Hi! We're going at it once again! The game should be up sometime this week. RTD is coming back once more, with a few changes. Most importantly is the change that traditionally closed, app-only clans are completely open for you to play. In fact, the only clan that isn't completely open is the Sarutobi clan. The Senju, Uchiha, Hozuki, Kaguya -- all of these clans are open for you to play as. They come with the benefits of their clan too; for the Senju, this means special core rules, mokuton potential, and the chance to receive T4 Stamina. For the Uchiha, this means early access to fire, special fire jutsu, and a chance to develop sharingan. For the Hozuki this means you can learn you clan's techniques, and for the Kaguya this means that not all kaguya will be manifesting bone manipulation. Unlocking it will be difficult. The villages open are Amegakure and Konohagakure. Just about every clan is open, as said. The things that specifically require applications are: Clan Starters Clan Heirs Main Branch Hyuuga (mostly because they are the clan heirs.) Sarutobi This means that developing your abilities as a normally available clan, like the Akimichi will be just as easy as before. Developing your abilities as a traditionally closed clan will be a much more difficult path to take by comparison. The stand-outs of each clan will be rewarded for it. Additionally, skillcards and styles have received a bit of an overhaul. Normal, low-ranked skillcards won't really fly here anymore for taijutsu, kenjutsu, etc. Most skillcards will be C-rank above. We're looking for things like Lion Combo, or Ura Renge -- not things like Elbow, or a really fast uppercut. Combos, tricks, etc. are all things likely to be approved. A skillcard should be more closely associated with doing really cool things like kicking up a dragon with your legs, and not with every single attack you might attempt in close range combat. I understand this is vague, so I'll be working closely with you to determine what you would need a skillcard to perform/to amplify, and what would be a waste of points. Styles before had every player creating their own. Now there exists a few generic styles -- and I would love some help creating more -- for players to pick from. Developing your own style is not necessary, and is something that will generally be reserved for those seeking to excel in physical combat. You may create it from scratch, or branch it off at any tier just as before. Teaching has been changed as well, and redone to hopefully make more sense for everyone involved. There may, at some point, be perks that modify the teaching system for unique individuals. Please see the guide section to find out more. Jutsu's have been changed. Before, the costs were one-size-fits-all except for clan jutsu. While this worked, we've decided to assign an individual cost to each and every jutsu. If you see a jutsu is missing, please send me a PM or contact me in some way to see if we can get it in the official library, which is still under construction. I could use some help with this, so those willing to do so are strongly encouraged to hit me up to earn my thanks! Our goal is also to expand jutsu for each clan as well, and give them a ton to choose from. If you have any ideas, I also encourage you to reach out and share them. --- Beyond that, we've also decided to put a lot more emphasis on player involvement. A big issue in the previous RTD to me is that by and large, the plot and ability to direct any sort of change was strongly out of the player's hands, and players were not necessarily rewarded for helping with events, or being part of them. Because of this, the mission system is being redone. Both players who participate and players who help run them will receive additional rewards, and the administration team will be watching carefully to make sure that while players are rewarded, they aren't the only ones receiving the rewards and running away from the rest of the game. We also want to increase the pacing. It is our goal to have a ONE WEEK Academy for both villages, as well as a to ideally reach the chuunins near the 4-5-6 week mark, depending on how things progress, and the health of the game. You should also expect a timeskip somewhere around this time as well. Player conflict is going to be one of the focuses this time around. Because of this, players should expect high risk situations when accepting missions. Players may end up in conflict against an EC that is willing to do serious damage, or against a group of opposing players. We're toying with the idea of having successful missions, etc. be able to improve the village, and grant certain advantages to their shinobi. We also want ideas from players about events that we could use, as well as plotlines. This goes as broad, general plotlines and things that can be slotted in as well, but if you have an idea for your character or a different character to have a personalized, smaller scaled storyline with event characters, we're open to those, too. --- We've also added a puppetry system, and tweaked rules here and there. There are still things under construction and subject to change, but most of these are more important later in a wipe. If you have any questions, please reach me in game or on skype about them and I can try to help, or at least put it on a DOC to address. --- At this stage, I need three things from prospective players. If they are interested in being a clan starter, I need them to fill out a rank application, and to make the title in this format -- "[CLAN NAME] STARTER" -- Players should expect, if given a starter rank, to be somewhere between C-/C+. The vast majority of starters will be chuunin level, although we may opt to make a few rookie jounin. Starters will be able to progress at a relatively normal rate soon after the start of the game, and will act as team leaders, teachers, and important figures in their village. The village kages will be lead by NPCs; Konohagakure is lead by a Senju, and Amegakure is lead by an Uchiha. We want a starter in every clan. It is possible you may be asked to play a starter for a clan besides the one you asked for. You do not have to oblige. If they are interested in being a clan heir, then I need them to apply with the same application. I need this application to detail for me the general personality you wish to go with, as well as what sort of skillset you are interested in pursuing if you can think that far ahead. If you cannot construct a basic personality, then please do not apply because you are likely not who I am looking for. Players who are approved to be the heir for the clan can expect to be thrust into a leadership role. It does not grant any additional power, experience, etc. -- but it does allow a player to make a more immediate impact, and afford additional opportunities occasionally. There may not be an heir for every clan if we don't think anyone who applied for it was worthy of this distinction. If they are interested in being an admin for this game, I need you to PM me personally. Please put your name, key, skype/discord, expected job, skills, and reasons for applying in this PM. I am unsure how much help I need at this moment. Title the PM with "[KEY]'s Admin Application" or I'll probably deny you for fucking up simple ass instructions.
