The target: One of the largest banks in Vale. The reason? Well, aside from needing more money to grow his budding empire, Umbra had heard from the underground that a rather rich family, one supported by the illustrious Schnee family, ran this particular bank. It was the perfect place for the unstoppable, thieving duo to make a name for themselves that would be recognized all across Vale. With this in mind, Umbra drove through the darkened streets of Vale on his motorcycle that he totally hadn't stolen a few days ago with his partner Bella, who was riding on the back with him. As they drove at speeds that made his hair flail wildly, Umbra turned his head to Bella, "Hope you brought your mask. We want them to know our names, but not our faces. Unless you're okay with ordering takeout from now on. Suddenly taking an abrupt turn, Umbra flawlessly skid into the parking spot in front of the bank, kicking down the stand, "We're here. Ready to make a withdrawl?" Inside, the bank employees were practically falling asleep at their posts, stuck in between the time where they had to be awake and ready for work and closing time. It was just what the two thieves had been waiting for all day. The automatic doors slid open slowly, but the bell that sounded whenever someone entered didn't do its job, it seemed. By the time everyone looked over at the doors, the two newcomers were already past the metal detector. Umbra gave the attendant a fake smile as he held his umbrella over his head, bringing it down to shake it off, "Terrible day for rain, isn't it?" The attendant blinked, looking outside and squinting, not seeing the barest hint of rain, nor seeing either of the two drenched, "What do you mean-- E-eep!" Out of nowhere, Umbra snapped his fingers and called out, "FREEZE!" Glowing marks appeared below each and every person's feet, even the guards', before vanishing in a split second! Fearful of what they were, they heeded the raven-haired thief's advice, "Unless you'd like to get out of work early via the afterlife, I suggest you stay completely still. One false movement will guarantee you go out with a bang, so if that's what you would like, please, take that risk. I can't guarantee the others' safeties if you cause them to shift with your own explosion, however." All of this was said with the cheekiest smile as Umbra lifted his umbrella, "Bella, take everything that you can. And I mean everything." With a flourish, Umbra closed and spun that umbrella of his around, the top opening up to reveal the inner workings of it, metallic clanks and a glow emanating from the handle before finally firing a ball of pure blue energy from the tip that sailed through the air and struck the heavy metal door of the safe. A huge explosion rocked the building, the sound of metal creaking and snapping filling the room as the safe door fell forward, revealing the loot within. Umbra bowed with his umbrella acting like a cane, taking off an invisible hat with a flourish towards his companion, "I'll keep the coming guests busy. They'll be in for a funhouse when I'm done with the place." Turning around, Umbra placed a finger under his chin, turning his head back to Bella, "Get going~" With that, he snapped his fingers, runes appearing all over the front and entrance to the bank. At the very frontlines, there were simply mine runes to keep normal police back from entering. For the hunters or huntresses that were sure to come, however, Umbra prepared extra traps. The first logical step was to jump over them, which would take a bit of effort, but once they did, teleportation runes would simply bring them right back to the mines, sending them right back where they started. At the door were sticky runes, combined with spinning runes that would stick them in place before spinning them wildly in place, leaving them stuck there until they found a way to get out. Inside was the fun part. Upon seeing Umbra, they might think to instantly rush at him, to which he would reply that he had the employees trapped. Umbra preemptively shot a hole in the roof for this one, surprised that none of the employees had moved enough to trigger the runes, "And here... is the finale." Placing a spring rune on either side of the entrance, Umbra predicted them to jump to the side when he shot at them, which would send them through the roof. All of this would give them enough time to escape through the teleportation rune that he now placed near the entrance to the vault, another one linked to it at their home base. All of these were set to be seen by only himself and his partner, to avoid any accidents. "I'd love to see how they get past this beautiful mess." A sadistic smile appeared on Umbra's face as he planted his weapon into the ground point-first, leaning against it as he awaited trouble. [869 Words] |

The chill of the night air would've unnerved or bothered anyone else, but for Bella, it was a sign of the many interesting thrills to come for the criminal duo. Heart thundering in her chest and donned in a darker set of clothing, simplistic in design and contrasting with her usual attire, the auburn haired beauty had her arms around the waist of her boss, resting her cheek against his back, her brown eyes lazily turning up to the back of his head at the sound of his voice, just barely able to be heard over the rumble of their clearly stolen ride. Grinning brightly, she had to admit the sound of take out wasn't too bad. She wasn't lazy when it came to their heists, but when it came to food what was the point of working so hard? Even now, her guts churned with the mention of food and the thought of the possibilities that take out presented. The grin didn't last long though. She briefly pouted up at him as her eyelids lowered, clearly not amused by his words. It didn't last long though, as she shot right back up at him. "Aaaw...~ And let the world miss out on this face~? Pfff~ Come on, I'm reckless but not stupid." She chided, squeezing him gently as he skid straight into a parking spot, almost throwing the two off the bike as she shook her head, auburn locks falling neatly back into place as she slid from her position on it, her shoes tapping against the ground below them. Breathing in the air around them, she shared a look with her superior for a second, stuffing her freezing cold hands into her pockets, winking at him as she plucked her rubber mask from the inside of her formless hoodie, just where a bra was likely to be. With how baggy her attire was, it'd be awfully hard for law enforcement to tell just what gender she was, though, this was something she dealt with pretty regularly anyway. Pulling it up over her face and ensuring she still had total vision she nodded silently. "Ready as I'll ever be~" She grinned from behind the rubber mask, which naturally was of a pig. Quite fitting, when her stomach rumbled and roared as she walked in with him, tugging her hood up so it wasn't too obvious. Keeping her head low, she stayed as out of sight as possible, walking just behind her superior. As tired as the late night crew looked to be employee wise, she knew better than to let a single person notice her. Once he gave her the go ahead, was the time she'd make any clear cut movement. Whistling from behind the rubber maw of the pig mask, she hurried on into the now busted into safe, her eyes looking over every single bag of cash that was contained within. Knowing how this song and dance went, she carefully picked one up to start, hefting two under each arm as she jogged from the safe to their usual get away rune, carefully placing the bags nearby it, and repeating the pattern with each and every bag. Though, that was far from the only thing contained in the safe. There was gold there as well. Large, sparkling bars of the stuff. And that, would be much harder to grab and jog with. Shrugging, she carefully stacked a few bars and hefted those up, groaning at the weight as her arms trembled. Still, he did say everything and everything was what she was gonna grab for him. Careful to watch her fingers, she let the stack down beside the bags, before retreating for even more of the stuff. Knowing full well that her voice was muffled behind the mask, she kept her mouth shut as her mind did the complaining for her. Pursing her lips with the next carefully stacked pyramid of gold bars, her thoughts were a whirlwind of expletives and complaints. The majority aimed at the bank itself for their management of their goods. Seriously, who the heck needed THIS many gold bars!? You could build a damn fort with them! Not that it'd do any good, she knew that much. For such a particularly weak metal though, it was insanely heavy. Her fingers were feeling numb by the time she'd gotten the fourth or so batch of mini golden bar pyramids centered right around the bags of cash. Last, but certainly not least, there was a small fortune of gems to consider. Mostly diamonds really. And as they say, diamonds are a girl's best friend! Grabbing what she could, she pawned two of the biggest ones in each palm, whistling as she set each one on top of the softer bags of liens. Retreating one last time, she came out with the smaller, but much larger in quantity diamonds and gems, that looked as though they'd been plucked directly from engagement and wedding rings. As she dumped that last bit down, she twirled on her heel and made a quick jog back into the safe, ensuring she'd emptied the entire damn thing out. Unfortunately for Bella, there was still quite a load for her. She was damned close to ripping the mask off just to rip her hair out! Glowering at the stacks of golden coins that had clearly been hidden behind the diamonds, the gold bars, AND the mad stacks of cash bags, she pulled herself together, pinching the snout of the pig mask before kicking over a tower of the gold coins, which didn't make things any easier for her. Making a well with the large amount of fabric she had, she gathered up what she could and carried it out. This was already more trouble than it was worth, and at that, no one was trying to play hero yet! Where the heck was the fun in that?! Her weapon remained sheathed up on her back as she paced back and forth, from the safe to the loot area. By this point, their stash was starting to resemble a dragon's cavern area. I swear if I see one more gold coin or diamond or bar I'm gonna smash my HEAD into the wall! she vowed, as she kept going. So far, out of all of the contents of the safe, this was what was taking the longest. And that wasn't even accounting for the fact that she could also clean out every employee's wallet if Umbra really wanted. |1,087 Words| |

The terrifying man was walking one night, a group of mercenaries walked behind him. He got weird looks out of the corner of people's eyes, but that's what happened wherever he went. It gave him an urge to keelhaul the bastards for not knowing who he was, but unfortunately he couldn't take time to do that today, he had more pressing matter. He was heading towards one of the larger banks in Vale, what was the pirate going to do at the bank? That'd surprise you. "Alright 'lads, go on in front of me, I have to make a stop." As Drizzt turned to move across the street the mercs would march on, towards the bank. Drizzt would continue walking down an alley, kicking a door open and walking down the steps that was behind it. He walked back up with a bag of cash, wiping the blood off of his sword before returning it to it's holster. He had walked into the bar he owned greeted by thugs who thought they could rob him of his belongings. By time a few minutes had passed he would look around at the bank, something had gone wrong... His mercs were scattered everywhere, left right, to and fro, blown up, everywhere. These were supposed to be trained professionals. Drizzt growled in anger, something had been here before, someone had been here before he was. "If ya want something done, you gotta do it yerself." Scimitar in his left hand, pistol in his right hand, and oranges in his side holder, he was ready to take on whoever had been there. Drizzt watched in entertainment as two of the many mercs he has were spinning in front of the door. He'd firmly plant his boot into one of them, knocking him into the other one. "You aren't getting paid."He'd say as he walked near the entrance, spotting a black haired 'lad in the corner of his eye. No words were uttered, he'd simply raise his gun and aim a shot straight at the kid's right knee, another aimed at his left shoulder. He was holding whatever he had in his hands with both of them, so Drizzt would assume that he'd probably see the shot coming for his right knee coming and slightly move to block it, but be surprised with the other shot. He'd slowly walk forward, being careful to watch his step, the man wasn't working alone, or he had set traps beforehand, that's the only way he could have taken out his band of mercs. There was a cocky look in the kid's eyes. In front of the metal detector, Drizzt wouldn't be so happy. "I wanted to do my tax returns, 'lad. You should move out of the way." ~~~~~~~~~ WC: 463 Edited by Drizzt, Jan 20 2017, 05:27 PM.

"Hahahahaha!" Umbra nearly fell over backwards, laughing his ass off as the bumbling squadron that Drizzt had brought along went straight into his little trap parade without realizing the consequences of it, the first step sending the group backwards with a massive explosion that cratered the street below. With his synthetic mask on, it was impossible to tell that he was the raven-haired crook that had parked outside. It had altered his features to make him look like an entirely different person, albeit only be facial features. He now appeared to be some sort of braided blonde boy, with golden eyes and a cocky smirk. As the goofy henchmen got up from the explosion, Umbra called to them from the inside of the bank, "Oh, sorry, sorry~ I should've put a 'wet floor' sign out there, huh? Too bad, but the bank is closed for tonight, so I'll ask you to turn around and take your sorry asses ho-- S-seriously?" Umbra leaned forward, his eyes wide in disbelief as the men once again walked towards the bank, leaving behind the one who had actually stepped on the mine rune. However, it was the same as before. There were multiple mines laid out before them, and as soon as one of them stepped into it, they were blown back with another resounding BOOM! Umbra tilted his head back and laughed in amusement, "Are you guys mental? Dropped on your heads as kids or something? The place is booby trapped! Can't you figure that out on your own?" Though despite Umbra's warning, the fools continued to charge into the traps, getting more pissed off that their way was blocked than anything else. The raven-haired thief leaned against his umbrella, eyelids lowering, "Oi, oi, you guys are messing up the surprises for the cops, y'know. Oh well. The mines aren't the only things that I've got laid out...~" Just as he said this, one of the dumbasses fell right into the second line of defense: The teleportation runes. In a blink, the surprised henchmen were teleported right back into the mines, getting more than their daily fill of explosion once more! Umbra chuckled a bit at that one, though he was a bit upset that his perfectly planned out mess was being ruined by the group of lackeys. After a few minutes of the henchmen simply making sure that they had hit all of the mine runes by basically suicide bombing, they then went ahead and hopped onto the teleportation runes, ruining that line of defense as well. Umbra was tempted to go out there and stop them himself, but then again, their ranks had been dropped down to two. And where did those two end up? That's right! They were locked in the spinning, sticky runes, getting twisted about wildly, "Well, looks like you've gone ahead and mucked up my fun." Umbra tilted his head back and called out to his partner in crime, "Little Piggy, you plan on sleeping on this stuff? Take what you can right now, and we'll--" Umbra reacted with instinct as he was fired at suddenly from the entrance, pulling up and opening his umbrella to deflect the two shots quite easily, leaving it open as he spoke, "Ooo, really? You might want to hold your fire then, unless you'd like to ruin your only chance at getting your tax return, buddy." Umbra pointed from behind the umbrella at the woman nearest, who was still as frozen as she could be, "They've come down with a bad case of the explosions. Any little movement will set 'em off, so I suggest that you...look up." He suddenly pointed up at the ceiling as a small piece of rubble fell from it, landing next to the mercenary. A second later, Umbra pulled the trigger on his umbrella, charging up a blue sphere of energy on the center of the top before firing it at the grizzled man's feet. If he dodged backwards, the rest of the loose ceiling would collapse on the entrance, leaving them locked out and giving the two enough time to escape. If he dodged to the right or left, he would be caught in the spring runes and sent flying out of the holes in the roof. [716 Words | 1,585 Total] |
