Just in case the Commune RP doesn't continue, I'm preparing this one.

It's rather simple in nature. We've had tons of RPs focused on diplomacy and peace. Our wars are short and are often abandoned. Our battles are rather lame and repetitive. Thus, this RP will be about a fantasy tournament. We create a character and drop him in the arena. I'll draw/write a roadmap of the tourney with the battles and matches, and I intend most of them to be non-lethal and melee, though there will be weapons and death in some of them. Each player may have up to three characters, but those characters cannot face each other while under your control; While you may decide any dialogue, another player (Preferably one whose characters have died) will decide their actions.
The battles don't have to be long and epic. As a matter of fact, I've always felt that brutal simplicity has always created the best battles.

That's pretty much all there is to say. Fus has been 16 days without logging into his NS account; If he dies, I'll develop this further. I'll try not to use the D&D system, but quite frankly I'm not sure if any of us is quite experienced with writing violence.

... Also, no specific reason for the A E S T H E T I C title. "Deathmatch" just felt too bland by itself.

True. And those are quite boring sometimes.

Well, and what were the wars around?

Armedian Civil War? Of course, when NUSUNU came, it was totally screwed.
War of the Ancients? Abandoned. And also not so coherent in posts (misunderstanding was quite great sometimes)
Kathagromes? Failed to escalate. Diablo? I refuse to consider any action of OCA there canon. Area Operation? Failed to materialize.
Helios? Well, again, tons of misunderstandings. And it just couldn't be prolonged.

Don't recall other wars. Dunno whether we will make this one fine.

Yeah, but this one isn't a war, or even a battle, it's a few matches between characters. It's not about tactics like the previous have been (Unless you wanna go full JoJo), but rather more about vivid descriptions and all that.

Also, about battles; Is it just me, or do I feel like we never had actual battles up until MacGuffin? They're usually just skirmishes, if even that. We had the battle over Pluviostan in the early Helios RP, but again, it ended before it could be fully exploited. All other would-be-battles usually had one side flee as soon as things started to look bad for them. And NUSUNU wasted no time with battles, he just nuked the battleground.

And the proper battle in MacGuffin has just started. The previous one was a clash... Between my own guys. I didn't really know how to handle that. I mean, you bombarded them and that's alright, but, besides possibly enciting the ents to join later, I'm not sure if you had quite an effect in there.

Not like we could exploit that battle over Pluviostan. I had too few ships stretched thinly across half of the galaxy. Other than two remaining ships bombarding ATLAS installations with minimal support from the land bases there was no way to escalate the fight. As for the fleeing, yes, it stands.

As for MacGuffin, not sure if I had any effect either. Burn everything out, rush, seize, retreat, drop the good.
Not sure if I can have any effect either without skipping a ton of posts or setting everything ablaze again.

Actually, I'm not that fond of personal RPs, nor am I especially fond of one-to-one combat, nor do I consider consider myself good enough at descriptions.

Still, I'll join to make up a quorum,.

Yeah, part of the intention of this RP is to make us better at battles, which we've always sucked at describing.
