Official Re-draft Central Rulebook

How RDC works:
01. Each member selects an NHL franchise from the available teams list.
02. Once teams are selected, a draft order will be randomized and the initial NHL Draft will be held featuring all current NHL players. Salary restrictions DO apply and all teams must be equal to or under the salary cap before playoffs start or their team is automatically eliminated.
03. Following the conclusion of the draft, each GM will be allowed to make as many transactions as they want amongst the league in order to build the best roster possible.
04. Following the conclusion of the transaction period, playoff seeds will be randomized to create match-ups for the current seasons "Stanley Cup Playoffs".
05. Once playoff seeds are determined and match-ups are created, every participating General Manager MUST vote on every round of match-ups in the playoffs section until a champion is determined. With our re-draft leagues being voting based rather than being a simulation, failure to vote during playoffs will result in your team being terminated and account banned.
06. Following the playoffs, all teams are scrapped. A new draft order is produced and a new draft takes place to start an entirely new season and ultimately a new champion will be crowned. The process repeats.

Salary Cap:
01. Each player in the NHL has an assigned salary.
02. Each team has a $150 salary cap.
03. Each GM must build a roster of 20 players [ 12 Offense, 6 Defense, 2 Goalies ] through the NHL Draft and transaction periods. Each team MUST manage to stay under or equal to the salary cap before the start of playoffs to avoid elimination.

NHL Draft:
01. The draft is 20 rounds and the draft order is completely randomized.
02. The draft is completed in snake format.
03. Each GM cannot draft more than the listed roster limit. This means each team is allowed only 12 offensive players, 6 defensive players and 2 goalies. Players MUST play their regular positions.
04. When your team is on the clock, you have 2 hours to make your selection before you are skipped. If you aren't going to be on to make your pick, send a list of players you want to somebody who will be on to announce your pick. Otherwise, your selection will get skipped and the next team will be on the clock. If you are skipped, you can make your selection at anytime afterwards, however you may lose on on players that get selected.

Playoffs:
01. Each team gets a randomized playoff seed to determine first round match-ups.
02. Each participating GM is required to vote on every match-up, for every round.
03. Voting for playoffs take place in the "Playoffs" thread.
04. Once all votes are in, the team in the match-up with the most votes is determined the winner and moves on to the next round. The losing team is eliminated. This process repeats until a Stanley Cup Champion is determined.
05. Any team that fails to meet the salary cap will be eliminated and their opponent will move on to the next round.

Voting:
01. Every GM must vote on all playoff match-ups. Failure to vote during playoffs will result in your team being terminated and account being banned.
02. Each round of playoffs will last a day, or until all votes are registered and a winner is determined.
03. GM's must vote on the team in which they believe has a better overall roster.
04. Things to take into consideration when voting on lineups:
a. Real-life hockey knowledge on the players
b. Player Rating
c. Player Value ( Salary hit )
d. Player Builds ( Team Chemistry - ie. 4 lines of snipers most likely wouldn't be successful in real life )

Transaction Period:
01. Following the draft, there is a two day transaction period in which all teams are open to trading players or signing players from free agency in order to build the best roster possible.

Trades:
01. Each GM is allowed unlimited trades.
02. Draft picks MAY be traded, as can cash considerations.

Free Agency:
01. There is no limit on Free Agent acquisitions.
02. In order to pick-up a free agent, you must "buy out" a current player to make roster space for the free agent. The current buy-out penalties are as follows:

Buy Out Penalty
Overall | $ Penalty
90+ | $5
87-89 | $4
83-86 | $3
80-82 | $2
79 below | $1
