A big hangout for the Canadian Snowbirds is here at Gulf State Park, Alabama has just raised there rates efective immediately by $240 per/mo. No forewarning. We bailed out as did half the RV park. I feel for the Cabadians since they are already being hit with the 30% $$$$ differential. It really has scattered all are friends.

Too far north anyway!

I like the daytime temps low to mid eighties,
high sixties, low seventies at night.

We have a ton of unhappy Canadian Snowbirds here right now. Their favorite park here, Gulf State Park, raised the monthly rate from about $475/Mo to $750/Mo. This along with the $$$ exchange rate has them scattering in search of more affordable accommodations. We bagged out immediately and found a much better place a lot less expensive with all the perks.

Whoops double post.

Yeah, but you are down there with all them snakes, gators, spiders, fire ants and pythons, and short driving distance to Jim Miller.

We are counting down the days to our first snowbirding experience. We're leaving Ohio in early January to spend our first winter at the condo. Up until this time the condo has been sitting empty for most of the time and we'd only get down there for 2 or 3 weeks each year. Our Canadian side of the family would spend winters there - free rent and they spent time upgrading the apartment. New kitchen, new flooring, new bathrooms... we'd buy the stuff and they did the installation.

Hoping for a warm 3 months on the Treasure Coast!

The Treasure Coast is the best part of Florida!
We stayed in Ft Pierce out near the jetty for years
until the buildings were destroyed by a hurricane.

And we live in the best town on the Treasure Coast - Stuart. Martin County passed a zoning ordinance years ago prohibiting building anything over 4 stories tall. Cruising up the coast you can tell when you leave Palm Beach County and hit the Martin county line. And then again, when you hit the St. Lucie county line. Martin has miles of open beach front and some low rise condos. Palm Beach and St. Lucie are cheek to jowl with 15 and 20 story condo complexes.

We can't wait!
