Weather
The first great snowfall of a few days prior has coated the lands in a shining white that many would say is beauty embodied. The trees glimmer and chime with ice on their branches, and the evergreens are more vibrant and lively looking than at any other time in the year. The skies are cloudless, and with nothing to insulate the earth, temperatures drop low enough to be dangerous for long amounts of exposure at night.

Taking a single step forward, Azrael's blade lashed out, striking at the bat fluttering nearby, beginning ot recover himself to fly back up and meet up with his brethren again to plan a third attack. The little Pokemon squealed as the blade slashed cleanly through one wing, leaving it attached only by the thin hollow bone that made up the top of it, blood dripping from either severed edge of the fabric of the wing itself.
Immediately it fell to the ground, flopping about and shrieking in high-pitched wails that were sure to bring Zubat from any direction, if there were any near enough to hear. As it was, the other two shrieked in response and grew more agitated, with the first one making its way up off the ground to start for the air and for safety.
It was stopped, however, as Angelo, ever the more exuberant one, leaped after him, pinning it with his paws to the ground and leaning down swiftly to bite the little thing along the neck. The bat wasn't too much smaller than Angelo himself, and his wingspan was quite a bit more impressive than Angelo's width, but it didn't save the bat when the fangs sunk into his neck. When he had a good grip on the twitching thrashing little mammalian mass, Angelo jumped backwards, pulling it up off the ground with a jerk of his head, and loosed a flamethrower through his teeth. It flickered and sputtered out the sides of his mouth around the bat, and the smell of cooked meat again filled the air along with the death screams of the bat.
Eventually, as Azrael finished disposing of his, Angelo dropped the one he had been chewing over, and trotted over to his Keeper's body, frowning and nuzzling her face with his wet nose, hoping to rouse her. Adremmelech and Yojimbo were there already, with Yojimbo standing near her stomach, one hand-like paw on her side, resting there after trying to wake her with a vigorous, concerned shake. But he knew she was in a deep sleep, an unnatural one, by her Aura, and knew there would be no waking her. Adremmelech had taken to laying against her back, her fur charged with so low a voltage that it was only just warm, an instinctual response despite that it was plenty warm at the moment.
Above Azrael, the final bat squeaked angrily, but looked hesitant, unsure what to do now.

Victoria's orders carried through the air quickly enough, with nothing to stop them or absorb the sound, yet, and as Kenan powered the both of them back, beginning to fatigue somewhat under the duress of carrying not only himself through the air but a rider, he opened his beak and let loose a keening cry that echoed across the fields, even above the dull roar of the fire. Overhead, clouds began to gather, blotting out the sun, and unnaturally quickly little drops of rain began to patter along their arms and on their heads, weighing down the blades of grass they hit.
At first the effect was almost unobservable, as the tiny raindrops were reduced to mere puffs of steam in the fire and on the horses' backs, but with the passing of seconds, seconds wherein the riders were nearing, the rain grew harder, pounding against the group and against the fire that was so quickly spreading through the grass. Rather than roar and crackle, it began to hiss and gurgle, and steam rose from the ground as rain fell from the sky. The fire burned still, for the moment, but lower and lower as the rain beat it back, easily extinguishing the low-heat fire. Grass was hardly a stable fuel source, and when it was gone there was nothing for the fire to hold to; even the light shower was enough to put it out.
The horses snorted their displeasure at the rain as they raced onwards, and Orlando whimpered and cowered against Victoria's legs as it stung at his fur, but he didn't complain very loudly.
Before anyone else could launch an attack, Lacrima launched himself from his hole and struck one of the charging Ponyta with the crown of his skull helmet, directly in the stomach as it rushed overhead.
With a cry and a wheeze, the horse tripped and rolled, dealing Lacrima a glancing blow with one hoof as it did so, knocking the smaller Pokemon askew as it they tumbled ass over tea kettle into the smoldering grass. The crunching of bones and ligaments was barely audible over the hoof beats and flames and rain, but they were distinct, two broken necks.
And one injured Cubone's wails.
The other two rushed onward though, and spread out somewhat as they did so, hoping for no more surprises.
Before Victoria's arms, a sphere of roiling purple energy formed, glowing strangely in the dim light of the rain, and sizzling as the drops hit it, before it shot off towards the incoming horses. Again the third rider made to avoid it, but the sphere struck his horse's other side and nearly toppled it, but the animal recovered at the loss of quite some ground and speed, and the woman pulled a flask from a satchel by his saddle and emptied its contents over the wound. Though they couldn't see it, the scorch faded, leaving what only appeared to be a patch of fresh fur, and perhaps a little redness of soreness. The other injuries persisted, but that one did not.
The middle rider fared little better, finding it much more difficult to dodge the speedier, sharper punishment of the stones, and the rider maneuvered her buckler to block as many as she could, though those were few and far between. She seemed most intent on protecting the Ponyta, as she herself was a smaller target and suffered only one or two blows.
Kenan, when he finally managed to make it back and drop Thibaut off on the ground before Victoria's feet, could only summon the energy to cling to his Keeper's shoulder and try to catch his breath, thoroughly exhausted from carrying a Pokemon half again his size and weight, as well as trying to call forth rain from a hot, arid sky. He would need a little time to recover.
In the meantime, however, the riders closed in, and the one who had been in the center, now on the far left, leveled her spear at Acker, who gathered rocks still, and rode past him at a gallop. Her aim was off, slightly, and Acker's reflexes had him twisting to the side so that he received only a minor scrape, but that merely sent the rider hurtling towards Lucianna herself as Acker turned to try to bombard her with the few small stones he had collected since his last attempt.
They were mere pebbles in comparison.
The other rider, lagging behind, was gaining on her companion, and her sword flashed in the meager light as she raised it high, preparing to strike Victoria down.
Behind the riders, beside Lacrima, the Ponyta's body shimmered slightly where it lay, and a mist rose from its fur to condense in the air above it. It was a strange sight to see, this incorporeal mass slowly taking on form and color, even if they were indistinct from each other in a way that made it seem mostly like nothing but a conglomerate of shadow. The edges were fuzzier than the rest, though, and faded into nothing. Two eyes appeared, blinking sleepily in the direction of the little Ground-type, and its entire body cocked to the side. "Gas?"

Azrael barely gave the dead zubat a second glance, as his mind felt oddly clear despite his somewhat heavy breathing. He wasn’t even thinking very much any more, instead just acting. His mind was blank, and his focus was mainly on the last zubat, with everything else just peripheral. The zubat was just flying, out of reach and hesitant, although it was angry. It might attack, but if not, there wasn’t much Azrael could really do about it. Though then he’d want to remain here as the zubat would probably bring more Lascians, and even with her fully-capable and powerful-seeming pokémon, Azrael didn’t think it was okay to just leave a comrade sleeping on the ground when he thought more enemies were coming.
Despite how much, in his opinion, it would be better to leave this area once it was done, because his efforts were more useful elsewhere.
His sword was prepared to block anything the zubat threw at him. If it came close, he’d attack, much like he had planned before. At the back of his mind he considered the likelihood that the woman’s pokémon would get rid of this last one, but he caught a glance of them all worrying over their keeper. He didn’t bother actually weighing the chance, as he considered it a distraction. If the zubat came at him, he wanted to be prepared.
Still, however, if he could possibly deal with it without killing it, it would be more beneficial to the king. That in mind, he stepped toward the corpse, close enough to kick it to roll it over. Unless the zubat came at him, he’d try to roll it over with a kick, hopefully revealing the pokéorbs. If the zubat tried to flee, or didn’t even move to attack, Azrael would try to recall it into one of the pokéorbs – he’d try with all three if that was what it took.

Victoria gave the girl a look. Who was she to talk right now? Whining in the middle of a battle? Really! She blinked a moment, and glanced over at the aforementioned Pokemon.
"Well... the Hitmonchan seems alri-"
But the girl was already off helping her Pokemon by the time Victoria got much of a word in. She wasn't even sure which Pokemon the girl was talking about, and, by the time she was realizing anything, Kenan had started his downpour. There was a grimace as she realized she had overspent Kenan's energy, once the bird settled down, but she had no time to worry about it, as the remaining riders came rumbling forward. Bracing herself, she held her staff tight, ready to dodge the sword the rider was going to swing at her and take a swipe at the rider with a hefty swing of the staff. Hopefully, her father's training came in handy.
"Thibaut, c'mon, aim an Energy Ball at that thing..."
Thibaut shook his head violently. No way he was going to Energy/Solar anything at any point anymore. He was done.
At least for now anyways. With all that destruction he had wrecked, he was just done. Victoria gave him one small glance before rolling her eyes and keeping them forward towards that Rider again.
"Fine. A Bullet Seed?"
Thibaut stared at her a moment, nodded, and stood firm next to her.
Benolo was already diving towards the grass behind him, a bit too scared to come out right now. That and he needed a moment's rest too. He seemed like a little pup next to all these experienced fighters...
Orlando, on the other hand, decided to suck it up for a moment. Victoria might not have needed any help right off the bat, but one never knew how things were going to turn out.
He leapt out of the safety of his Keeper's cloak, and eyes towards the other Rider. She seemed to be the leader, and if he could take her down, it might make things easier for everyone.
And maybe he could make it Sunny and they would not have to deal with it.
If whatever this other girl was going to do was to dismount the rider... then he could flamethrower the human. Just because the Ponyta would not take much damage, did not mean the rider was immune to fire.
Noe hope was all they needed, and a bit of luck.

Praying quickly seemed like it had worked. Lacrima was able to strike quickly and easily, taking down his foes with a powerful, and oblivious to Lucianna super effective Dig attack. Not only that, but the rain dance which had been summoned meant his lucky little bone-bottom didn't get scolded! And whilst Lacrima himself was almost certainly aware of the fact he had just kill this Ponyta and its rider, Luci remained entirely oblivious, only having seen the pair fall to the ground, and so she assumed it to have been nothing more than a knockout. She also didn't see the Gastly.
The Cubone propped himself against his club, having rested it horizontally in the ground; he was rather tired now, not to mention that blow from the diamond hooves of the Ponyta, and the damage that had done. He tried not to let anyone know, but that had really hurt him, forcing a wail from his throat. He needed this rest; whilst he had to fight with all of his strength, he also had to ensure he had all of his strength to fight with. There was ao much strategy to even brawling, which so few would ever appreciate, and that allowed him an edge over his rivals... He would bet that Acker, the foolish Hitmonchan, wouldn't rest when needed. Of course, he was wrong in his assumption, but he would happily draw his strength from it... And this is when he saw Gastly.
He knew what the Ghost was, and where it had likely come from; his own mother, infact, had spawned one on her own demise. Seeing this being reminded him of her, and thusly caused a deep remorse to resound through his being. He would've cried, thrown his head back and wailed to the skies, such that the world might feel the impression on their ears of exactly how sad he was feeling. And yet something managed to stop his emo actions from being manifested, and directed him back into this battle, and towards the Gastly.
He wasn't sure whether he would be able to strike the being, looking at its immaterial state, and to be honest, it wasn't yet an enemy, nor did it pose a real threat. On top of that, the little ground type was still interested in conserving his energy, and so he came to the slightly disappointing conclusion that it would be best to either talk to or ignore the Pokemon completely. Perhaps it was better to ignore it, and yet Lacrima had a feeling that the Gastly might accidentally or otherwise cause some kind of problems, and so he would occupy it, at least for now.
"Cubo-bo!"..."Uh, hello there!" he said in a totally neutral voice, trying to attract the gasball's attention. "Cu-bone Cu Cubone Cubo bone bone Cube"..."My name's Cubone... Nice to meet you." he continued, trying to add a hint of friendliness in his tone; it was difficult for the skulled-warrior, as sociability wasn't his strong point at all, and he really would be stuck after this. "Hi, my name's awkward."
...Meanwhile...
Lucianna met the approaching rider with both fear and instict. Her body was already preparing itself for what she needed to do, but having seen that lance catch Acker made something inside her lurch again. She couldn't let anything happen to him, and whilst that was what she was musing on, the very thoughts of it would betray her intentions, for they critically reduced the time she had to react. Fortunately, instinct had been her co-pilot to the point that she already had her daggers withdrawn in both hands, crossed over her face as defensively as she could manage.
Of course, this was going to achieve nothing against the might of the lance, and its momentum and size would probably allow the rider to send the pole straight through the daggers and into Lucianna's face. And not all of us want that. So Lucianna came to the conclusion she would have to also make an attempt to dive out of the way, turning her body to make the jump in that direction, whilst keeping her daggers defending herself for as long as possible. As she was falling to the ground, she would rotate so as to land on her upper back, and keep the defensive position with her daggers, until the threat had passed. Once again, she was praying to not get impaled on something.
Whilst his Keeper was moving, Acker was still coming to terms with the fact his foe had managed to place a blow on him. That quickly became a desire for revenge, however, and he turned to face the pair, feet kicking into gear as he started a pursuit *Though not the technique* of the pair. Whilst they were moving, though, he wouldn't be able to hit effectively, or more importantly catch up, but he already had his ideas for that. He really didn't need to unleash a particularly powerful technique, considering the assault of rocks the Ponyta had already taken, so given his effectiveness with punching, a standard Drain Punch would suffice... And help recover from some of the vexing pain he experienced. GOGO Gadget attacking the foe the moment they've slowed down and you catch up with them!

Realizing that there truly was an army in front of her, the first thing Lorelei did was run to find cover in the trees around her; just because no one had seen her yet didn’t mean they wouldn’t soon and there were a lot more of them then she could ever hope to take on.
First things first, Lorelei checked to make sure her bow was strung properly and that her arrows were easy for her to reach. Checking to make sure there was no one in the immediate area, Lorelei sent Brighid out and waited until she had acquainted herself with her surroundings. Kneeling so that she was level with her Vulpix, Lorelei shushed Brighid quickly while gathering the little pokémon into her arms. “Hello Brighid, I’m Lorelei and I need you to listen closely. It’s very dangerous here and I need you to watch to see if anyone sneaks up behind me or if there is anyone who comes who I miss. If there is a person coming, I need you to alert me immediately but if it’s a Lascian attack them immediately. Hypnosis if they’re looking at you but if not, use Energy Ball and bring them down. But only if they see us, otherwise, let them pass, do you understand?”
Lorelei paused in her orders to make sure Brighid had absorbed everything she said; even though she had spoken slowly, it was still a lot. Upon receiving a nod she got up slowly, “Stay close to me at all times, I’ll be moving around a lot and do not draw any more attention to us than you have to.”
With that said, Lorelei made her way to the bushes and tall grass closer to the battle, only turning back once to make sure Brighid was following orders. Her mind was running overtime at the moment, she needed to stay hidden for as long as she could while taking the Lascians down. The only way she could see right now was to shoot from cover, move as soon as she had let a shot loose and have Brighid cover her.
Crouching behind the grass, Lorelei carefully drew an arrow out of her quiver, placed it on the left side of her bow and rested the head of her arrow on the top of her left hand. As quietly as she could, she drew the arrow back with her forefinger and middle finger; she needed the most accurate and clean shot she knew. Leveling the bow with her eyes, she scanned the horizon, waiting for a suitable target while keeping her ears open for any signs of danger; she would move immediately if she heard something or if Brighid alerted her to anyone nearby.

Azrael's kick was enough to send the man's body shifting to one side and half-rolling, exposing his belt beneath the edge of his tunic, and two of the Pokeorbs clipped there. There was surely a third running around somewhere, possibly on his other side, but if Azrael was lucky, it wouldn't matter anyway. An instant after Azrael's foot lashed out, the bat jerked forward, as if he wanted to stop him from kicking its Keeper, but checked itself, fluttering in the air still and glaring down at him. Grabbing the Pokeorbs was an easy enough task, though he could only do so one at a time, and hefting it up to direct the rune at the Zubat took but a second.
Fortunately for him it happened to be the correct orb. An erratic lance of red energy shot forth, striking the Zubat across one wing and knocking it for a bit of a loop before the magic took hold and drew it within the confines of the orb, both magically and physically (or so one would think. Only the mages truly knew how the whole deal worked).
...had he been hoping for something a little flashier, a little more...powerfully interesting, he was due to be disappointed.
~*~
The Pokemon all tensed, their orders given and their lives set upon that indistinguishable line that was courage in the face of adversity, the call of trumpets sounding in the distance brought their targets up short, ignoring their once-targets and turning their mounts about towards the origins of the trumpet-calls, the direction of their own small detachment.
"Damn," the woman who had led the charge exclaimed, albeit mutedly, not more than a few feet from Lucianna, who was left quite frustratedly hanging, not at the point where she would have leaped out of the way, or near enough to attack without getting a well-placed boot in the face.
An answering blast of trumpets, these of slightly different sound and somewhat more urgency, had both riders snapping their boot heals into the sides of their steeds and taking off at a dead gallop towards the main detachment of their soldiers, far faster than they had approached, and at a speed unattainable by any of their attackers.
Within what felt and sounded like a few hoof beats, the Ponyta and their riders had returned to their group, which seemed to be exhibiting a completely new level of activity. Soldiers were milling about, the Ponyta and Rapidash were looking a little more fidgety, and trumpets were calling, almost back and forth, as they seemed to grow more and more anxious.
What would provoke such a reaction from them as to draw two, clearly better-suited-to-win, units back to the main group when they could have instead dispatched the two young women? And what was the significance in the difference of sound between the two different trumpets? Perhaps they were simply getting ready to continue their march, towards Ulster to lay siege and ignore the little gnats buzzing about in their periphery. Insulting, perhaps, but probably not too far from the truth.
~*~
As Lorelei hunkered down in the grass, getting reasonably comfortable while remaining alert for anyone who happened to stray from the pack of enemies, the little Fire-type ordered to guard her almost immediately sent up a squeak of warning. Had it been anything but meant to grab Lorelei's attention, it might have been cute, or adorable, or endearing. Rather, it was sharp and something like a bark, splitting the air and fading into the distance, and the sound of trumpeting horns and hoof beats.
The fox wound her way around Lorelei's legs, urgently indicating back along the way they had come. There had been the sound of followers, the military, for quite some time now, slowly catching up to her, but it appeared as if they had begun to step up the pace as they drew nearer. Perhaps they had eyes where she did not, now that they knew where to focus them? Before her, the gathered enemies were beginning to gather again, solidifying itself into a dangerous mass of soldiers and Pokemon again, preparing for the oncoming Caledonian forces.
Behind Lorelei, though not yet in view by those on the far back, was the leading edge of the some hundred and a half man fighting force, at the forefront of which were foot soldiers, followed by cavalry, and finally archers, with their Pokemon marching alongside or behind them, perhaps flying above them depending on the individual case. There was no discernible leader over the general mass of soldiers and lances held up high, but it was without a doubt someone of relative high rank within the city. Perhaps not someone who could compare to a Valkyrie.
Unlike the others, Lorelei was no so unfortunate as to go into the battle completely alone. Not that they had any idea she was there, of course, and it was arguable how much effect one young girl would have on the battle in general, particularly from a Caledonian point of view. She faced the same decision as everyone else though; it was the perfect opportunity to flee, should she be so inclined, but there was a fray to throw herself into as well, if she so wished...
It was a question they all faced, with varying motivations and differing outcomes, left to each of them to decide. Assuming other factors didn't decide it for them.
~*~
Meanwhile, in the social tea corner, the Gastly seemed rather at ease with the whole situation, hovering over a dead couple of bodies, talking with a Pokemon whose corporeality far outweighed his own. It must have been the Lascian Pokemon from which he came that brought about such a cavalier view of equality, that he wouldn't hold anything against not only his killer, but a solid physical being.
Or perhaps it was an innate quality held by Ghost-type Pokemon to not particularly care. "It's...interesting to meet ye who brought me upon this world. Have ye a purpose in so stalling my hastening to haunt, spook, and generally liven up the droll lives of simple peasant folk?" He blinked wide eyes at the Cubone curiously, tilting bodily to one side in a questioning manner. "Have ye one whom I might possess to offer me? So that we might frollick malintention upon the gathered humans, perhaps?

Egg Count = 17
Jimmy had been travelling for what had felt like hours through the long, winding cave before his unit emerged into the light that meant that he had made it through the entire cave on his first ride through with a Ponyta. Throughout the entire journey Jimmy's bum had been hurting where the saddle had been riding up on him but since he had slowed down the unit enough with his previous battle with Kika, Jimmy had not said anything and had had to deal with this pain throughout the whole journey. Now that they had finally arrived Jimmy hopped off of Ponyta and stroked its neck affectionately. The pokemon had galloped as fast as it could through winding paths and treachourous caverns to get him here and its legs must have been hurting more than any part of Jimmy. Jimmy felt sad that he could not keep the Ponyta, he would have liked the added power and speed but for now he would have to let it go back through the caves or wherever it was going back to.
As Jimmy took a look at the battlefield his first thought was that it was nothing like he had expected. All around he could see dead bodies and pokemon looking for their masters, not knowing what had happened to them yet. But there was nothing Jimmy could do now, he could not just run away or else he would court-martialled. No doubt he would be found and if it was Kika that found him...Jimmy shuddered as he thought of the pain he would go through. Unfortunately for him as well as battling his enemy Jimmy also had to keep an eye on Kika who would be forever trying to kill him.
Hearing the captain's order to charge, Jimmy followed his platoon who all seemed to run wildly down to the battlefield. As Jimmy ran he unsheathed his trusty daggers and made sure that his pokeorbs were easily accessible if he needed them. Jimmy knew there was no time to plan an attack. He would just have to run and attack whoever he saw from the Caledonian army.

The gleam of sunlight would be something Boris would never take for granted again. After the numerous fights he and his pokemon had encountered by being cooped up in such a tiny enclosed space he knew that it was going to be a good fight for the lot of them. Still holding Cerberus under his right arm a sudden stench threatened to overwhelm Boris…the stench of blood.
To most predatory animals the smell of blood sends them into a primal blood frenzy giving them an insatiable thirst for blood. This was the case for Boris as well as Cerberus to an extent. The bear man dropped his dog to the ground as he could feel himself loosing his mind to the battle that was about to happen. Piercing blue eyes no longer pierced through the sky for now a bright yellow hue illuminated from underneath the marowak skull helm which protected the bear man’s head. Glaring out to the battlefield a faint growl resonated from under his helm, Boris was ready and his pokemon too were all getting pumped up for the battle.
Claws extended outward from Brother’s paws as the bear began to systematically jump up and down in a circle. The tiny bear was performing a sort of war dance in order to psyche himself up into a blood frenzy, which I might add, was working great. Small black eyes once filled with kindness, compassion, was now filled to the brim of pure hatred of the opposite country. A prejudice not understood was planted in Brother’s mind. Cale’s had done nothing to him, but they had inadvertently caused his master pain something he couldn’t allow. The cresent moon embedded on the forehead of Brother seemed to glow with an inner power ready to be released…he was ready for battle.
A long pink tongue shot high into the air extending outward to its maximum range only to plunge downward crashing into the ground with a loud thud. The same serpentine organ began to snake back upwards into the air until it was high aloft. A soft feminine call was heard as the long organ slowly retreated back into the mouth of its possesser which was none other than Halibel the Lickitung. Despite her diva-esque attitude she seemed to be just as down and dirty to battle as Boris and Brother did.
Fire an element which has many connotations and metaphors. Some resembling destruction, others resembling rebirth, but in this case it was pure destruction. Flames erupted from the mouth of the hellspawn known as Cerberus the Houndour. Bloods stench that had filled the battlefield had reached the nasal passage of the dog sending him into a memory filled bloodlust. Times when he was wild living off the blood of innocents began to recreate themselves in his mind causing hallucinations to appear before the beast. Claws that he didn’t know he held in his paws extended, muscles bulged outwards, and yet even more flames began to shoot outward. Seeming as if he had a torrent of energy that wouldn’t falter Cerberus knew he was ready for battle.
Lastly was the babe Leyon. The little pup was much too confused at what was happening to really psych himself out. However the change in dispositions that everyone else was having frightened him highly. Leaping on top of Boris head he was determined to stay there as long as he could in order to keep his own hide safe.
Now the big bear man turned to face his minions, no his army companions. Seeing each one of them prepare for combat in their own way made his heart swell with pride even though it was already swollen for lust of the battle to come. Gripping his sword in two hands he ripped the sword from his back brandishing it high into the sky before administering orders to his pokemon.
"Krew this iz our furst baddle togevva as a mob. Veeb vill scrap our 'ardest until cale iz no more! They vill feel da pain o' each lasshun they ab killed, they will bleed until their blood feeds da trees an grassz, they vill awl cowa before our might. But ya too vill assist us in range support usin' Dunderbolt but du nub overexert yourself. Make yer dunderbolts so veak dat they are more similar ter Dundershocks. Nows friends it iz time fer us ter go."
Quick translation Cerberus you are to provide ranged support to us. Cerberus you will use Flamethrower to burn anything that tries to attack us and if you find yourself tiring switch down to Ember. Halibel you are to follow behind Brother and I keeping a close watch on any pokemon if you see them about to attack you will use Me First to intercept the attack and send it back at them. If you don't see any of them doing anything you will send out a massive Supersonic to confuse as many people as possible.
Lastly you Leyon, stay by my side either on my head or on the ground, but do not leave my sight I will not let you die. But you too will assist us in range support using Thunderbolt but do not overexert yourself. Make your thunderbolts so weak that they are more similar to Thundershocks. Now friends it is time for us to go.
Satisfied with his commands Boris swiftly brought his large sword downward to the ground. The fray that he had originally had intended on bursting through was seemingly two young females. Normally the bear man wouldn't dream of attack women mostly because of the fact they were physically weaker then he was, but these two seemed different very very different. Both of them were tainted in the smell of Lascian blood. Enraged, Boris charged ahead at the two girls, his commands had already been given to his pokemon they just needed to follow him to the fight. With his massive strength combined with his sword the bear man estimated one or two powerful swings would be more then enough to take the two of them out.

Victoria blinked, puzzled by why the riders had galloped back. They did not look happy by it by any means, but it looked like they were alright for the moment. Leaning on her staff, she glanced over at the girl.
"That should give you enough time to get over there to your Cubone," she said, after another blink or so. It was then she started to take stock of her own Pokemon. Orlando was already by her side again, tired of all this rain (which seemed to still be coming down.) Kenan was on her shoulder, the poor bird having a hard time taking a rest in all this chaos. Thibaut looked either angry or freaked out again, she couldn't tell with him. He was, after all, a lizard.
Then there was Benolo.
Wait, where was Benolo?
Glancing behind her, she stared down at the Poochyena, who had his paws over his eyes and was trembling. Why did she catch him again? The poor thing...
Then her eyes traveled upwards. Were those reinforcements? It looked like a man and his Pokemon...
"Hey," she said, glancing over at the other girl, "We've got compa-"
Then her eyes darted back over towards the man and his Pokemon. It didn't... look like ... reinforcements... anymore...
"BAD! BAD BAD!"
She glanced down at her Pokemon. Orlando had noticed the threat the moment Victoria noticed the threat was a threat, and had darted to her side, ready to attack the man with a Flamethrower if he tried to swing at his Keeper. Thibaut and Kenan were a little later on the uptake, if only because of their varying conditions. The former of the two was set off to one side, trying to get a good look at his surroundings.
"Double Kick the nearest one Thibaut," Victoria instructed, eyes on the man. She was already ready to dodge the man coming at her, her staff now in both of her hands. If she had to block, she would, but she would want to dodge it first. He looked big, and if she had to block, she wasn't sure she'd be ready to block another attack from recoil.
Kenan held his ground, wary of any electric types that the man might have had. He was ready to fly off in case Victoria needed full mobility of her arm, but until then... he readied a Growl. No one was in his way, and he could help... somehow.
"Oi, Beno, either help or GET OUT OF THE WAY!"
The Poochyena stared up at his Keeper a moment, looked behind him, and darted off, not far enough away to abandon Victoria, but out of the way enough to hopefully not get hit.

A hand tightened its grip on a dagger, which hung close to a frightened and alarmed face. Feet paced uneasily between each other, on the soggy ground. Drops of precipitate persisted in cascading across the girl's entire being, as she realised she'd made a grave error. Petrification had at that moment taken a hold of her, pure fear gripping each and every muscle with definite awareness made clear to our thief that she wouldn't move anywhere. Her mind was now replaced solely with self-curses on how deep a folly this had been, and how she should never have been involved in the skirmish; this was war, it was no Pokemon Battle, and she couldn't hide it from herself any more.
She was allowed a brief movement; her lips parted as a raindrop collided against her cheek, and she exhaled a whimper, as the oncoming cavalry drew closer. You fool! Her heart was fluttering harder than an anxious Butterfree, though her body remained concretely still. What were you thinking? Her eyes, most prominently, remained locked on the oncoming rider, their deep emerald retaining a frightened glare on that glinting blade, atip the end of the lance. You've thrown away all that Mum fought for! She felt her legs faulter, though still couldn't control them, and as they gave away a second time, she fell into the inreasingly muddy ground. Failure.
Lacrima looked at the Gastly with utmost surprise as the Pokemon greeted him in quite friendly and yet with words that suggested something more. He arched an eyebrow from beyond his bone mask, before readjusting his weight, planting his feet more firmly into the ground, and inspecting this potential friend. Friends were still something the Cubone was less than comfortable, and were his chances of success not so labouredly weak, he probably would've started attacking the being, solely because he knew how to do little else.
"Ah, yes... Sorry about that whole killing thing... I hope you understand how it was... And hey, it means you're here instead now, right?" he settled for saying, hoping the Gastly continued to shower that sense of apathy across his feelings, as the being expressed his new intentions. Again, Lacrima raised an eyebrow, this time confused by the idea of possession. Some of the other words, too, remained liberated of his grasp, but simple intuition allowed him to exercise the gaps for a more comprehensive meaning. Possession, though, did not, and he spent a few moments pondering on what the ghost Pokemon meant, exactly, before hazarding a bet on what he could.
"Possess? Do you... Take hold of bodies? That's... intruiging..." and upon such revelation, the Cubone began to consider the Pokemon in a new light... He would be a very much versatile being if he were capable of swapping his form when desired, like a Ditto. And if capable of fighting in of itself, that gave it an advantage over even the little blob. And so as Lacrima looked at this Pokemon in a new respecting light, he thought too about recruiting it for the purposes of Lucianna... "What about the Ponyta? Would that not suffice...? And I know just who you should play tricks upo-" though he was interrupted by the sound of trumpets before he finished, making him turn his head from the social corner, over to where Luci must be.
Tears now streamed down the girl's eyes, mingling betwixt the raindrops which clung hopelessly to her face. She didn't even hear the trumpets, as she sit crumpled in the ground, retaining a painful sense of self-pity. She didn't even realise that only when she gave up had she thrown away her hopes, and whether or not she would one day was lost on the girl, still bound by her emotions. And yet, whilst she continued to rest there, the occasional choked whimper breaking her silence, she began to notice that nothing had happened. There was no Ponyta, no lance, no death... None of it, as though she was in a whole different world. And yet the tears, rain, ground, and noises confirmed she was still here.
A voice instructed her that they had company. Her head shot up, eyes growing puffy once more, and she looked up to see the girl who was supposedly helping her, speaking. She was giving her Pokemon orders, apparently intent on attacking some guy who was approaching, though Luci couldn't see him for all the blurriness. Something else, too, had cropped into her mind, allowing her to chuck aside any concerns for things like the mad berserker intent on killing her. Now that she wasn't about to die, she looked around for her pair of brave, brave Pokemon... Acker was beside her, having contently watched the opponents leave. He was still sporting wounds and tiredness from the battle, but still had more than enough in him to remain here, beside Luci.
She struggled to her feet, before rubbing the cleanest part of a now muddied hand against her eyes, so that she might better see her Cubone. She already knew roughly whereabouts he was, and began stumbling in a dazed state towards him. Her mind was furiously alive and yet uselessly vacant too, and she was tripping as much as she was walking. Acker followed close behind, being the only one to still keep his wits on battle, and ensure they weren't attacked... A Drain Punch to anyone who might try. Lacrima, meanwhile, watched with only slight concern, not sure whether he himself had done the right thing in suggesting to haunt his Keeper using the Ponyta's corpse... OH WELL!

Summer stood by her word, and allowed Minun from her PokeOrb, and immediatly onto her shoulder. "See, that wasn't so bad, and you get sit up here for now." Summer grinned, Minun seemed rather relaxed now, and calmer now that the evil orb was well away.
Summer was preparing to leave the area of the big tree, and when she glanced up to see what was about, and the hint of red caught her eye. She HAD to get a closer look, she began to weave through the trees, staff in hand. 'Why this an army.' Summer glanced at the passing people. 'They are all heading in one direction, something must not be right.' Summer had a feeling there was an incoming battle, or a battle had already commenced, she had to protect Ulster, after all, she didn't live too far from the center of the town.
Summer had actually never saw the emblem before, however she knew that it was obviously important. Summer was more then prepared for most things that would be throwen at her. 'I AM going to help.' She thought, this was for Ulster, for her home, she wouldn't let the dirty Lascians get into the city, there was absolutely no way, Summer knew that they had to be stopped, and she was going to aide whomever was also there.
Summer checked she was well equiped, she had her four pokemon, Tauros, being the Tank for her team, she could use him to charge at various people at once, however it was going to be a test for her to see whether he would actually obey her, this was going to be a test as a Keeper, as well as a test for her ability to protect her Country.
"For my country!" Summer just had to join the army, and hopefully her help would be welcomed.

Well. I'm out of the safety range now. From here, anything could happen. I'll have to be on my best guard, though I have to ask myself why did I come here in the first place? Lysander thought, still taking in deep breaths as he kept moving closer towards the battle. His sprint slowly came to a slow stop as he began to gaze all over the area. Besides the fighting, his light blue eyes were drawn and caught to the attention of two females that were in the distance.
I...I can't make out who they are. Lascian, Caledonian? Which are they? If I approach and they turn out o be members of the other side, then I might have to cut them down. However, if they're nothing but soldiers on the front lines, I'll have to support them as best I can. Still, I can't be too sure. I'll have to approach cautiously and make sure I give no indications of any hostile movements. Who would've thought it take some actual thought to be a Soldier?
The sarcastic tone set in his mind. A contrast to the general philosophy that a soldier just needs to know how to fight for his liege. Often compared to just being dogs, loyal, fierce and ready to defend their masters to the end. Lysander, could compared to his to an extent. Though, beyond these qualities, he had others that separated him from the others.
At least in his mind.
His feet were set into motion once more, each step becoming fairly quicker to the last as he was making his way towards the two females. His right hand had flourished over towards the hilt of his sword, getting a firm grasp on it. Eyes switching back and forth between his left and right side, though primarily focused in front of him. The woman that had two Pokemon around seem to be within his immediate reach. [Lucianna]
Hopefully, I don't have to fight anyone and I can ask her what's the battle's in favor in. Base don that, I might be able see where I'm needed. Granted, if she's a soldier that is. If she turns out to be apart of the Lascian side, Then, I'll be in trouble. Especially seeing how I only have Schneider on me. I'll just have to be cautious.
He still moved towards her.

With Summer among them, the Caledonian army trumpeted a final warning, a call to arms, and charged as a group towards their opponent across the flat stretch of land that was the road. Someone may have had the advantage of height if they were at any other point across the fields, but the road wound along a fairly flat stretch of land, for the ease of carts and wagons, and gave each an equal footing opportunity. Simultaneous with the trumpeted order to advance, bowstrings let their load fly, and from both sides came a rain of arrows, wood and metal arching down through the air to stick into leather armor, muscle, or skin, or reflect off of plated armor and land in the dirt to be trampled beneath the foot soldiers' feet.
Lascia, perhaps, got the worst of the initial volley, as they were currently immobile, while the Caledonian soldiers fared slightly better in that they, at least, were moving. People fell on each side, regardless, a precious few dead, others merely injured, and before the battle could even be called officially joined screams of pain rent the air and echoed through the cloudless sky.
But a moment afterward, Lascia's foot soldiers too had departed their position and rushed forward, weapons held high and shields held close, fear and hate in their eyes in varying amounts. The clash of weapons rang like thunder as the two forces met, and battle cries turned to grunts and yells, some insults, some pleas, others wordless but filled with emotion. The battle was joined in earnest.
~*~
Summer, dispensable foot soldier that she had become, was one of the first into the fray, her Pokemon alongside her, and was one of the first to be targeted by an enemy.
Two enemies, in fact, perhaps a pair of friends working together to watch each others' back. It was an effective tactic, and good reason to make friendly with your fellow soldiers. It helped to keep you alive. Unfortunately Summer had no such time to meet people, had barely had enough time to meet up with the army.
They seemed a good team, as well, as one of them rushed her with a spear, the blade flashing in the sunlight, and the other stood several feet behind him, aiming carefully with a crossbow over his shoulder, apparently waiting....but for what?
Just as the first man stepped within range, his spear lashed out, stabbing directly for Summer's stomach, and as he did so he leaned forward and down. Behind him, his compatriot made final adjustments on his crossbow and pulled the trigger, loosing a bolt over his friend and aimed at Summer's, to pierce her skull if she managed to step back and out of range of the spear's stab.
~*~
From the main body of Lascians a small group, two mounted units, one upon a Rapidash and the other a Ponyta, detached and raced down the hill in the direction of the troops that had been originally seeking out the attacker with the lightning. They had seen one, a woman, go down, and there was still a man left standing. Their intentions were to take down the man and recover the Pokemon and weapons that they could from the fallen, as well as collect the both of them as prisoners, if possible.
There weren't many in the war yet, and they could be valuable commodities.
The Ponyta-rider took off for the young man, a wedge between him and Rinoa, while the Rapidash rider bore down upon Rinoa, releasing a Graveler to begin taking care of her Pokemon, or distracting them until he could reclaim them with her own Pokeorbs.
The rider dismounted as his horse continued on, circling the small group of four and making sure that none fled, and he rifled quickly through Rinoa's things for her Pokeorbs, returning each of the three as they fought the Graveler and the Rapidash in a losing, but plucky battle. None of them were fainted, or too badly injured from the brief engagement, but would receive treatment later regardless. That accomplished, little distractions out of the way, the young man hefted Rinoa's unconscious body onto his Rapidash's back and leaped back up behind her, one hand on her back to keep her there, and the other on an open satchel, so that Graveler could deposit the affections of the felled soldiers there.
With Rinoa and the usable supplies recollected, the Graveler was returned and the rider directed his Rapidash to the main group once more for further orders.
[I'll continue this in your story when I've finished up this battle post in its entirety.]
[Rinoa gained 9 Exp]
~*~
As Lucianna began to wander from her compatriot, and the as-yet unrecognized entrance of Lysander began to wander towards Victoria, the would-be Berserker rushed the young woman at a much higher rate of speed.
One might say it was a murderous rate of speed.
At his side ran Brother, his little right fist glowing somewhat in the murky light available through the rain that was just beginning to clear as the hot sun beyond started to burn the clouds off. It sizzled and crackled slightly as the rain struck it, but he didn't seem to mind, or even notice. Beside him, Boris' claymore flashed in the growing sunlight as if it were a thing alive as well as he raised it over his head.
Victoria was not entirely unprepared for the assault, however, as ramshackle as her defenses were, and at her feet Orlando immediately loosed a tongue of flame at the incoming duo out of sheer panic, which was largely understandable. It was, unfortunately, just slightly too early, and only Brother ended up running into the flames, where Boris managed to stop himself before burning his bangs and eyebrows off. The little bear yelped in pain and turned, skidding on the wet grass, to scramble back the way he had come, bounding into Boris' legs and rolling off to one side as his Keeper nearly tripped and was sent almost-sprawling into the fire, barely recovering himself and managing not to lop any body parts off.
His scalp, however, was not quite so fortunate, as the Shinx struggled to keep his footing, kicking awkwardly at the helmet as he tried to keep a scrabbling hold on the smooth surface, resulting in its sliding forward, briefly covering his eyes, and would require a hand to push it back up, and possibly dislodge the Shinx. The little lion's claws found purchase, eventually, in the back of Boris' scalp, and dug deep into the skin there. The kicking motions ended up kicking up long scrapes, from which blood flowed freely, and sent small clumps of hair falling to the ground. It wasn't really damaging but it hurt. It hurt like hell.
Things didn't go quite so well for Thibaut, however, as he leaped forward with the approach of the ridiculously long-tongued mammal, striking out with one foot, planning to follow up with the other.
No, the Lickitung had already jumped to do so, and its right foot slammed against the little Grass-type's chest, quickly followed up by its left, sending the Treecko hurtling back against his Keeper's chest and sending her stumbling backwards, Kenan squawking and flapping up off of her shoulder. It was distraction enough for a bolt of badly-aimed lightning, that would have missed had they not moved, to strike the bird.
Another squawk combined with the smell of charred meat preceded Kenan's crashing to the ground beside Victoria.
Cerberus, somewhat behind Boris, hadn't a clear shot for his flame, and so held back for the moment, waiting for an opening...
~*~
Lucianna's targets, both of them, had yet to move, and the Gastly had actually managed to draw Lacrima's attention back to him with a rather interested sort of cough. What use a ghost had for clearing his throat, one could only begin to fathom a guess at. "Say, that does sound like something of a capital idea...the corpse is fresh, and in good condition...a mighty form, indeed, as well..." Eyebrows raised slightly in consideration, the ghost floated about the body, gaseous trail forming a temporary cage about the body with his speed.
"'Twould be a good time, I think...ye've a mind for amusement, young warm-blood. I think this just might suit me well..." He halted his circling to look back at the little Ground-type, and then over his shoulder at the human girl stumbling their way towards them, looking quite out of sorts about something.
"Oh dear, this isn't her Ponyta, is it? Might she be unhappy were I to possess it?" He grew thoughtful momentarily. "Though I suppose that is an acceptable level of ghostly terrorism...oh, what to do...."

Blue Group
Victoria's eyes were pure panic as the man came barreling at them. It was a wonder Orlando did not let off a flame attack earlier. His ears were flat on his head as he stared at the opposing group in something that could have been considered as either fear or anger, or a little of both. Deep in his throat was a loud growl, but he was ready to let off another flame attack if he had to.
As Thibaut was being tossed around, Victoria did not even notice that he was coming her way until he barreled right into her, sending her back a few steps, and sending Kenan to an untimely electric attack.
It was a wonder Victoria was anywhere near as composed as she was. She was not known for it, after all.
Her eyes fell to both Pokemon, the injured gecko and seagull. The latter of the two had had enough for the day, it looked like, even if the electric attack was not that powerful. That Shinx looked a bit clumsy, from what happened before...
However, she had little time to act. There was no time for a panic attack. She was the front line between this man and the other woman behind her, and, even though they had their differences, she was not going to let someone fall from an unfair advantage like that.
It was only after she was sure that the man was distracted with his own Pokemon's troubles that she acted.
"Beno, I need you to give a good Taunt to those two Pokemon," she whispered into her still cowering Poochyena's ear, "And wait for that Shinx to come down... if he does anyways. If he doesn't, just stay right where you are. I won't let anything happen to you. Orlando, I trust you'll have that Teddiursa..."
Orlando nodded in confirmation, though did not look back at her. He kept close to Benolo, who stared up at the scene. He could do this, his Keeper depended on it. And she promised that nothing drastic was going to happen... It was obvious he might get hurt, but he wanted minimal damage, right?... There was no time to argue right now...
Whipping out a potion was the next thing she did, as well as Kenan's PokeOrb, returning the Wingull as quickly as she could, while spritzing the Potion on Thibaut's wounds. Hopefully that would help a little bit.
"Thibaut... that Lickitung's got more power than we thought..." she whispered lightly, "Try for distance attacks. Even if he counters that again with whatever he's got over there... putting distance between you and him might mean that he's got a worse accuracy... Just stick close to me... Bullet Seed might do the trick, and if he gets too close, Leer him down..."
Her eyes wandered from Wingull to the Keeper for a brief moment, and then over to one side. There was an opening it looked like. She was scared for her family, her Pokemon friends, and they were starting to lose a battle she was not even aware of. It was time for them to go...
But her point stood. She was not going to leave the other Keeper without knowing the girl had some help, or at least some back up. It was clear that the man had a little more training than the two of them, and, though she hardly expected to win right off, she knew that two Keepers and a handful of Pokemon were better than one Keeper and a smaller handful.
But it didn't look like there was anyone in sight. So she returned her gaze to the Lascian Keeper, ready to dodge a blow he might get at her with.

Now double teaming wasn't particullary fair, especially when Summer was unable to dodge both of the attacks. The screams of death sickened her, then with the blatent manouvre that the pair had pulled, it was obvious that it had been well practised. Summer's Minun, who was perched upon her shoulder was quickly jerked as Summer moved tried to move out of the way, but it seemed that it wasn't going to possible, the only possible tactic now, was to attack herself, however he staff wasn't able of reaching the man with the Crossbow. If she was luck, she maybe would be able to hit the arrow away, but she would have to be very fast!!
Her only other choice was Minun, she didn't have enough time to actually release Tauros, Poochy or Skorupi. "Minun, em, use a Charge Beam!" Summer ordered, she was in a panicked state. She had to stop that bolt from getting near her, and all she could think of, was either attacking it, or hitting the floor, and hopefully, with the aid of Minun, she could do the latter. Minun seemed to charge power, ready to set it off, as soon as that happened, Summer would hit the floor. She had no armor, and she was all alone with a group of people that she had never met, if she had some friends, they would of been able to help her, but it seemed that she was doomed.
'Someone, anyone? Help?' Summer was all alone now, she was going to have to act fast.
[Sorry a bit naff :(]
