     Posted Image Creating a Character:
This Pokémon Role-Play, PRP for short, is what's known as a "Trainer Only" role-play. This means the only characters we allow are trainers. Pokémon are role-played as extensions of our characters; as pets or familiars that we control the actions of. For example:
You: Pikachu circles around my legs attempting to get my attention
      You: "Pika, Pikachu!"
You: Hm? What is it Pikachu? I say looking down to him scurrying about

In this role-play, Trainers will be describing everything that they encounter in vivid detail through their perspective while journeying alongside their partner Pokémon.

The way that characters will be distributed is different for each person, depending on what they choose to role-play as. Each person is allowed one character each. The one exception to this rule is when staff members create MPCs (Minor Playable Characters) in which they may use to propel the story. In this role-play, MPCs will consist of the four Gym Leaders and the Elite Four. The position of Champion will remain vacant until the role-play reaches the Elite Four ARC. However, there is still a reigning MPC Champion that must be defeated.

In order to create a new character if you have one already, you must have the existing character be sent to the Restoration Index and the new one will be approved. A character must have been existed for one week before it can be restored and a new one may be created. Old characters may be restored with approval of staff, but only after the previous character has existed for a week. Characters may only be brought back once a month.

All characters may start the role-play with one Pokémon. It has been decided that all members may start out with any single Rank 1, first stage pokémon that is considered legal and valid according to the following list below. The starting pokémon is allowed a single egg move and any four moves that they are capable of learning through their typical level-up method for a total of four moveslots. These moves are any four in the pokémon's level 1-10 moveset. In addition to having any four moves, the member may also choose whether or not they want their Pokémon to be shiny over having an egg move (you may choose one or the other, not both). All moves will be verified for legality to ensure a positive role-play environment.
As of August 13th, 2017, we will be allowing the addition of a second playable character! One prerequisite for doing so, is by having a character for at least 1 month from creation. The final prerequisite is that you must have been active periodically throughout that month. Once these requirements are met, you may ask one of the Admins about being allowed to create a second character. Below is the list of guidelines that must be met while you are creating, and/or RP'ing your new character. New!
Secondary Character Guidelines

Illegal Starting Pokémon

All legal Pokémon are available for capture in the Sinnoh Region. This means that typically region-exclusive Pokémon such as Bulbasaur may be found in the region, this is due to the safeguarding of species promoted by the protected environments and licensed breeding. Pokémon should be caught in their appropriate environments, so a Bulbasaur would most likely be found in the jungle or a grassland. Similarly, a Charmander may be found near a volcano, etc. Certain other Pokémon such as Cleffa, Igglybuff and other baby Pokémon not named Elekid, Magby or Smoochum may only be found in Pokémon eggs. Fossil Pokémon are also not obtainable in the wild. There will be events that allow you to obtain rewards, and one such reward may be a Pokémon egg or a fossil.

Any acquired/bred eggs require three (3) full 24 hour days to hatch. You must be active during this period. For more information on breeding check here.

Egg moves may only be learned through a move tutor, for further information on egg moves, click here!

All newly caught Pokémon start out at Rank 1. The exception to this rule is if you have a Rank 5 Pokémon, then you may catch Rank 2 Pokémon. If you have a Rank 10 Pokémon, you may catch Rank 3 Pokémon.

The only exception to the above rules (excluding Legendary Pokémon, these will be for plot purposes) is when a character is made as a Gym Leaders, Elite Four member, or Organization leader(s). Organizations will develop as the plot unfolds, and members may be free to create their own once the time comes. We will makes an announcement regarding this decision later on. (Currently Disabled!)

Organizations: Organizations include any group that serve a purpose good or bad such as Team Galactic, Azure Academy, etc.
Leaders: Organization Leaders/Founders may have up to three Rank 3 Pokémon, the remaining must be trained and evolved through further scenes.
Admins: Organization Admins/Commanders may have up to two Rank 3 Pokémon who will progress normally thereafter. Any new pokémon caught must be in their most basic form.
Recruits: Organization Recruits/Grunts may be given one Rank 3 Pokémon from their organization's available pokémon. The rest must be in their basic form.

There are a few steps to catching a new pokémon, and they are as follows:
Locating the Pokémon: Don't expect to enter a scene and be allowed to spot just any pokémon your heart desires. Scenes will have a particular environment in the topic statement, and only certain pokémon can be found in each environment. Forests, for example, serve as a home for many grass, flying, normal, and bug-type pokémon. Please be realistic.
Battling the Pokémon: As I'm sure you're aware in order to capture a pokémon you must first make it incapable of battling by means of incapacitating, paralyzing, weakening, or otherwise luring it. Another option, though uncommon, is to befriend the pokémon.
Capturing the Pokémon: Once the pokémon is unable to battle further, go ahead and toss your poké ball at it! Be warned though: some pokémon cannot simply be caught by a mere poké ball. Sometimes stronger, rarer, pokémon require Great Balls or even Ultra Balls. There are also specialized poké balls that excel at capturing rare pokémon of a specific type, weight, or location. These poké balls can be found and bought in the role-play's very own Poké Mart.

All new characters are given several tools: a Rank 1 legal Pokémon, 5 Poké Ball, a ribbon case, a badge case, and 5 Battle Points (BP). Other items such as fishing poles, Pokétch, bikes, etc. may also be included in your character's biography free of charge.
      Posted Image Code of Conduct:
Please refrain from using racial, religious, ethnic, sexist, homophobic or other inappropriate slurs in your subject lines, thread body or the Discord chat. A filter will be employed if necessary, followed by more severe punishment.

Metagaming is banned from the role-play. Metagaming is taking Out-of-Character information and using that information In-Character, even though your character may have never even heard the information themselves. An example would be knowing that a person is going to be planning a battle against you, and you avoid them in-character.

Do not hijack threads with your new topic. Posting a topic which is similar but distinct from the original topic means that replies must either ignore your post or that of the original poster. Stealing is frowned upon in this role-play.

Advertising of other forums and groups is frowned upon, unless first confirmed with an admin.

Please post a subject title that provides a clear indication of subject that it regards inside of the topic content. Posting something like "PKM G ULTIMATE BOY GUZMA NINJA" does not communicate anything about the creation that you are posting. While this is fine for out of character topics, please refrain from doing so for a topic that is meant to represent your creation(s).

Do not "bump" posts. The act of posting simply to bump a thread is considered spamming.

Petition posts are frowned upon. These are discussion forums and, as such, we ask that you hold discussions. Creating a thread to ask for replies as votes is not a discussion. Threads violating this guideline are subject to deletion.

Do not post about locked or deleted threads. Posts that are moderated have a reason behind the moderation. It's up to you to read the forum Code of Conduct and these guidelines to determine what you did wrong, learn from your mistake, and attempt to post again without breaking any rules.

Biographies & In-character topics are not for your unnecessary spam whether they be comments, trolling, or otherwise. Complimenting a well-made biography or posting concerns about coding or errors are acceptable, but any other type of post will be deleted and met with aggression from the staff. You've been warned.

Respect, common courtesy, and common sense are three major aspects of this role-play. All members are expected to employ all three while occupying the forum or role-play rooms or they will be forced to take it elsewhere.

Do not force other characters into your storyline without their permission; this includes both personal scenes and forcing relationships with other characters.

Do not integrate your backstory into the main plot in a way that thrusts your character into what can be considered "main character" status. We're all equally important and should be treated as such without favoritism.

Limit out-of-character (OOC) conversations to the official PRP Discord. That's why it's there.

If given a position of power within the role-play or its Discord chat, (Moderator, Gym Leader, Elite Four, Organization Leader) you are expected to act as an authoritative figure and are held to a higher standard of conduct than everyone else. Kicking, muting, banning, deleting posts/threads, etc. will result in loss of privileges. If you follow the above rules this should never be an issue.
