"Likewise, Nice too meet you." Saki said back after the genius introduced herself. She just wanted to ask further about Mai's studies but the girl said not to worry about it too much. So she won't ask, instead she listened to the two other girl's explanation. "Oh that's what it meant, thanks! So it's just good luck?" Saki thanked to two girls as she completely ignored the others girl boasting. Saki already realized she was smart, because otherwise she wouldn't speak in English that easily. She also realized that she herself came over as an idiot a bit, but some sacrifices had to be made. It wasn't like she really cared what these people thought of her, but if they thought positively of her that would be a plus. She didn't see that happen though. Especially since she was freeloading on their time and knowledge. "Hey what are you studying Yamashina-san?" She asked enthusiastically in interesting while trying to glance over the book she was reading. Mostly because she felt bad for just asking and not trying to help her back in return, but also because she didn't want to speak about English the entire time. If she knew what the other girl was studying she could either help her or learn something about that too. Either way didn't seemed to bad to her. |

"I suppose that is one way to put it. Apologies for the overly complex answers." Mai performed a small bow apologetically. Despite how she spoke it was clear her manners were genuinely polite. She just did not have the ability to tell what she was saying at times and how it came off. Perhaps she came off to strong by speaking English so fluently in front of the two girls, one clearly understanding her. Was she wrong to assume that both could understand her completely? Or at least to some degree? Or did she show off again? These thoughts crossed her mind and all sounded like plausible answers. "If you do not mind I could help both of you with your studies as a small apology too Yamashina-san. If I may be bold is it alright to assume I came off as arrogant or condescending sounding? If so I do apologize. There is more than a single way to help others out." To Mai that meant her helping the two girls while she helped herself learn more by speaking with the two girls. Socializing was something she did not do often and needed to in order to function better with people. He was not here to help her learn how to do so better thus it was upon her own power to do so. "As all of our studies are being said I was attempting to partially study the medical textbook given to me. However I do already know most of the information held within so it is just review material. Boring information." |

Kikuhime permitted herself a gentle (and genuine) smile at Sakurai's enthusiasm, then inclined her head graciously at Rivori's offer. "Thank you for your offer, Rivori-san, and to answer you, Sakurai-san, I was studying calculus. Sometimes the concepts and formulae simply must be reminded." She looked at Rivori, tilting her head politely. She is trying, at least, to learn how to be polite. Hm. Perhaps she will learn, perhaps she will not. "Medicine is a noble profession. Are you thinking of going into it after you graduate? I know that many hospitals could use more talented doctors..." Not forgetting that Sakurai was there, she looked back at the second year with a gentle smile. "But yes, it is basically good luck, though one would not usually use the word itself. It does not come up very often." |

"Don't worry about it, At least you're trying to help." Saki tried to reassure the other student. She noticed the arrogance a bit, but she didn't mind it much, there were worse things she could have said. If Saki was offended she would have already said so. "Calculus? That sounds hard? Is that some kind of advanced math?" Saki asked as she obviously didn't know what calculus was, but the way it sounded, she thought it would have a connection to math. Also because Kikuhime mentioned something about formula. She wasn't that bad at Math, but she wasn't an expert either. "Good that you review stuff! I wish I had time to do that." Saki said, while she most obviously did had time for that her lifestyle mostly sucked all that time out of it and she wasn't going to let that drop for a simple review. "They probably just put in there to put some more difficult words into the text." Saki joked once she heard that the word itself was seldom used. Now she thought about it a lot of those words she didn't understand were words she rarely saw or heard about herself. "More doctors or nurses can't really be a bad thing all things considered." Saki couldn't really see how more people trying to save others people lives was a bad thing. "If you want to help that'll be cool." Saki said. People helping her with English was always appreciated since it always frustrated her to no end. |

"Calculus? Should not be too difficult to help with. What parts are you struggling with per say? And for you Sakurai-san what parts of the English language do you find difficult? I will assist as much as I am able. Do no worry about overwhelming me with both of your studies at once. Will not be a problem helping the two of you at once." Was she sounding cocky again? Mai could not tell as she was just speaking both the truth and what came to mind. When both girls brought up how medicine was a good field to go into it made Mai pause for a moment. She agreed with both of them, however, Mai herself was not one who wanted to become a doctor, nurse, or work in a hospital. She enjoyed the prospect of working in a lab more than a hospital. "While I do agree with the sentiments, I would prefer being the one researching and designing new medicines to help. I do plan to pursue a PHD at some point. While that is the general assumption most make when I mention my studies, it just does not appease me. Seems....Pointless to sit there and tell people what to do and treat others while others in the hospital do the tests, procedures, and prescribe the medicine themselves." And there goes Mai on a small rant. Doctors and nurses as a profession bother Mai as they seem more like people who speak big words, but do very little while others do the work that they take credit for. It could stem from personal experiences, but it was her personal view on the professions. "Not that they do not do good to society. Just believe someone with more charisma and social would work better as a doctor. That is quite enough about my own studies and plans. Allow me to help the two of you with your studies. Should provide more brain function than reading a useless textbook." |
