The scion was probably just imagining things. Given that he'd left Hotel Zetsurin after a night of privacy with Kiyoko, it was only natural to be a bit nervous - not because of the woman or what they'd done, but because it was, at the end of the day, a love hotel. It seemed like the shadows jumped out of the alleyways as he passed them by, causing the ordinarily stoic youth to walk just a bit faster than normal. Only after several minutes of aimless wandering did it hit him: at some point, he'd taken a wrong turn. Zetsurin's dimly lit streets had made it an easy mistake to make, and the moon wasn't exactly all that bright, either. As the familiar buildings had been replaced by an empty street filled with abandoned buildings, the scion - for the first time in a very long time - began to feel a degree of fear. As he turned around, it felt as though there were eyes upon him. Every alleyway was a gamble, as who knew what sorts of people would take advantage of a young, frail, feminine-looking man like himself? Especially given how well-dressed he was for the area. Frankly, one had to wonder if they were just waiting for an opportunity, like a predator toying with their prey. But who knew, maybe those criminals didn't exist at all, right? |

The neon lights of seedy business on disused streets provided paltry lighting as Kiyoshi made his way through the sordid neighborhood. He came to do some Tsujigiri, and he intended to practice it on those deserving of it, however there seemed to be nobody around. Perhaps they were afraid of him, or perhaps it was his outlandish garb. he wore an overcoat over his kimono, a low straw hat that helped to disguise his identity, and old style sandals, a bokken was slid under his obi. There was no question that he was eccentric and perhaps they had heard of his previous outings. however he had devised a new technique and needed to see how it would fare. He did not want to catch anyone innocent. Suddenly he was pulled out of his reverie by a commotion a couple of blocks over, he cut through an alley way and headed towards it, it sound suspiciously like men of low character accosting a woman. |

For the first time in his life, Rei didn't want to be right. Unfortunately, it seemed like he was. As he passed by one of the boarded up shops lining the street, several figures in a nearby alleyway began to move. Rei didn't dare look back, and instead walked faster to avoid them - but their skulking also increased in speed and cut him off. The three men stood close, backing the scion against a nearby wall such that they were each blocking one of the three possible escape routes: forward, left, or right. "Are you lost? Maybe we could show you the way home?" At first, they feigned kindness - though their leader's tone was like that of a snake. Blinking those navy eyes of his, Rei became mortified that this was actually happening to him. Shaking his head rather than giving any kind of verbal response, he immediately realized just how stupid meek refusal was. A bat. A knife. He hadn't noticed them before due to his panic, but there they were in the men's hands. "Listen here, ya little shit. I'm not asking you, I'm telling you - you're coming with us whether you like it or not... Or you could just give us your wallet. We can do this the easy way, or the hard way. You understand!?" As another figure came into view, his expression became one of surprise rather than fear. Was that really --- he must have been hallucinating. Some kind of ronin, in this day and age? The kimono would have been enough, but the sandals, overcoat, and hat seemed like a kind of ghoulish overkill. Immediately, he pointed - but the thugs refused to look. |

"stop right there Knaves!" Kiyoshi commanded; his deep voice and archaic speech pattern sounding like something from an old samurai movie. Turning they would see a ronin that walked of the set of a movie and into their turf. There had been some rumors of a guy like this walking around beating the crap out of people randomly with a bokken, but here he was. He looked kinda eccentric, either an idiot or completely off his rocker. "Alright i'm going to give you five seconds to clear off before we beat you senseless." Kiyoshi took an Iai Stance as he prepared himself. The leader of the group nodded to the baseball bat guy. He stepped forward and moved forward to swing. as he drew his arm back Kiyoshi uttered a mighty Kiai as he drew and smacked the man hard in the face with his Bokken, stunning the man as he followed through with a flurry of attacks causing the guy to drop his bat. Finishing the combo he kicked the man onto his back. At this point the others charged in there was a flurry of motion with the knife, punches kicks, and the ever present bokken always finding a way to hit it's mark. Eventually the ruffians had enough of it and decided a tactical retreat was in order, dragging the former bat wielder they moved through a nearby alley as kiyoshi turned to bow to the woman he saved. "I have shown the ruffians away milady your chastity is no longer in danger, shall i escort you to safety ?" he offered, "It is dangerous in this area." he kept his hat down low so it wasn't easy to see who he was. |

Although almost entirely certain that the ronin was absolutely insane, the scion was all too grateful for the distraction. At first, he wanted nothing more than to retreat when the thugs charged forward but at the same time, he wanted to see how this little scuffle played out. It wasn't every day one got to meet a modern samurai, and the sheer insanity of the situation meant it was just something he had to experience. Every so often, he instinctively flinched - but when the deed was done and the man approached him, the pharmacist found colour blooming against his cheeks. When he spoke, his tone was that of a man - a surprised, slightly annoyed, calm and airy one... But definitely a man. "M-Milady!?" A sharp sigh escaped him at the very thought. Immediately, one hand went to smooth his hair from his face - and at last, a smirk graced his features. Perhaps it wasn't so bad, being mistaken for a woman - especially if it got him out of scrapes like that--- No, it was still annoying. "I suppose I'm in your debt, however. I would appreciate your escort, though I'm curious as to why you're dressed like that and out here at this hour. If you're some sort of vigilante, then I'll applaud your efforts - perhaps I'll even reward you, if you're willing to share a meal with me sometime." |

Kiyoshi noted his mistake and apologized. "I'm very sorry it can be hard to tell in the dark like this still..." he noted the tone and the archaic styling that the man before him spoke with. "I see, I wear this because it is my custom although i was doing a special activity tonight, hence the style of outfit..." he then noted being called a vigilante. "Oh nothing of the sort, quite the opposite actually. tonight i am nothing more than a somewhat merciful Tsujigiri." He did note the offer of a meal, that was something Kiyoshi could not turn down. "I see, yes i think we could break bread together, if you would be willing to do so with a tsujigiri." he shrugged. It was not the most honorable thing to do, but it was the best way for him to improve. |

The male simply gave a nod of acknowledgement, since it was an easy mistake to make. Those same thugs who'd tried to rob and take advantage of him had probably thought the same thing - and if they did, it didn't matter; they were gone, and the situation had been averted thanks to this particular tsujigiri's actions. It seemed like the more the ronin spoke, the more Rei's outward appearance seemed to adopt a mixture of confusion and interest. Was this person really that crazy - and not a part of the Takeda/Nakura family? It almost made him want to ask if they were related, but doing so would have proven disastrous given his mother's hatred of virtually anything Japanese. Meanwhile, the scion found himself torn; on the one hand, he was rather excited - it was a childhood fantasy of his from all of those history books... But at the same time, insanity was insanity - even if it was chivalrous in nature. "Your actions are irrelevant to me, because they benefited me. They were just, and interesting." He noted, then continued - finally moving to walk with the ronin beside him. Sighing softly, rei adjusted his tie - then the navy dress shirt he wore. "I am Rei Nakura. Obviously, it was a pleasure to meet you." |

Kiyoshi chuckled to himself. "I see your judgement of my actions is simple and reasonable. I appreciate it." He stated as he set the pace towards better parts of town. Although the streets had been busy before they seemed dead, even at night. "A pleasure to meet you Nakura-Shi, I am Akamine Kiyoshi." he says rather extravagantly given the circumstances. "I see that you are here late at night, what was it that you were doing that led you to cross such ruffians." |

The male practically beamed when Kiyoshi referred to him using the honorific -shi, mostly because he thought that he was the only one who still preferred it in the whole of Japan. It was archaic, and yet Rei had always liked the kind of detached formality it produced - the very same detached formality that, interestingly enough, he was now treating the ronin with (between bouts of his true, appreciative self coming out). At the samurai's question, he seemed to hesitate for a second. Not only would it have been wrong to say he had been to a love hotel with his "companion" for the evening so they could actually get some privacy (as his sister had invaded the apartment again and refused to leave), but taking a wrong turn was rather damning to one's pride. After a second, Rei replied calmly. "I'm afraid I took a wrong turn, and when I realized it I got wrapped up in that." Then, he continued as the lights began to grow brighter and the streets less desolate. "So, what would you prefer, Akamine-shi? I don't mind anything myself, though even if I did... it would only be fair for me to treat you to something you like. Perhaps sushi? Ramen? I'm not sure what's open at this time of night..." |

Kiyoshi looked at rei and admitted sheepishly. "i did not bring my coin purse on this excursion, did you have any ideas of anywhere cheap to eat, for i do not wish to overburden you with expense of feeding this Tsujigiri." he admitted gas he nodded, "do you have anywhere we might perhaps talk?" he said as he shrugged, he didn't feel OK burdening his rescuee with feeding him. it didn't seem bushido enough. |
