Some dwarven miners have discovered one of the most powerful relics of the Gods buried deep inside the mantle of the Earth - the Golden MacGuffin. The MacGuffin's power is simply that everyone wants to hold it. Only the most powerful of Gods are immune to this magic - everyone will want it, until it is destroyed, but of course nobody wants to destroy it. It was created by the evil sorceress Rose White over a millennium ago, but banished by her rival, a witch named Red Poppy, to the depths of the Earth. Now its magic has returned to the world, and all the world's armies are making for the mine as fast as possible. Knowing this, the dwarves have placed the MacGuffin on a big alter outside the mine, ready to be claimed by the first ones who come past.

In this RP, you will control one of the nations of Fantasy Pluviostan. To participate, just start posting. Make sure to include a brief description of your nation and how it attempts to retrieve the MacGuffin in your post. Also, include notes on the terrain and local people just in case the MacGuffin winds up in your lands.

Allowed: basic magic (creating fireballs and the like), general fantasy monsters (dragons, goblins), cool castles, impressive empires and masses of men. Disallowed: OP magic (spells that teleport the MacGuffin right to you, impenetrable barriers etc), OP monsters (literally summoning Gods to fight for you - although a God might grant a character some minor blessing), and generally playing unfair (give everyone a chance to get at the MacGuffin). For roleplay purposes, the winner of conflicts will be adjudicated by a simple die roll if there is any dispute (but players are encouraged to be humble concede defeat if they can see the other side would probably win).

Edit: Feel free to join in and have fun! :)

The orcs, each one worse at engineering that the other, clumsily put up the tent.

"That'z not how ye do it, ye big bloody idiot!" A frustrated orc told his colleague, who was just putting up a stick to act as a support.
The colleague, in a childish tone, repeated what he had just been told; "Uh, look at me, that's not how you do it, you big bloody idiot, boo-hoo!", Followed by the thunderous laughter of the orcs in the surroundings.
The first orc, his face red with anger, pushed the second one, causing him to fall on the tent and destroy whathever had been rebuilt. Just ten seconds later they were all brawling on top of the leather and tribal ornaments of the brought-down tent.

Sneakily, a rather ambitious elf used the opportunity to quickly sneak out from the shadows and hide inside the unerected-tent canvas, hoping to see whether he could find anything of value inside.

As the elf crawled inside the hide, an orc, wrestling against another, tripped over him.

"Agh-! Why the hell would the keeng--?!" The orc mumbled on the ground, before a kick to his head knocked him down.
His enemy victoriously laughed, before looking down at the lump under the hide that allowed him to win.
"Thank dah demonz for dis victory! If dah kang hadn't put his collection of meat her', I may not have been able to win!"

This said, the orc triumphantly ran against his next foe, but unceremoniously tripped over the same lump.
"Agh-! Why the hell would the kang put his collection of meat her' of all placez?!" He exclaimed, before getting up and angrily kicking the lump, before looking back at the rest of the orcs.

The "lump," noticing orcs were tripping over it, tried to stay quite still. When kicked, the elf rolled on the ground, suppressing a yelp of pain but making a few heavy breaths.

"We have to help him" whispered another elf.
"Maybe wait until the orcs finish their fighting first" whispered another elf "Then we're in a better position for an ambush."
"Yeah" added another elf "If they do actually attack him, that's when we make our move."

The orcs kept wrestling for a good half an hour, during which time more and more orcs joined the battle. The "tent", meant to be fixed, was barely more than scraps and wraps now. Several pieces of interest, such as the skull of the chief's first killed dragon (Suppousedly; It's actually the skull of a pigeon), had been crushed. So had been the MacGuffin, which physically remained intact yet it eventually sank into the dirt with the steps and the weight of the orcs, still easy to find with magic but perhaps lost to the mundane.

The elf had not been spared, yet he also hadn't been spotted. A few missed kicks, thrown stones and the occasional orcish boot fell his way, but nothing was particularly intentional.

In the other side of the camp, the fight went on against the ents. Completely unprepared and terrible at strategy, the ents easily crossed and breached through the perimeter and approached the interior parts of the base. Yet the attacks didn't cease and the orcs were relentless in their attacks.

Krust himself had, just until now, continued to hack and slash at the vines, roots and branches of the trees, while his dumber fellows continued to try to cut them down, with the occasional torch being thrown against their bodies.
However, growing tired, he chose to step back, with even his mighty strenght wavering and his very bones aching, and, while breathily ordering his men and women to continue their defense/attack, he went back to the center of the camp, hoping to find some strenght in his stash of ale and by praying to the demons through the trophy that he gained by slaying his first dragon.
