Remnants of the first A-Bomb blast

In 1968 traveled to the site of the first Atom bomb explosion in New Mexico. It is located on the northern edge of what is now the White Sands Missile Range. The site is called the "Trinity Site". There is a saucer shaped indentation about 1100 feet in diameter. The saucer contained green coke bottle glass from the melted sand. I retrieved a shoe box full of the stuff and it has been in the exwifes paws since my divorce many moons ago. Question, you think this stuff has any value and I should entice my kids to claim some for me?

I had a dosimeter. Radiation was only a smidgeon higher than background radiation. I also have a 2 ft section of a used fuel rod. No big deal.

It's called trinitite and has some value if you can prove provenance.

Yes, I remember, Trinitite. The glass is rough on the outside from the sand granules, unlike melted coke glass which is smooth.

Post an ad on EBay for a few grams and see what sort of bids you get. There are some dealers selling the stuff and it looks like it's going for about $10 a gram. Bigger pieces are a bit more per gram. A serious collector looking for large samples will want proof of provenance.
