Seven Hearts

review by harrow

Hear ye! Hear ye! Seven hearts is not a new game but it's worth a peak. Since the original ROSE system evolved, this game became an alternative even though it's just a private server. But will it be able to satisfy our gaming urges?

Seven Hearts is a private-owned game that runs on donations (with reward items). The game is 100% free to play and has no limitations besides the donation items. At first glance, it looks like FLYFF or Scions of Fate but it plays differently in many aspects.

Graphics 9/10

The graphics of this game is so versatilte, there are many ways to adjust it to synchronize it to your computer specs. No matter what your settings maybe, the game looks decent at least and breathtaking at most. If you favor realism, this game may not be for you but the 'cutesy-fantasy-please cuddle me' graphics excel in this game.

Sounds 7/10

The sounds are not bad either. The fantasy feel is always there. It's sometimes nostalgic specially if you have played console RPGs. There are times that the music is too repetitive but you can't help but to switch it on once in a while. On the other hand, the sounds effects are average in this one.

Gameplay 9/10

The game has been around for a while and is a product of good gameplay. The game is pretty well balanced all through out. Classes excel at different things and there are also many types of builds (of both stats and skills) you can experiment on.

There are various features in the game that you sink your time in. Of course, it includes the usual training for exp. Besides that, you can do quests, kill bosses, craft and vend as well. Other features are: cart system, party level system, guild bases/areas, faction, wars and events.

Since this is a private server, we do expect high exp rates, like most private servers having even over 30x the normal exp rate. But this game offers 3 times only (35 times on pk server). This is actually good specially for new players. It's enough to help players in learning the game without making it too slow for pro players of the game.

The server also offers exclusive items that you can only see on the server. Which is great since we don't want a regular ROSE server

Learning Curve 8/10

The basics of the game is easy to learn specially of a typical mmorpg gamer. But some things in the game might be confusing like knowing where to go and getting there since at first, you walk really slow. Because of these reasons you will probably spend about 1-2 hours learning the game. You will also commit a mistake or two.

Community 9/10

The community is small but very active. Small compared to regular servers but for a private server, this community is not bad. The size of the community is enough to meet people every once in a while but sometimes you'd wish you'd meet more clerics to buff you... but if you did, most clerics (high levels) are nice enough to buff you without asking.

Overall the community is nice, you'd meet one or two douchebags sometimes but it's not really worth worrying about.

Overall 8/10

The game is solid, it passes all standards of a typical MMORPG (if not, it surpasses them). The only gamers that will not like this game are those who prefer realistic graphics but other than that, it sits just well as a well made MMORPG. You'd often forget your playing in a private server.

You are not a customer on a private server ;)

Please read the installer instructions on the thread link below:

Read to achieve, Life is less of a struggle if it had a manual --- This time it's not a life but it's a game download, and there's a manual. Complaints are best when a solution is not found. Real complaints are a product of extensive research.

Actually, if your playing on that server, you are a customer x] and customer doesnt mean you have to buy :3
And im pretty sure i know its not a life cause you cant download one :P

Also, to the point that real complaints are through extensive research, i followed that install guide. BUT when i am downloading it, it gives me a 'download failed' error. So then what :P
And when i try clicking on the file (auto downloader and installer) again it trys to download the whole thing again

Uh... u didn't read the guide. You are not suppose to download through the launcher. You need a PKG file from the website and right after the download, paste that PKG file on the same folder you have the launcher and double click the launcher. The launcher will not download anymore and will just run like an offline installer. The PKG file is easier because a good download manager like ORBITZ or FREE DOWNLOAD MANAGER (through FLASHGET) can get the files without corrupting them even if your connection dies down, your pc crashes or anything else in between.

Again, you are not a customer, you became part of the community. A customer is:

This private server doesn't have anything for purchase and mainly runs on donations. If you donate, you are considered a donor.

If you want cheeseburgers, and you see the last cheeseburger on earth, you do everything to get it. If you don't want it, you can simply say you don't and never try again

It's hard to get people back together again especially when everyone is stuck playing other games. It is not impossible to make friends in 7hearts like all the other games we play. But if we decide to quit someday, you know that not everyone or no one at all will join us in our next game. People are opinionated, and sometimes sentimental.

You can't force everyone to eat cheeseburgers if they want salads.

You can find other people who want cheeseburgers just like you, as long as you search for them you will find them.

Alright harrow take the customer thing this way.
Go to IJJI, NX (nexon), or any other major gaming companys website that ONLY offers free to play games.
When you submit a help ticket to them what does it say, request customer support, customer service, or its the customer support area. YET your not buying anything from them.
Your still thier member, customer :P

You are a customer there because you are in a public server, it offers customer services free of charge. Now go the game WE ARE talking about, the game is not even close to a regular public server.

A non-profit game. How can you be a customer if there is no business?

Let me translate a popular saying in my country:

If you want it - there are many ways.
If you don't - there are many reasons.
