Name - William Cross

Gender - Male

Race - Faunus (Reptile)

Age - 19

Where are they from? - Vale

Academy - Searching. Current occupation: Bounty Hunter

Personality of the character - William is a loner, he perfers to be by himself in whatever situation. He's harsh, cold, and brutally truthful. If he has a partner for a mission, he acknowledges only that they are a partner and nothing more. He won't let anyone deter his decision once he's made it, he will go full force once he has his mind set on something (or someone). However, he will protect those that are targeted without reason, be it verbally or physically. When you have him on your side, he will be your support, your protector, an ally through and through, however don't break that string for he is not forgiving.

Appearance - Posted Image

Weapons and fighting style - Posted Image
Weapon: Blue Ribbon, two Gunblades with segmented blades that forms into a whip when activated. Each segment is its own compartment, which holds a plunder of different types of dust. The launcher is at the end and travels through the blunt end of the swords, and the chamber lies at the handle. The tip of the blade can hold at least one dust in whip form to cause a different effect than from the gun blade counterpart.

William's Style of battle is one where he keeps his distance and judges where everything is on the battlefield. He an offensive support class if he were to be ranked, attacking with a flurry of different attacks and exploiting weak points. He can refresh a supply of Dust if needed, as his family used to own a Dust Store, he knows the very places to find Dust so he is rarely if ever without the right Dust.

He uses his tactics to subdue opponents, making them slower, weaker, or what have you. He is deadly when the battlefield is etched into his mind, where you have no where to run.

Semblance - William's Semblance is a passive one that lets his mind come up with more of a tactical advantage over the enemy. He sees weaknesses more easily, the battlefield more clearly, and see where his shots and attacks go before hand.
However there is a EXTREME downside to this ability. The more it is used, the more his psyche is attacked. If he uses it too much, he will succumb to the alternate personality slumbering within him; The Dust Reaper.

The Dust Reaper is a deadly murderer that attacks anyone and anything that gets in his way. Been shown on various news reports having never been caught after his crimes, this alias is elusive and mysterious. This change makes it so his style of battle is completely different, the way he approaches battles, and the sheer fact that his entire being changes. First up, the use of his weapon:

The Blue Ribbon get a new treatment in this form, as The Dust Reaper splits the weapon in half, the lower half on his hands and the upper half on his heels. With this he can become ruthless and fierce with his attacks, combining attacks into each other and be as careless as he wants to be.

He's a rush type of character, going in and making the most of what's given to him, not giving a damn about what he should or shouldn't do. If the person in front of him isn't bleeding, then it's more than likely going to be after a few trades with his blades.
This lasts until The Dust Reaper sleeps, which William will gain control once again, not remembering what happened the previous hours.

History - William lived with a family of four and a single pet. He was the older brother to a sister, where they helped their parents with their Dust Store in Vale. They were Faunus but business was booming as they had plenty of income to survive through the days. However the store was also target at various theft attempts, luckily there was always security at the store, so it was never in any real danger.

After one of those theft attempts, William's father had made a special pair of blades for him. The bright blue and vibrant blades were made for the sole purpose of William's protection. William took his time to practice these blades, as they were also whips as he messed around with them for the third time.

However, during the largest theft attempt by the same people, it went too far. That night, the roaring sound of raging fire was all that was heard throughout the night as the dust store was soon nothing but a frame of coal and ash.

William and the family pet made it out alive, his sister taken away and their parents dead, the house would never be rebuilt as it was too badly damaged. William is forced to live on his own, searching for his own way to find a shelter.

Now William is on his own, trying to find the people that have taken his sister away. His pet accompanying him while he was on break from missions, he took up the task to study different types of creatures and Grimm to know their weaknesses better. He carries a titleless book which contains all his information, he's often found reading from it.

The day was calm as it should be, the clouds in the sky barely moving, still forming shapes as they clash into one another. The wind was soft and sweet, as it gently blows through the leaves of the many trees, a rustling sound emitting from the living pillars that stick up from the ground. It almost seemed peaceful for a moment... but we all know that peace is something only dreamed of in the world of Remnant.

Somewhere within the forest, there waits a young man for his next research subject. A Grimm that had evolved past its own regulations, that survived during an attack when on the hunt. This forest was its home, and right now this man was trespassing on its territory. The man cloaked in blue only scribbled in the titleless book that was always on his person, the book was filled to the brim with different types of animals, Grimm, even wanted targets that were publicly known. This book held all the information that he needs, be it on the battlefield or off it.

There was scurrying heard on the bark of the tree he leans on, as a small monkey like creature hangs from the branch, its nose elephant like as its ears were massive, big enough to cover its own head. He bared its large claws before swiping gently at the man's hat. Looking up, he lifts his arm, the creature crawling onto it and on his shoulder. He pets the creature, a soft smile tracing his features.

"You should leave. I'm about to do a bounty, I'm sure once you grow older you can join me Ransel. But for now, just go, keep the family's memories intact" he says with a low voice, his arm lifting to the tree branch again as a low growl emits from the surroundings around them. Ransel flinched at the sound, soon climbing up the man's arm and hiding in the tree. The man scoffs before closing his book with a hard snap, putting it behind him as small robotic grabbers get a hold of the hard covered book, dragging it into his cloak.

The man reaches behind him as a pitch black beast comes crawling out of the shadows, its white bone like armour cracked and broken in places. "You won't be surviving this ordeal, demon..." the man says before loud mechanical snaps and clanks sound, a large blade forming around his hand as he brings it forward, pointing it at the Grimm. "In fact, I'll only need one blade for you..."

The beast growls before it charges forward, the man prepping himself for the battle. But it was a very short one as he widened his eyes as he spotted the exposed flesh in its helmet, aiming his sword before it launches forward in a chain as it stabs the beast square in the head. Soon, fire flares out of the beast's head as it was burned alive, it's entire inside of its head being burnt to a crisp as it topples over.

Cleaving off the tip of his blade from the beast, he reaches behind him again before the sword begins to meld into his cloak and eject the book he had before. He grabs the book before opening to the page where he was writing previously. "Apex Grimm... weakness: armour casualties. Careful aim will secure victory in any situation. Warning: The strength of Apex Grimm are highly volatile..." the man says to himself before looking to his left, the forest in absolute pieces, trees broken, animals dead, and even Grimm itself laid resting on the ground.

"Approach with caution, ranged weaponry advised. ...William Cross" The man says silently before snapping his book shut as he lifts his arm, Ransel jumping onto his shoulder as he walks out of the forest, a prize of the bone armour in his left hand.

Cold-Blooded: YOU REPTILIAN BASTARDS ARE COLD BLOODED, ALL OF YA ARE. Because of that you can't have the "Freeze" Status Condition inflicted onto you. Have fun.

Weapon: Blue Ribbon (Gunblade+Whipx2)
Blue Ribbon, two Gunblades with segmented blades that forms into a whip when activated. Each segment is its own compartment, which holds a plunder of different types of dust. The launcher is at the end and travels through the blunt end of the swords, and the chamber lies at the handle. The tip of the blade can hold at least one dust in whip form to cause a different effect than from the gun blade counterpart.

Modifiers: Blade = Strength x 12, Gun = Resolve x 12, Whip = Focus x 9
However the weapons have lower modifiers, William can innately double-hit, the second hit does about 60% damage. However, to double hit, it requires .2 more DP. (.7 DP in total)

Since the Blue Ribbon is such a variable weapon, the modifications are more spread out in nature. Overall, however, it’s flexibility comes to use when the Dust Reaper is enabled.

Good job on having the most unique Semblance in the game. I'm gonna cry now for how many times I might have to balance change this.

-SEMBLANCE-

William is a rather talented young man thanks to his semblance. Taking out targets for coin has never been a problem due to the fact he can study and analyze opponents weaknesses, giving him the choice to study up to three enemies per battle and gain 3.5% increased damage against them every other turn. He also instantly identifies his situation, being given knowledge in character of the weapon modifications they currently possess and are equipped. However, there is a violent reaction if he uses his special talent… Too much. Pick your target carefully, as after the 4th use of his semblance, William will violently shudder and convulse as he turns into the Dust Reaper for the rest of the battle. However, the opponent he’s focused on identifying the weakness of with his 4th use, he deals 7.5% increased damage against, but deals 50% less damage to other targets if there are any, making it very single-target focused.

The Dust Reaper becomes a very unique mechanic to exist. Defensive stats are decreased by half due to the carelessness and absolute offensive power of the sudden transformation in personality and style, as well as losing the ability to dodge any non-4th target focused attack. But he gains 1.5x increased offensive statistics to combine with his single target damage. He’s still incredibly easy to fight when partied against, however, if focused on a single target in a solo fight, he’s a force to be reckoned with if the Dust Reaper cannot be bursted down faster than he can burst you. His double attack’s damage is also increased to 70%, the DP cost remaining the same. Modifications will remain unchanged, simply empowered by his 7.5% damage increase if they have Dust or Status effects. His first double attack as the Dust Reaper costs another extra single DP to dodge.

It should be noted the possible combinations with modifications makes the Dust Reaper the perfect assassin. Versus a four man party, he can analyze all four and focus entirely on a single target, essentially becoming a diver for damage to assassinate the single target, then using his whip ‘Smoke Bomb’ modification to avoid the rest of the conflict if he lives through the turn, or has his own party possible tank hits for him. However, in extended fights, the Dust Reaper is incredibly unfocused on multi-target damage and can be avoided by simply choosing not to change into the great Dust Reaper during teamfights and instead focusing on remaining in his normal personality, dealing sustained damage with his hybrid weapon. Unless you’ve got a game plan and assassination deal going, the Dust Reaper should not be lightly called upon.
