Massive Buyback Action; Haircut for Your 401k

Start watching the buyback numbers, the rich got much richer in the first few minutes of this morning's stock market this morning. Your losses are going straight into the .01%'s pocket. Nice game if you can afford the computer power.

Lots of buyback action today, money that is going straight out of the mom and pop 401k's! .01% setting up another huge move, returning industry to North America, with the customary 15% rake off the top.

Why doesn't the Dow reflect the "massive buyback" by posting positive numbers?

Thumper,
Buy backs are done on the dips and are automated and controlled to not impact the price in an upward manor.

How is that?

Most of the buybacks are done in the "dark pools", not open to standard tracking and are setup to buy in a price band in small random sized lots.

Too deep for me but thankfully my T Rowe Price fund doesn't vary much with the wild flings.
