SB 350 (de León) would require a 50% reduction in petroleum, 50% increase in renewables for electricity generation and a 50% increase in the energy efficiency of buildings by 2030. In regard to the 50% gasoline and diesel reduction provisions, SB 350 would grant the Air Resources Board significant authority to adopt regulations that will result in a 50% reduction in petroleum use in cars and trucks by 2030. Yes thats why we pump our own oil out of the ground, refine it here and we are paying double the price per gallon of every other state |

Well, hell, you could go back to the good old days of smog draped cities and polluted water if all you think about is the price of gasoline. |

We should never use our own resources and provide our own gas and oil. It is better to get it from the middle east so we can send our soldiers over there to die for it. Much better that way. Shut down all oil production in the United States and surrounding waters, we need more soldiers killed. |

Yes I did. It talks about 15 years from now. That should be enough time to convert to alternatives and if it isn't, the law can be amended. |

Is there any other state that does what California is already doing? No. I think all they will do is destroy our economy even more. BTW we do not have polluted water like many other states. Furthermore, I am not asking to "go back" to smog draped cities. I am asking for reasonable alternatives and deadlines. Do not forget I have a 12kw solar photovoltaic system on my house. The joke about CA is they punish the ones making an effort. For example, I cut my water usage back over a year ago. I took out my lawn and went with a desert landscape and hardly use any water. But they just implemented new rules and somehow I must cut MY water usage by 35% or be fined. I ask, how do I do that? Take 35% less showers? As it is I wet, soap up and turn water back on to rinse. WTF am I to do so I too do not get fined. The rules saud everyone, not the ones who have yet to cut back.....EVERYONE |

jcapps, You should fall under minimum use rules if what you say is true and you don't have other usage. Limits here are well above my normal use, so I get a note that shows what the cut would be, but also a note saying my use is below minimum for required usage cuts. Reasonable alternatives and deadlines are debatable. What you think is unreasonable, someone else might think isn't enough. |
