Himari nodded an affirmative as she headed towards the main door. There was a small closet to the left, where her impossibly neat mother kept a few things, including their rain coats and boots. She pulled her own around her slender frame and, after a moment of hesitation, turned to offer Ashiru the one usually worn by her father. If Ashiru were to refuse, the pink-haired girl would have to insist; it was bad enough that the boy was risking a cold just so she didn’t worry herself sick over a pet.

Except he isn’t really a pet.

Himari anxiously shuffled out into the rain, the harsh slap of cold wind pulling a gasp from her lips. in her mind, she turned over her previous thought, examining it carefully. No, Koumori was by no means a pet, but the fleeting memory of his questioning eyes trained on her while he fingered the buttons on his borrowed shirt made something in her heart stir. She felt responsible for him, regardless of whether he was capable of taking care of himself or not: she wanted to find him, if only to make sure he was safe.

“Where are we going?” She asked, turning her storm grey eyes towards Ashiru, completely trusting him to lead the way.

Ashiru took the coat with no small amount of trepidation. After all, one never knew just what one might find in the pockets of one of dr. Matsuharu coats. Past discoveries had included, most famously, neon yellow nail polish, toe nail clippers, the missing pieces of one of Himari's jigsaw puzzles, wadded up pages from some unfortunate book, a kazoo, a rolex (that to this day they had no clue where it came from, or what became of it after.) Mouse bones, a hairnet, and, most horrifyingly, a rancid piece of sushi. (That to this day, Ami was still tramatized from touching.)

Pulling on proffered coat, and closing the door behind him, vaguely hoping that the rain had cause the bullies to run for home. Ashiru started down the street past Himari.

Throwing a glance back over his shoulder at her question.

"The Kinsenagi building construction site. Ichisaki and his idiot friends caught your bat earier and took it there..." No use lying right? Hopefully Himari would have an attack of rare self preservation and realize that getting yourself beat to a pulp over one animal was a stupid move...

'Not that that "thing" was an actual animal...' Ashiru thought grimly. 'Does Haru know what it really is?'

He eyed the small girl, whose head bear reached his shoulder, and studied her reaction closely.
