Backstory: Spoiler: click to toggle Born in the wealthier parts of Italy, the Leonardi's crime investigation work are what novelists admire to write about. Their work has not only earned them a name for detectives, but also dueling. The famous leitmotif associated with the Leonardi family is the saying, "Pensare attentamente, lavorare facile", which translates to "think carefully, work easy".
Ajaca's childhood consisted of secluding himself away in the library of his estate, reading fables of Duel Monsters, and novels of detectives. Primary school yielded interesting results, with teachers being offended by Ajaca's proficiency to read already that of a middle schooler. The teachers ask of him to stay on pace with the rest of the students, which angered Ajaca. By the time Ajaca was ten, the Leonardi's had to move to South Africa for business. Before leaving, Ajaca's friend Isabelle gave him a parting gift: The Agent of Mystery - Earth. Isabelle stated that the card reminds her of Ajaca, because it was such a mystery why he was so smart, and everyone liked to call him "Azul Grande" for always wearing nothing but blue. Ajaca would see Isabelle again soon enough.
Down in South Africa, the Leonardi family were investigating numerous incidents involving "strange dueling phenomena", something they were well familiar with in Italy. Ajaca was allowed to enter into a secondary school through an entrance exam, which he passed. At age 12, he was already on track for achieving all high honors, and at 15, successfully completed his years of schooling. Around this time, Ajaca had little experience with detective work, and did not want to interfere with his parents. He would take numerous side jobs that ranged from physically demanding, to mentally exhausting. In the end, Ajaca saved up his allowance for when it was necessary, saving it as an emergency fund to fall back on.
At age 17, business in South Africa began to settle, and the Leonardi's went back to Italy to continue work there. Under the mentor ship of his father, Ajaca learned of the trade for the next ten years. On and off, however, Ajaca would find time to partake in friendly duels, but was always three steps ahead of his opponent. Ajaca was content with the life, although some events here and there left him rattled. One case in particular left him in a shock, which involved mafioso using Duel Spirits to rig slot machines. The encounter with a Lucky Straight made Ajaca think back to his times reading about the Duel Monster fables, and how he used to think Duel Monsters were real. The shock made him return to his library to read the old stories again, realizing that the books were actual accounts of people who had Duel Spirits accompany them in their lives. Ajaca wanted to learn more about the underlying implications of Duel Spirits, and how they were able to appear within the real world.
Months of research left Ajaca frustrated and rattled, until a letter would come to him by an anonymous sender under the name I. Certain it was from his long lost friend Isabelle, Ajaca reads the letter, entailing the following: "Meet me at the crossroads which we parted ways". Ajaca deducted that this meant the place where he and Isabelle parted when he was going to South Africa. Upon arriving, a lone figure was at the rendezvous point, concealing every part of his body. The anonymous person explained everything, saying that Isabelle was never real, and was in fact a Duel Spirit. There was never an Isabelle attending Ajaca's primary school, and only served to be a guardian angel. Frustrated, Ajaca wished to find Isabelle despite all that he has told him. "All of your answers lie in Venice, but not in Venice." The man parts with Ajaca, leaving him confused as to what he means.
Upon further research, the only thing that matched with the man's description was Little Venice in Aurelius. Ajaca packed his bags and moved to Aurelius' Little Venice, where he continued to operate as a detective under his family.
Aurelius, which has proven multiple times to be ridden with crime from humans and Duel Spirits alike, was the perfect grounds for detective work. Ajaca has set up shop. Using connections from different parts of the world, and even getting the assistance of Duel Spirits, Leonardi and Co. has made quite a name for itself in Aurelius. They deal in different areas, from theft, to paranormal activity, to solving underground shady business.
Personality: Ajaca's intellect makes him come off as a killjoy in most scenarios, considering luxury as an excuse to slack off. Cold and calculating, Ajaca is a no-nonsense man when it comes to his research and dueling. However, Ajaca does have a sweet spot when it comes to talking about mythology and Duel Monster history, and acts less callous when the conversation shifts to that topic. Ajaca is easy to embarrass when giving praise, or making a minor mistake. Additionally, Ajaca is easily discouraged when messing up menial tasks. Ajaca grew up as a thinker, not a worker, so physical labor is his worst nightmare. Though his experiences in South Africa gave him a workout, he still detests the idea of lifting heavy cargo again like his youth. The biggest fear of Ajaca is his defeat in being outwitted, or not being able to come up with a solution. At times like these, Ajaca become self critical, aggressive, and melancholic. When Ajaca feels this distress, he tends to isolate himself to a private escape for a few days, reading a novel or taking strolls to alleviate his frustrations.
Active Deck: Ajaca prefers a variety of decks, as he has dueling experience across the board. However, Ajaca finds most comfortable Chaos Agents, for they represent the duality of life, and how it shows his devotion to finding Isabelle. His Ace Card is Master Hyperion.
Duel Spirit: N/A, However is aware of their existence.
Other Details: Ajaca is a fairly decent cook, but his least favorite thing to do is organizing paperwork.
