1) What is an RP?
RP is an acronym for Role-play. A role-play involves creating characters and using them to interact with a fictional world. We use text as a medium for this here.

2) How do I know if I'm doing a good job?
You can tell how you are doing with feedback from other players. While compliments have been given in OOCs before, the best place to do this, is in the Role Playing Guild, a sub forum specifically designed for this purpose. Feel free to start a thread there to post your Role-play related works.

3) What is "god-modding"?
God-modding is when you make something you did immediatly suceed without anyones chance to respond. God-modding is against the rules.

Power-playing is a term related to and often confused with God-modding. Power-playing is when a player character is too powerful for the current conditions of the RP. All characters in an RP should be around the same power level, while filling different niches with different specialties. God-modding makes others feel inferior, makes the guilty party look egotistical, and breaks the rules.

4) What is "Bunnying"?

Bunnying is controling a Player Character that is not your own. It is closely related to god-modding and is against the rules. See the first Role-Playing Rules for more details.

5) What is a "GM"?

GM stands for game master. Game Masters are the creators of the RP, and are responsible for guiding the main plot. You can read more in section 9 of the Role-Playing Rules.

6) Can i use a character from another RP?

As long as your character fits into the world of the RP (a character with a Uzi doesn’t belong in a fantasy RP), and you modify the background to fit the world if necessary, you can. Full crossovers are allowed at the GM’s discretion.

7) How often should I post?
Often enough to keep the story moving, but sparingly enough for everyone else with you to keep up. If you are with a group of players, you should wait for their input before moving too far ahead. You should adjust your post rate accordingly to the activity of the RP.

8) Can my character be killed off by another player?

No. Characters may not be killed off without the player’s permission. There is one exception. The GM may kill off players at will (with in reason) if they inform players they intend on doing so in the RP sign-up before it starts.

9) If I don't want to post in an RP I've already participated in, what do I do?

This is up to you. There are a lot of options. You could isolate your character from the rest of the group, so you can come back if you change your mind, without holding up the story. You could kill of your character, but then you would have to create a new one if you wish to come back. You could also give others permission for to Bunny(control) your character, but that may lead to improper portray of your characters.

10) If I make a bio for an RP, do I have to join it?

No. Creating a character is not a commitment to join.

11) Can I play more than one character in an RP?

That decision is up to the GM of the respected RP. While you may not be allowed to create multiple characters, you may create NPCs.

12) Who can I ask for help from if I'm having trouble gathering ideas?

The GM of the RP is probably the best option. Other player character can help too. The RPing section is full of knowledgable friendly RPers willing to help newbies, or others suffering from writer's block.

13) What's this OOC everyone keeps talking about and what is it's purpose?

OOC stands for Out of Character. OOC threads are where people discuss, ask questions, and make plans for RPs.

14) Someone is not going by the rules of the RP. What do I do?

First, bring it to the person’s attention, and try to talk it out. Remember to be polite while doing so. There is a difference between pointing something out and discussing it with someone, and badgering them. If you cannot work it out, bring it to the GMs or the Admin's attention.

15) Is it okay for the GM to tell me what I should post?
Game Masters set the rules for their RPs and the limits of the world, and have control over the environment. However, the GM cannot tell you what your character is aloud to act. That would be bunnying.

16) I have an idea for an RP. Can I just start it or do I need approval first? What do I do to get approval?

You don't need permission to start an RP. But it is generally a good idea to get opinions on your idea in the Role Playing Guild.

Like I said in the rule, perhaps adding a section for meta-gaming could be good.

Sounds good, since I myself am not fully aware of all RP-terms yet. Like meta-gaming, don't exactly know what that is.

Isn't that already in the rules in Player knowledge vs. Character knowledge.
