Its a 4 lane freeway (Hwy 5) running from Hope BC, 100 miles east of Vancouver to Kamloops BC, through the Coquihalla Pass. It was a toll highway until about 3 years ago. It is a very dangerous highway in winter due to steep grades and the high amount of truck traffic that uses it. It is featured in a TV series called "Highway to Hell" run on NatGeo in Canada and another channel in the US. Good series if you've never seen it. Oddly enough the scenery along it is not as good as the 2 alternate routes, Hwy 3 ( The Hope-Princeton hwy) & Highway 1 (The Fraser Canyon hwy). The Coquihalla pass was formerly used by the, now defunct, Kettle Valley Railway, which held some sort of record for trestles, many of which still exist. The engineer for that railway was a Shakespeare fan and many of the features along this highway are named after his plays or characters in them.

I've been watching the Highway to Hell on our Weather Channel. They reference the COQ often.

I knew it was carried in the US, but not which channel. I even saw it on Mexican TV.

It's a great ride if the weather's good - knocks quite a bit of time off the traditional routes.
