This isn’t human anymore Look into the natural heart Following the beat of the chemical This isn’t human anymore… Shaking. Shinko returned online within a blink inside of the Atlas airship with a sudden thud, feeling the motion of the ship suddenly jolt to a stop. No movement in the slightest. Looking around the chrome, clean white finishes of the inside of the airline-class Atlas airship, he quickly made the calculations. 87% chance they had landed. 3% chance they had been attacked by airship raiders. 10% that the ship was simply refueling. Which could be meshed into the 87%... Inefficient. Shinko could’ve pondered this single trend of thought for a long while before the back hatch begun to open, revealing the natural light of Remnant onto his optical sensors, better known as ‘eyes’ to many, blinding the android before he’d realized this was nothing more than glare. As the platform lowered the full ways, the true sight had been revealed to him. Greenery more intense than anything he’d seen in some artificial Atlas gardens, distant twittering of insects he could instantly name purely from his database alone along with songbirds. It was a reeling sensation, yet he could show none of it. Eventually, after what had felt like a year of staring, the android had simply stepped down the dark platform himself, slowly noticing some of the crew and other students who’d been accepted following behind him, mostly avoiding and leering at the strange thing they’d identified. Him. He was out of place. Out of any sort of fitting location he could be in. An armored, unnaturally white haired, pale faced robotic figure slowly trudging towards one place and one place alone; The path to Beacon. Shinko continued to try and not think on it, knowing his code, developing insecurities these quickly among a human environment would be sub-optimal, and not only that, would hinder his progress and development. The ground rumbled as airships slowly shook the Earth, taking off once more from the ports of the high rising Beacon, leaving as quickly as they came. The sun which gleamed over his sensors was blocked out for a moment by the looming shadow of the Atlas titan-sized ship, drifting away into the perfectly blue sky. No way to back out now… No way home. Shinko would’ve sighed if he didn’t find the action as a whole incredibly inefficient for his energy and time, slowly moving on while trying not to feel what most humans would call ‘homesick’ as he drifted past a student group of Faunus descent. It was abstract. Minimal discrimination, no humans throwing things at Faunus in the street, no absolute violence and surely not crowds and riots. Beacon was entirely peaceful, and it almost shook Shinko to his technological core. Peaceful as a school for hunters and huntresses could be, one could suppose. The white haired android was hardly dedicating any of his attention as he nearly hit the doors towards the main hall, where so many were gathering. It was… insane, to say the least. So many different vibrant colors, representing the school and many former students as even more splashes of natural paint as the students of all different sizes and clothing bunched up and gathered, awaiting the speech from the one and only headmaster of Beacon. Yes, Shinko did research him for sure. As much as there was on him anyways. The android continued to review as he swimmed through the crowds of warm bodies and careful, unsure eyes. People chattered and whispered as their rising voices nearly dulled his own thoughts with the pure amount of noise coming from them. Headmaster Ozpin; A sort of enigma in terms of literature and especially in terms of how long he’d been in activity, it was hard finding exact details in most non-fiction titles or databases. The man was mysterious- But maybe he wouldn’t be for much longer. Perhaps now he could finally clear up for starters, what in Grimm’s name he looked like, and explain what exactly they were supposed to do in the first day of the academy. Surely, that did not come with the acceptance letter to Beacon. Nothing did really, it was a fairly bland vanilla-colored letter as a response. Shinko, deep in his artificial thoughts was shocked as the crowd begun to go silent, the last stragglers of the room sneaking in through the door, remaining open as lights dulled slightly, some of Shinko’s lights glowing faintly as he stared up towards the stage with glittering perfect blue eyes. This was the time, the beginning of something… new. Sort of. “Ahem…” A voice offstage spoke. It’s time. [TOTALLY OPEN STILL. I SUGGEST JOINING AND STUFF. WC: 791] |

So this is what Beacon Academy looked like, it was vibrant and peaceful looking, a lot better than what the young man had expected! This taller individual was wearing a blue ironed out suit, with a white undershirt and a green tie to compliment it all. It didn't really help him look professional though, as he walked around asking for names and if anyone could spare a buck or two, it was a long journey and he really wanted a bite to eat. No one would offer up a single Lien to the suited man, which was unfortunate. Glynn shrugged it off, mumbling under his breath that everyone was greedy, and continued on to the main doors, behind a very pale, white haired person. Glynn looked down at the kid and chuckled to himself, wondering why in the world he'd go into the school on the first day wearing armor. He had to be stylish, like Glynn! "Man, do I look good!" A couple of girls chuckled right behind Glynn, hearing what he had said. After a bit of waiting, Glynn would make it into... Wherever they were at the last second, before the door closed behind him. Glynn looked around, the line had definitely moved past him whilst he was talking to that group of cute girls, then retrieving his briefcase once it was "accidentally" thrown in the field by one of them. He'd find his seat next to the pale individual he was behind at one point during the line. He'd then set his briefcase onto his lap and get comfy in the chair, or try to. He'd nudge the pale person with his elbow once or twice, and say "Man oh man, this is exciting, isn't it? It's super cool that we're here, don't you agree?" ~~~~~~~~~~ WC: 301 Edited by Glynn Leorio, Jan 13 2017, 07:18 PM.

Fantastic. Waiting, of course, with his perception of time was always skewed and awkward. Shinko could've waited longer but of course there was something that irked him suddenly, a sudden loud presence that wasn't there before. His audio receptors deemed it 'unpleasant' to listen to, head turning towards the source. It was a rather well dressed man, obviously a bit older than what the suggested student should be. With a sort of awkward look, Shinko returned to his seat, waiting carefully. Of course, just as the voice had begun to speak, the presentation to their future to be given, another voice on his left receptor suddenly rung. Looking over to his side he noticed the same glasses and suit wearing male, who'd just been trying to show off to a bunch of females mere minutes ago, doing the same thing. But this time, he wasn't annoying a bunch of the opposite gender... This time, it was annoying him directly. He had some sort of suitcase this time, in which the android tried to analyze while trying to come up with a response without seeming condescending. "...Yes. It is very exciting, considering we are the first class to accept licensed Grimmborn and mechanical beings of all kinds since the Great War. Cool is not the word I would use." He tried to at least keep his cool. He kept waiting for Ozpin to begin his speech, but destiny wouldn't give him that much mercy. [WC: 248 TWC: 1039] |

Glynn would look towards the stage as an older gentleman took it. He didn't recognize the person, but he thought that he was probably important to the school somehow. Since he wasn't talking yet though, he'd keep talking. "Oh, that's happening this year? I didn't even know it was happening at all. That's awesome! I bet there's a ton of talent in Grimmborn and mechanicals just waiting to be released!" Glynn would nod, trying to seem like he was somewhat professional. "I think it's pretty cool though, man. This whole school is pretty cool. It's got a good vibe around it, ya'know?" He'd lean back in his chair, hands behind his head. About 15 seconds of silence passed by between the two before Glynn jerked up and said "Oh! I forgot, my name's Glynn, by the way! Glynn Leorio. I want to become a medic for a team of hunters!" He'd offer his fairly large hand out towards Shinko in an attempt to shake hands with the person, being as friendly as he could be. ~~~~~~~~~~ WC: 177 TWC: 478 |

What in the hell had he gotten himself into. The android sort of gave a dull expression back towards the male as if he were saying the words of a deity in terms of reaction, but in reality it was simply Kiibo looking absolutely confused and dumbfounded by the attempt to sound somewhat smart. With a simple digital thought, the android tried his best to not again seem too terribly rude in his reply. "Yes, well," he paused, "I wouldn't say that. Our overall entries for Grimmborn have been zero. As for mechanical people or otherwise, as far as to my knowledge or any known statistics, I am the only entry." He finished with somewhat of a proud look. ![]() Though his expression actually remained as Glynn introduced himself. A noble purpose to attend the fair academy of Beacon! Finally, a true hero, one would say. A medical specialist could save hundreds of lives in their career, thus making their purpose as a hunter come to full fruition. The white-haired male carefully spoke in reply, "Glynn Leorio, then. I am Unit 006, but please refer to me as my common term 'Shinko'." He stood straight up still despite Glynn having been leaning back into his chair. Awkwardly, his robotic gauntlet-covered hand shook the slim-suited man's, just in time for the room to suddenly grow more dim as the audience started to calm down with chatter. Finally, something was happening. Looking over, Shinko noticed a green-scarf wearing, more tall and lanky figure of a man. The machine could recognize him from almost any piece of proper historical literature out there- Headmaster Ozpin. "Good evening, students." The headmaster begun. This was it. "O-Oh, you're a mechanical... I didn't realize, to be honest!" Glynn would chuckle nervously. This thing could probably crush him with a single pinky finger movement. His nervousness disappeared as he heard that no Grimmborn were accepted and this person in front of him was the only mechanical person in the school! He'd look at the young man closer, seeing that upon inspection he did have some robotic qualities to him. Like, what 17 year old has white hair? That's a rare trait. He'd also notice that his armor was strangely robotic, almost like it was connected to him, and he had weird black marks under his eyes. He probably should have noticed this earlier. Glynn would FIRMLY GRASP Shinko's hand and shake it, Shinko didn't actually crush it, who woulda thought. "Nice to meet you! Why did you sign up to get into Bea-" As he was finishing saying that, the lanky man at the stage started speaking, and the lights were dimmed. Glynn would turn his body to face Ozpin and say "Well, looks like it's starting, better be quiet." Glynn would take his own advice, and take out some chapstick from his suitcase and apply it. He'd put the chapstick back into his suitcase, close it, and lean back, getting comfortable. Things like these usually take a while, they sure as hell did in medical school. ~~~~~~~~~ WC: 276 TWC: 748 As Ozpin would continue, Glynn would act interested, but in fact he would be daydreaming of being on the field shooting and stabbing Grimm, then returning to his duties as a medic. Also being assigned to a team of 3 girls. That'd be cool. |

Shinko seemed somewhat unsurprised that he didn't notice. I mean, the man hardly knew his own surroundings, let alone the actual situation at hand or who was in front of him. The spiky hair of the android didn't exactly naturally flow, the overall metallic tone of his speech and outlook probably making far more sense now. He looked more like a young teen, around 16 through 17, artificial hair bouncing as he suddenly replied. "I'm sure it's an easy mistake. Perhaps you should look into checking your vision." The worst part is that wasn't sarcasm, it was a legitimate suggestion.![]() As soon as Shinko's hand was shook, the firm metal grip suddenly loosened as the voice of the headmaster rung through the hall, returning to his position and not even quickly replying under his non-existent breath as he watched the headmaster with intense eyes which would refuse to waver. To be fair, of course, it wasn't exactly eyes; Rather, they were optical sensors. "I am sorry for the late introduction so much later into the evening, however, some things needed to be organized for this years team building exam. After all, it cannot be the same every year. The headmaster merely smiled and held his mug, slowly looking over the crowd, his eyes glazing over each and every one of them, even the duo themselves. "Though, I am certain of one thing- Some things never change, like dedicated people willing to put themselves down to train as huntsmen and put their lives down for team-members. Today has been a long day for many of us, and this will be possibly the most unique year in any academy's history. Tower, with Headmaster Yasmir, has finished their meeting already, and so I will conclude our with a word or two." Ozpin cleared his throat, the pale man's shoulders relaxing. "This year we shall be allowing in-term late students to the school and other races of all kinds. While many other schools are still debating to accept this like us, we as Beacon shall treat those fellow peers, no matter who they are, with respect. Now, I see a bunch of tired souls bored of hearing an old man talk," He chuckled, "The Great Hall will be the resting place for tonight for all students. Dorms will be assigned after each of you go through the team exams with fellow students... Which could take some time." Ozpin merely looked over the crowd once more. "Dismissed." The headmaster slowly walked off stage, surprisingly not accompanied by Glynda herself, who didn't appear on the stage at all that evening. Students began to scramble and mumble as they got up and left for the Great Hall. [WC: 466 TWC: 1794] Edited by Shinko, Jan 24 2017, 10:57 PM.

Glynn would point to his glasses, and say "Well, I mean, I'm wearing glasses for a reason... Maybe I should get my prescription updated, though." Glynn would take off his glasses, and squint his eyes to look at them closer. "They may just need to be cleaned though." Glynn would breath onto them, making condensation on the outside and inside of the glasses. He'd then take a handkerchief from his pocket, and wipe them off, and promptly put them back on his face. He'd take a look another look at Shinko, noticing even more robotic features about him now that his glasses weren't smudged. "Oh yeah, you do look like a mechanical being." As Ozpin started talking, Glynn's frame perked up, listening to every word that he said like it were words from god. He assumed that the person speaking in front of him was probably this schools headmaster, that's usually how this worked, right? As Ozpin's gaze were over the two, he could've sworn that they met eyes for a moment, then Ozpin's eyes continued meandering over the rest of the crowd. Glynn had a puzzled look on his face as he mentioned Tower, but the words sparked a memory. He had a choice, the hunter that save his parents like was beginning to work over at Tower Academy, but he had urged Glynn to start at Beacon, for the best chance to get paired with someone more suited towards his personality. Glynn didn't get why the older man had done it, but he didn't care, he was just happy about getting into a hunter school at the time! Ozpin dismissed them, and there were groups on groups of people walking out towards the Great Hall. Glynn would stand up, and stretch, his arms going high above his head and his fingers interlocking, stretching out his shoulders and hands. After he was done, he'd look over towards Shinko and say "Hey, maybe we'll get paired up together! That'd be cool!" Glynn would nudge Shinko's arm with his shoulder, and give him a goofy smile. ~~~~~~~~~~ WC: 349 TWC: 1,097 |

Well, no duh, he looked mechanical. After of course he'd actually cleaned his glasses and viewed him the android almost felt like rolling the eye-like simulations made in his optical lenses before having to be focused on Ozpin, their headmaster. The whole speech felt rather otherworldy, the man himself had such an... aloof presence, as if he were part of an entirely different world from their own and seemed to simply be giving advice from a higher position than any of them could hope to be. Of course, his mind hopped and pondered, the hypothetical and possibly literal gears turning as he took in and directed them all. Slowly returning back to reality, Shinko seemed to perk up as his dull blue eyes suddenly looked up to Glynn stretching and cracking his knuckles, obviously having been stuck in that chair for far too long than he'd usually be sitting in one place. The mechanical male slowly stood up with him, the pale face seeming to slightly complex as Glynn, the suited individual, spoke. "I suppose it's possible. I doubt I can calculate the chances of that happening right now, though. Too many variables." Shinko seemed to shrug, but overall it wasn't like he was displeased with talking to Glynn. He simply returned the nudge, though it likely felt like a more brutal push due to his natural strength, the android trying to lead him to the Great Hall. ![]() [WC: 239 TWC: 2033] Edited by Shinko, Jan 29 2017, 10:08 PM.

"Too many variables? Well, whatever happens, I wish ya lu-GYAAAH" He was stopped short, and let out a bit of a yell whenever he was 'nudged' by Shinko. It wasn't really a nudge, it felt as if a mountain bear pushed him. He'd fall on his bottom, rubbing his shoulder, a sour look on his face. "Whoa there man! That was a bit harsh, don't'cha think?" He'd pick himself up, dusting the front of his suit off as well as the back. He'd sling his left hand into his pocket, and look down towards Shinko, saying "No hard feelings though!" After that was said he'd move on, moving towards the Great hall, right behind Shinko. As he got outside and actually got to see the Great Hall, he'd gaze in awe. It really was quite a large building. The largest building he's ever seen. He'd move into the Great Hall his face brightening in amazement and curiosity as he entered, the building was just so big! He wanted to explore everything, look around. This would be where they would be spending their semester, so he reasoned that it'd be good to explore it. He'd grab Shinko's wrist and say "C'mon, let's look around! There's just so much here to explore and discover!" He'd lead Shinko this time around, walking towards a door that would lead to the outside. Whether Shinko was in tow or not, he'd bust out the door, and look around. The only thing he saw was a couple of dumpsters and some troublemakers back here talking with each other, rolling dice and smoking cigarettes. Glynn's face immediately went from happy and full of life to disappointed. "Well, this didn't turn out the way I thought it would." ~~~~~~~~~~ WC: 292 TWC: 1,389 |
