Would making his skin into thick scales be the 'Alter' skills? Otherwise I forgot something about Noname.

Thought that only counted for animals. Though he could shapeshift into a turtle.. or something along the way. Could he do fast enough when being shot at however? xD

Lots of animals have scales. He would just make them thicker.

And it would take about 5 seconds for it to be thick enough.

Why bother? By the time I'm close enough to slash someone, I'm swiss cheese. After all, I deal with non mages far more often than mages. And if a sword is more effective on a mage than a gun, I'll have a much easier time just using my usual trick than bothering with trying to use it at all.

I say we should all have our own way to stop bullets, or dodge them or whatever.

It seem to me that Drummy and Digdog didn't even bothered to read what I said or mistaken something for what I said. I never ever implied every Rune wielder had a defense.

Quote:

Other then the 9 out of 10 cases that guns jammed. The fact its a secret war and most people who uses guns don't know of the situation. But also because every agents doesn't exactly go out on the field alone. They always occupied by at least one who can cause guns to be too inefficient to be used as a weapon against Rune wielders.

Meaning agents that can't defend themselves against guns are occupied by at least one who can make a difference against them. This implies that not everybody had a defense against the bullet.

Not to mention that, if really every single mage would have found a way to disable guns, the people would have already invented different/modified guns/ammunition.
Wrong. Let's take another quote back from what I said. Oh its above.

It's a war waged in seceret. The public and goverments not controlled by either group has no clue of magic exists. No one lives to tell the tale or they mysteriously forget the encounter.

Yeah sorry Wolfie, but I have to agree with Drummy and Digdog on this one. We're expected to believe that every single mage has a way to render bullets almsot(if not completely) useless. This includes mages whose runes are both matured and unmatured. Seems like too much of a stretch for me to buy. The only way I can see abilities like that being plausible is if it required special training that took years to even use, much less perfect.
Again I never implied every rune wielder could render bullets useless.

I have the solution! Which someone else will provide, brilliant isn't it?
Look, it's clear Wolfie doesn't wants us using guns against each other.. or at all.. not sure. Well, for a start, let's agree not to use guns. Or something.. that wasn't really the solution, the solution is this:

Wolfie asks US if WE know of an effective way to counter those pesky lil' guns.
I already did but those two arguing never even bothered to offer a solution.

As it was said, there's numerous facts of how to stop bullets, but to actually prevent the mess when you don't know when it's comming? I doubt anyone would be able to evade a bullet that was shot from behind at point-blank distance if you don't have protective measure already placed on you.
With the magic ability to expand the copper jacket of the bullet it would stop those type of situations. However I figured it would need to be specific and not effect other copper items like wiring. Which would mean Drummy would be right when it comes to requiring more mana.

If you want to stop guns, would it not be simpler just to ruin the spring or the hammer?

There's a problem with that though. Usually, mages hide themselves from others by hiding their mark. However, a mage that uses his sense ability would be able to detect that field emanating from an individual, since that person brns his own mana to use that ability.

You can't really use any magic while hiding your mark other the sense. It could be possible even with your mark hidden with the use of items like wands.
