Though not as nice as some other schools, Ueno Metro High (often shortened to Ue-Met) is still a decent school. However, the quality of the school has recently become overshadowed by overcrowding. Because there's been more students than normal, the school's been strained to meet demands. As of late, the cafeteria food's been substandard, there's been lower teaching standards and less enforcement of disciplinary rules, and the current student body has been trending towards inconsiderate behavior, and there are fears of the school breaking down into a school for delinquents and ne'er-do-wells.

The campus has a main building with three floors (one for each year) and eight classrooms per floor. Behind the main school building are two points of interest: the Practice Building, where multiple clubs meet after school, and the gymnasium building where the athletic teams practice. Due to overcrowding, the school struggles to keep up with appearances, giving Ue-Met a slight rundown appearance.

The school uniform is a red blazer jacket and brown slacks for the boys, and a red skirt with a white blouse for the girls. The school's emblem is a row of four interlocked rings.

Ue-Met is rather notorious for prohibiting students from getting jobs, even going so far as to threaten expulsion for anyone who breaks the rule. Despite that, many students secretly work part-time jobs around Tokyo.
