Weather
The first great snowfall of a few days prior has coated the lands in a shining white that many would say is beauty embodied. The trees glimmer and chime with ice on their branches, and the evergreens are more vibrant and lively looking than at any other time in the year. The skies are cloudless, and with nothing to insulate the earth, temperatures drop low enough to be dangerous for long amounts of exposure at night.

The ice that has taken over the water has finally begun to thin; once it has melted entirely, normal naval activity can resume, as most ships are incapable of traversing such dangerous obstacles as enormous hull-piercing shards of ice. Most ships...

At best an unnatural Pokemon, Eevee's rarity is understandably widely known. Though there are enough of them to breed independently now, they were initially a very limited species. For centuries, magic users have used the Elemental Stones to evoke particularly powerful magic, or merely as catalysts to spells and potions. It has been observed that the magic that resides in these crystals and stones can be accessed by certain Pokemon as well, and after long decades of reverse-engineering these select Pokemon's ability to access the magic of the stones, the mages managed to create a breed of Pokemon with an innate magical ability to harness the power of many of these stones. This Pokemon was Eevee.
Initial attempts were less than satisfactory, resulting in a shortly lived breed of proto-Eevee. Often their interaction with the stones would bring about changes, but would also kill the Pokemon, either immediately or after a short time. Another decade of careful engineering passed, and the current form of Eevee was the result. After their success was proven, the mages lost interest in the subjects, as there was nothing else to learn from them, and moved on to other projects, leaving the Pokemon to breed as they will. Due to the wild nature of their evolution, and lack of a natural habit (being laboratory born), Eevee reside primarily in cities and suburbs, while their evolutions can be found many places across the Isle, the result of accidental interaction with the stones that they were created to control. The wide variation in their possible evolutions has greatly helped to populate the species, but only compared to their inital number. Compared to naturally occurring species, Eevee are still very rare finds.
