First time in this area, having a great time. We hit all the sights, Wall Drug, the Badlands, Custer, Keystone, Deadwood, Lead, sturgis etc etc. At Lead we visited the Homestake gold mine that was in operation until recently. It has 270 miles of tunnels down as far as 8,000 feet. The mine was closed recently and donated to a scientific group called Sanford Homestake Research. They are currently doing Dark Matter/Energy research at the 5,000 ft level. Temps at that depth excees 130 degrees F. |

We didn't see any Cody Museum. In Wyoming? I love the Black Hills. Beautiful in every regard. The sky is so clear you can see all the way to Russia. I didn't have one single migraine headache out there. I return to Missouri and whammo, a splitting headache. My 5th wheel and truck performed flawlessly. Glad I switched from motor homes to the 5th. |
