Even if you had mentioned this as one of the rune abilities, since you took the time to list other universal traits, it wouldn't seem plausible to me. It seems like you just don't want guns in your RP and couldn't come up with a good reason why.

They don't dismantle the bullet. The magical aura given off causes the copper jacket of the standard bullet to expand causing the gun to Jam. It's a simple and useful trick. Also...

I tell you what I told Leb.

Guns are a major factor within this roleplay. The only reason why a modern force of soldiers haven't wiped out the two organisations is because of one. They have learned ways to counter the design of a gun, while magic is flexible and can adapt. Guns cannot. The Secret war plays a major part of the psychology against gun wielding users. Most of the agents don't use such equipment because its too inefficient. This doesn't stop people using warheads, explosives or infact silver coated bullets.

Anti-magic teams aren't formed yet. This is because agents of both organisations are everywhere to make sure this doesn't happen. However I can spoil it for you and everybody anyway. One such team will emerge.

I also can hit you over the head with a gun. Sure it's not the best plan and I'm better off clawing or spiking you, but if I don't want to wreck you, Can always hit you with a gun over shooting you. As a general rule rely on absolutely nothing. Since that is the only thing you can rely on.
