As a previous MMO gamer, I made my escape from World of Warcraft. Now that I have a good connection again, and more free time, I am looking for another MMO to play.

Preferably free to play, since I do not have a lot of money to pay for an account, and free to play allows me to test before buying.

Does anyone have any good recommendations?

I've tested a couple of MMOs out there, and only one has really stuck, and that's DC Universe Online.

The only sad part about DCUO is the fact that it can be solo the entire game. I'm looking for something that has a lot of team play.

I'm tempted to play Star Wars The Old Republic, seeing as how it is FTP as well, I've heard both good and bad things about it.

Hey, we are in the same boat! I played TERA for some time I remember enjoying it, been wanting to get back into it again since I got a new computer and everything, just been busy.

I have heard a lot of good things about SWTOR in the Mothership (Nerd community at my college), never played it myself however.

I actually really enjoy the PVP in SWTOR. A lot more than I did with WoW, actually. I would play WoW again, however, there are certain things that just turn me off on that game. The only reason I would reconsider getting back into it is the fact that it's probably one of the best MMOs out there to date, even if it is 10-11 years old.

I've been eyeballing TERA because the visuals are stunning. I'm just not a fan of the way the game plays. It's extremely similar to DC Universe Online and I can only really tolerate that game with a controller over Keyboard/Mouse.

If WoW went FTP, I'd more than likely get back into it, but then again, so would a lot of other toxic players. That's one thing about WoW that I did enjoy though. The fact that there were no FTP noobs(even though that place is a breeding ground for players who can't play properly).

Yeah, I agree with you about the controls in TERA. The visuals are really pretty, and I handle the controls well enough from what I remember. I'm also crippled, so I feel accomplished when I can handle a game with computer/mouse controls without too many issues.

*Pictures FTP WoW* <3 Sandy Claws, I know what I want for Christmas.

If you like the controls for TERA, then you'd probably like DCUO(also FTP). There are a few downsides to DCUO though. Level cap of 30, the game up to that point(and even after) can be solo'd. People like to hog the quest objectives from you, so you have to beat them to the punch.

There are a lot of good sides to it though. Exploring Gotham/Metropolis, great PVP(you can even play as the actual super heroes like Batman, Superman, Robin, Powergirl, etc.), and style customization(like Transmog from WoW).

I've heard good things about it, however, I'm not a big DC fan. I prefer Marvel overall and wouldn't find playing the superheroes as interesting.
